Good news- I have the week off!
More good news- I am killin the exercise
Not so good news- gained a pound last week
Ever tried to refocus your eating the week of Thanksgiving?...sheesh!
My goal is to really really get the exercise in Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and eat very very well and light those days then enjoy my thanksgiving dinner then get right back on it on Friday then move my weigh in until Saturday this week to allow a day to get some recovery from moms pecan pie and then stop writing run on sentences lol.
 
Happy belated birthday, Brawny. And boy do I feel you on the pre-Thanksgiving diet monitoring. I still feel like I should be very conscious on how much I eat on Thursday, but trying to keep things down in the 2,000 calorie range for the day is silly. If I can keep it the 3,000 range, that'll be just fine and even give me some fuel for Friday's workouts.

As for pecan pie, that pretty much puts me in a sugar coma it's so good. I think we might just be doing the pumpkin variety. Which is also good but not quite as decadent.
 
Well I don't really know just how I am doing lol. I skipped my Friday weigh in to give myself a week to recover from Thanksgiving. I did way better than I have in the past but still did too much eating. I did stick with my exercising really well. Had several really long walks. So hard to avoid the food traps that abound this time of year. Example- having a board meeting tonight and Texas BBQ will be present....sigh
I need normal post holiday boring regular days. I am thinking on what my Dec. goals will be.
 
December goals:

Exercise 23 out of 31 days
Lose 8 lbs Current weight is 287.8 so that would put me in the 270s
Walk more during the work day (get away from the desk)
 
They sound like attainable goals Brawny. Does the big food thing settle down now until Christmas?
 
Yes Cate things are settling down..thank goodness.
New goal- 300,000 steps in dec. (at 43000 right now)
I got a new phone and it has a pedometer.
Eating was good this weekend. Trying hard to get a new head of steam and quit sputtering.
The good news...I haven't really lost ground I just kinda did the 2lb up and down for about 3 weeks. Gotta get that behind me. Time for a bit more progress.
 
Yeah LaMa it's like not a victory but not a defeat. Kinda like kissing your sister lol.

Oh yeah Today is day 100 with no fast food unless I melt down and run to a drive thru window today I have reached that goal
It is day 106 since I restarted my quest for fitness, health and a healthy body weight
I have lost 24 lb in that time.
I have bought 2 new belts.
I can wear my size 40 pants now. Haven't been in them in 2 or 3 years.
I can walk 5 miles with no problem at a pace of a bit over 3mph
I have not let more than 2 days go by without exercise since August 22 and I have averaged exercising 4 or 5 days per week.
I had a great Dr. Report
My blood pressure is lower
I have decreased my insulin needs by a third
Mrs. Brawny likes my weight loss ( wink wink)
All that with a measly 24 lb loss!
Why the hell do we let ourselves get fat?
 
:D I have three sisters but I have no experience with kissing them so I´ll just take your word for it... Sounds like you have been doing very well these past 3 and a half months! We let ourselves get fat because it´s easy. Living healthily is more work in the short run and our bodies are all about short-term non-decisions.

:iagree: with LaMa- getting fat is eaaaasssy! Being healthy requires attention- lots of attention!
