Cate's Diary

Hi,Liza & LaMa. I may not be back in here until tomorrow afternoon as we have a family lunch to go to. It's our turn but we're having it at G's brother's place & we're taking all the food.

Have fun!

Thanks, LaMa. We woke up early so have had time to post. I'm not sure if our BIL will be there as he has been in & out of A & E all week. Tough times for them :(

Thanks, Liza & LaMa. We had a lovely lunch & then visited M in the hospital afterwards. He's looking a bit better. He'll be in over the weekend. It is different when it is not your husband or son. I feel just that little bit removed as much as I love my husband's family. I try not to think of what might happen down the track, but for now, I am very grateful for our lives. These family catchups are a good thing. I wasn't so keen on having such regular catchups at first after G's Mum died, but the more we have the more important I think they are.

It's the downside of love. :( Or the pointy end, might be a better way to put it. Yes, grateful and not wanting to waste a minute.

More prosaically, I love the sound of your lairy swim dress with matching trews! I'm in the market for new swimmers, and that sounds like something I'd like. I think I'll browse a few options... :)

Hi, Amy. Every single experience I have with hospitals & illness, makes me realise how lucky I am. I am very grateful.
My swimsuit came from Modli. I just had a quick look at their site & some of their swim dresses are even more modest than when I ordered mine. I do like mine. It is floral & the swim tights are very hot pink.

I have a short swim dress, dark blue and white flower print, which I'm very happy with. It's a bit on the big side now though...

I love the sound of the hot pink tights! Plus (I'm sure) there's various safety aspects if I wore similar - I'd look so much less like a seal, to a shark! :D Thanks for the tip about Modli.

glad the lunch went well Cate . And that G brother does improve soon. I wear a tankini . They have nice shorts and a top that covers my tummy . Also like LaMa a bit big . I will
Look up that website later .

Hi, LaMa, Amy & Petal :grouphug:
I have had a lovely day today playing golf at G's course. He & I came 6th I think, out of a field of over 25 pairs.
I'll have a quiet day at home tomorrow & do a little gardening. I should sleep well tonight.

Thanks, Amy, Jack & LaMa. I slept very well, including half the evening & have woken very refreshed. It rained overnight apparently. I think I may have rolled over once & certainly didn't hear any rain.
A home day today :)

Amy, I loved the short film you shared here, it was really great.

I also feel completely removed when it's someone I love who has family that are sick, but they are not my family. If you were concerned to a debilitating degree about every neighbour and friend, you couldn't function. I think that's okay. I think your role in that scenario is to be the strong one - provide emotional support and make the tea. :)

Hi, Em. It is good to be able to feel strong enough to offer emotional support. I know that G's sister really appreciates it & M loves it when we visit.
What are you up to this weekend, Em?

Love the good restful sleeps after lovely days doing nice things. Glad you are doing well Cate and yes so good you can remain strong to offer the support that's needed. I'm sure they do really appreciate that!

Enjoy your home day with the clean after-rain air.
