Hello Faye! I wanted to drop by and say hello too! I see you joined the birthday challenge, good for you! Right now you are one pound less than I am, looks like we are in the same range. Race you to 199!

This time I need to stay in Onederland. Instead of wondering how I keep getting back into twoderland.. lol

Have a great day! And good luck with the Halloween Challenge. So far we are in the lead, but the smashing pumpkins are closing in.

My fellow pervette, Sheryl, gave you some great advice on how boost your calories.;)

I am a nightowl, myself. Got to sleep about 4am last night..lol. I love my sleep too. I nap during the day all the time if I didn't get my 8hrs the night before. My cat and I are napping buddies..lmao.:D

Does your gym have a circuit? I know more and more gyms are getting them. I do circuit training, and it's great. It's also very easy--no trainer needed. You just go around the circuit and work each machine as hard as you can for 30-40 seconds. Kinda like a Curves. It's not the most optimal kind of strength training--but it's way better than none at all. ;) It will keep you from losing muscle.

Daaammnn girl! You got your ass in gear at the gym. Way to go that's awesome.

You did good with your protein intake but you skipped breakfast. BAAAADDD!!!!!

Boil some eggs the night before or something but you need to eat.

What are your meal and workout plans for tomorrow?

Curves is a chain of women only circuit training fitness centers. The machines are all hydraulic so you don't mess around with adjusting weights. A circuit has 8-10 machines placed in a circle, with jogging board stations in between them. You spend about 30-40 seconds at each machine/station. At my gym it takes about 10min to go around the circuit once. So three trips around gives you a 30-min workout. It's cardio and resistance training combined, so very efficient. Some gyms have a circuit, others don't. But isn't there anyone at your gym who can help you out with a program? If not, ask Steve--he is the workout guru here at WLF and will help you out.:)

ohh wow cool. that sounds fun. There are people who work at the gym but they are personal trainers and ALWAYS with clients so i never really get time to as questions.
I was going to lose a bunch of weight and then when i drop about 30 lbs get a trainer for a few weeks to let me know what i should be doing. I just cant afford one right now.
thanks for your help :D

Hi :)

1.5 lbs per week is nothing to be ashamed of. That's excellent.

im definitely happy with it. I just thought as heavy as i am id lose more each week.
When i was around 180 and dieted i lost nearly 4lbs a week. I thought maybe my body just lost weight fast, but i guess not :p

heh. Im just happy im losing the weight :D

But we woke up at like 11 so i figured id just eat lunch :p

Tommorrow ill be doing 30 mins elliptical, 10 mins running, 10 bins bike probably. then possibly going back to the gym in evening to do some weights.

I'll be eating fruit and protein bar for brekkies. Something sweet potato for lunch then maybe a light dinner, salad or sandwich maybe. And cause its friday i may indulge in a rum and coke zero :)

Okay, that sounds better. I keep forgetting that everybody DOESN'T get up at 5am every day. So your lunch WAS actually breakfast.

1.5lb a week is great. You're losing and that's awesome. And have that rum and coke. That is what fridays are for. I will be indulging in a Grey Goose martini myself. Gotta love fridays!

hehe. i dont really look forward to drinking but i think it will be nice to relax and get a little floozy (yes it only takes 1 or 2) im such a lightweight :p

my drink of choice is white wine spritzers but im not allowing myself them until im in onederland!

hmmmm i think i may start recording weight with the decimal points too. Cause im using whole numbers.
like last week i went from 210.8 down to 209.1 yet called it one pound.

think i may def start recording the extra info after the decimal place, for the sake of accuracy

Faye, I just read in another thread that you are from Lincolnshire. What city? I spent a semester in Grantham back in 1992. Yes, Maggie Thatcher's old stomping grounds. :beerchug: How did you end up in NC??

lol !

yeah im going to try hard today to add things in

lol im always up at 1am. the boyfriend has been doing overtime this week so is finishing work at 1am, and then gets home at 2am.... so after chilling together we hit the bed at 3am haha.

Crazy schedules :(

My husband has the same scedule! He used to get home at 6am and Id go to bed at 5am and wake up at 10:eek2:. I know not enough sleep doesnt help you be your best with your workouts, but thats the only time I have to do the things I do online and it takes all night

I think Ill try your tomato concoption..it sounds soo good. I love Turkey and 2pieces of bread usually equal far more then they should when combined with everything else for a sandwich. Especially if you use the most healthiest bread. GO figure. You try to do better, and its either more expensive, or higher in cals..lol

Hope you have a good workout and eating routine tomorrow!!

Hey FayeFaye :). I normally don't work too much on the machines at the gym anymore, but when I started out with weights about 15 years ago its what I did for about the first 3 months. I would do the nautilus machine circuit, doing 3 sets of 12 reps (with 1 min rest in between) of each of the machines and moving the weight up once that became less challenging. These few months on the machines helped me learn about the different muscle groups and those muscles started learning that they actually exist .. ha ha. I found it an excellent way to break into weights without a trainer. After a few months I meandered over to the free weights area and started doing more and more of that.

Just make sure you sit on the machines with your core (abs/back) nice and tight and straight. When you move the weights, dont move any other body parts (like dont let your whole body help out, use only that body part that you're working and tighten your core to prevent your body from being jelloee and loose). While your lifting you want to command control over your muscles, especially your core, to enable you to focus on the muscle you're working and prevent injury. Yesterday I saw this lady using a simulated lat pull down machine, she's supposed to be bringing her arms down straight and tight and to feel/use her lats but she's all over the place, her whole body moving around when her torso should have been literally stiff and remaining in place.
