Thanks for the kind words (cloudy) and realistic words (Guideon)
Blister is better not completely well but better, gonna try it out tomorrow.

Congrats on the run, but watch out for that blister...a sure sign your shies and socks are not a good fit!
Very proud of you Brawny!
Keep making those great choices!
Sarah

What a wonderful day
Ten or more degrees cooler than normal here in The Lone Star State and this morning was our first football scrimmage. Oldest son (a senior) scored twice and younger son (sophomore) scored once. Then did some work around rancho del brawny, took a wonderful nap , went to a party for our church and topped it off by doing 4 eighty second runs within my 2.5 mile walk.
Now that was a good Saturday.
Thanks for your positive words Sarah, blister is about gone and thanks for dropping in USMC. I have a lot of respect for those 4 letters.

Glad that you had a good day. Also nice that you have the kids at the skill positions. I quit football because I was tired of being a lineman. :)

What's nice about the running mixed into the walking is that it's tough to get your heart rate up while walking, but once you get it up there after a run/jog, it stays up for a while when you walk. And so you're not just burning more calories for the time you run, but also burning more while your walking as opposed to when you walk without the runs in between. The downside is that it's harder on the joints.

Keep up the good work. Maybe one day you can play wide out in a 35 and over league. :D

I hate blisters, those second skin plasters work really well.
I had some from walking in my trainers the other day as they are getting old.
I've lost track of your weight loss, how are you going?

Blister is 90 % well. I think it was caused by a bad sock choice but if I have any more trouble I will get new shoes, but these are new ones so I hope they work out.....did 4 ninety second runs embedded in my 2 mile walk tonight. It really got this old fat boys heart rate up to about my limit but I made the 4 runs with no trouble. I think I will stay at 90 seconds for another day or two. Seems about my limit....but not for long! Gonna weigh in on we'd. Will see what I have going there. Two days ago I would have predicted a gain but the last two days have been good so maybe it won't be bad news.

Good job on the runs...stay at 90 min for a week...get your body comfortable with that...and good news on the blister! I think you're right on the sock..that's normally what does it for me. You might want to try a paid of nylon footies from your wife's drawer under your normal socks...they can act as a second skin and keep the blisters at bay...no one will ever know!
Keep up the good work Brawny!
Sarah

Well done on the runs Brawny. I might have to start trying the running/walking thing (where no-one can see me) if my weight doesn't shift soon! Running feels great, even if you huff & puff! Cheers, Cate
