Brawny's time machine

Great health news, Brawny! Nice to see the hard work pay off, yeah?

I'm remembering a time when I ate just salad for a week and lost 10 pounds. Boom, just like that. The weeks before and after were typical 1.5-lb losses that would make anyone happy, but that one week was just glorious. Mind you, this wasn't that first 10 pounds that everyone gets, this was during a long-term loss attempt (that I completely ruined a month or two later).

Hey, Brawny. You can do this. Just changing something around might bring a loss. Maybe cut out bread or all starchy carbs for just a few days. Even cutting out starchy carbs at breakfast time can move the scales in the right direction.

Thanks guys
Yeah I kinda lost focus for about 3 days there I didn't go nuts or anything but I ate like 7 or 8 hundred calories too much for a couple of days I did some exercise but skipped Thursday and Friday. Trying to refocus today. I went to the track this morning and walked 4.5 miles! It was glorious weather here. Cool and sunny so I really maxed it out. I feel so much better. I'm about to plan my menu for the week. I do much better when I pre plan what I am gonna eat. No plan for me usually ends with too much food going down my gullet lol

Yay Brawny for getting back to it. I just had a break for a week and I feel rather emotionally refreshed from it, now back to work.....

I always do better when I preplan too. It is just easier to resist when I know exactly what I am having. Cate is right- weight loss is never a straight path.

Thanks guys

Nothing wrong with losing focus...as long as it's temporary. And, it seems like it was just that - temporary.

The weather here has been pretty cooperative too. Creepy, really. It's usually snowing this time of year. I mean, snow on the ground, been there for weeks already kind of snowing. This year? Nothing.

The good news:
My exercise remains good. I even forced myself to go to the track at 8 last night after I had watched my daughters basketball game. I was really tired and totally not feeling it but I did 2.25 miles anyway and of course as always I felt way better after than I did before. I have exercised 60 out of the last 86 days. Which is almost 70%. I would love to hit 75% but that's gonna be hard to do with my job and such. I am happy with 70% and it is enough to make a good impact. I am enjoying the track right now. When it gets cold and rainy here (not much snow or ice here) I will transition back to the bike some.
The bad news:
My food intake has sputtered between good and kinda good and a little bad (haven't gone full blown binge and haven't had any fast food crap) What I am doing is evening nibbling. It is hard for me not to grab a bit of this and a bit of that as I walk through the kitchen. I also have not done a good job with my meal planning. I am usually much better when I do this. My menu planning has been a casualty of my busy schedule but I must get that done.

I think my schedule is pretty clear until after Thanksgiving here so that's like 10 days to reset and regain traction and hopefully get that cursed scale moving downward again.

Rethink reset resume!

Very good day yesterday! Ate 1500 calories and walked 5 miles in 1 hour and 39 minutes!
Today is my birthday and I have instructed my peeps that I do not want to go out to eat to celebrate. I will postpone that for a couple of months. I am just now regaining a bit of momentum. Instead I am going to the sporting goods store and get me some new walking slider compression shorts. (walking 3-5 miles at a time makes things kinda rub lol).
My sons are due in from college Tuesday and Wed. I haven't seen the one that in the Naval Academy since August so he might notice a change. I am like 24lbs down since he saw me last.
I have all next week off so I am planning to kill the exercise. This could get me rolling on toward 30lb lost.
I plan to eat a nice Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday but pre-earn it with exercise and then go right back to plan.
Weigh in is in the morning (another reason to forgo the birthday dinner)
Maybe I will see scale movement!

Happy birthday and have fun with your sons! Haven´t seen my folks since August either but I still have to wait until Christmas.

 Happy Birthday Brawny
Here's a very low calorie, fruit cake for your birthday :D

Well, happy (belated) birthday!!!

I like the term "pre-earn" - I might start using that.
