Haven't posted in a couple of days. Probably because I have only been half assed on plan Half assed means giving some effort but not full effort. And here's the kicker I weigh in this morning and saw 278 even. A .4 loss! Last week I was lazed beam focused and saw a small gain...jeeze this is a crazy ride!
Bike total for July- 207...
I doubt I'm gonna make the 12 lb in July weight loss goal but 276 would give me 10, but I did smash that 150 mile bike mileage goal...that something at least. If the scale keeps inching downward I'm ok with that
 
Thanks for yalls encouraging words, they really help me push along. It is always a boost when I see someone has posted on my thread. That's why I try to hit yalls threads too. This is a group effort!
One more tiny success. Took my wave runner to the lake on Friday. The boys kneeboarding and I pull them on a tube. Well...it was much easier getting on and off the wave runner, used to be an effort.

I know what you mean about feeling good about seeing people post in your diary! I hate when I go on and no one wrote. Makes me feel like no on cares and I know it's not true... damn my need for validation! I'm getting over it though! The diary is supposed to be for me to help me get things out! Hehe

Bike total for July-220 miles and I walked for 50 minutes on the track last night instead of biking. 2.75 mile walk! And get this, I almost felt like I could have jogged a bit I think mr. Vee had a moment like this a few weeks ago. Anyway, I fought off the urge. Not quite there yet but I am thinking about this 5 k nearby in April...hmmmm maybe...just maybe!
 
Good job, both on the bike and resisting the urge to jog. There's nothing wrong with picking up running, but only if you feel your body can handle it. And if you do start, get a schedule that'll get you from not running to finishing that 5k.
Don't be like me and go full throttle, you'll have to stop and wait for your body to catch up with your mind just when you found out how nice it is to run.

Hey, you're forgetting your 'running room'..... start with that.... run from your couch to your fridge and back before the commercial is over!! lol
 
Yeah I'm full on jogging now. Did 5 cycles of walk 2 minutes (3.2 mph), jog 4 minutes (5.5 mph) yesterday. Knees and ankles were just fine. Then I got distracted walking back to my car in the parking lot and twisted my ankle stepping off a curb. Apparently yesterday was "irony Tuesday."

Great job on the exercise and good luck on the runs. Even if the start is just 15 second jogging bursts to be safe, that might be enough to get your heart rate up.
 
Step one in brawny's running plan...run from car into store, buy twinkies, run back to car....ha ha

I've always wondered what a Twinkie tastes like, I hear it so often and on so many American tv shows.

Anyway, I shouldn't be talking twinkles, I should be talking running!
 
Final report on July ...a bit late
Goal 1- bike 150 miles....did 230
Goal 2 lose 12 lb...lost 9...close
Exercised 22 out of 31 days...pretty good for a fat boy.

Goals for Aug
Exercise 23 out of 31 day ..Done 2 so far
Lose 9 lb ..that will put me in the 260s
Be able to jog a lap by end of aug.
Walked 2.5 miles tonight
I think I will try mr vees idea of 15 second jogging bursts soon.
