Losing over 2 lbs a week on average is pretty awesome.
Really doing great on the exercises.

Do you have a goal for the bike in August, or do you want to focus on the jogging?

I want to mix bike with the walking this month so maybe I can get closer to jogging...notice I use the word jogging instead of running...maybe chugging is the best word. Ha

Hey Brawny! It all starts with the first steps! I suggest listening to or reading a book by Jeff Galloway on running (or jogging)...he recommends a walk/run combo...and I've found this method can really work and it helps recovery to be much faster! (Unless you develop a stress fracture like I did by not having enough vitamin D and magnesium and calcium in my system!)
As I recall, it's getting close to back to school time...so I know you will rock it when you go back to your school routine!

Did 3 miles on the track tonight and I jogged 3 times for 20 seconds...pretty sad to be excited about that low level entry into running but hey...it's a start.
I have exercised 3 out of 4 days in aug. time to move those scales!

It's a start. It's always scary increasing exercise intensity of any kind, particularly when you have some weight to lose. Scared the bejeezus out of me when I started, and still makes me somewhat nervous. So far so good though.

awesome, you have to start somewhere, so that's a good a point as any. Remember: The expert at anything was once a beginner.

Good job on the 20 second duration. I'm leaving a mark here before the fast progress you've been making. Looking back at 20 seconds like it was nothing.

Thanks for yall encouraging words on my feeble beginnings into running. I actually find myself totally pumped about increasing to 30 seconds tonight! Wow the old fat me would not have had such feelings.

Soooo.....I need to get the scales moving again....soooooo...Ive been athinkin.....I need some reasons to loose weight that are ...well....different from the same ol health fodder so here goes

1. Zombie apocalypse....If Im faster than you, they will eat you first. The fat guys are gonna get gotten fast.
2. Get drunk quicker....Less body weight, less booze needed for a buzz...Its simple economics
3. No more dirty looks when I board an airplane.
4. Run away from wild animals....If a crazed polar bear jumps his fence at the zoo, he will get the fat kid, not me.
5. Females outnumber males by 3 to 1 in old folks homes so if I can live that long think of all the action I will be gettin.

Why didnt I make this list sooner?

The airplane thing is actually true (well so is the zombie apocalypse one). Hell the whole flying experience has changed dramatically for me.

Anyone who flies a lot or would like to, dropping some pounds makes the experience exponentially easier.

Totally agree on the flight expercience it's way more nicer to fully use the fold away table, instead of having it rest on or against your belly, being able to tighten the seatbelt in stead of having to loosen it, and see the look of relief of ppl in the next seat, when they think "thank god, not a fatty or a small child".

Reason 1 and 4 also make perfect sense.

God I hate the airplanes, one time the woman next to me had to ask for an extention to her belt, if I had been two inches bigger I would have had to too.
Things like that is brilliant to think about if getting on the threadmill is hard.

Did 2.5 miles last night and 4 thirty second runs. Held up ok but I feel how fat I still am with each step when I run. It's gonna take some more loss to make that better, I think tonight I will repeat the thirty second thing and move up to 40 on we'd. Or thurs.
