It is raining but the thought of streaking is rupulsive...not because of the nudity...its because that takes running (ha)

Things better now...just went out to house at lunch and I have water! I will try for a short ride tonight and back to normal in the morning.

Still got a few days to get it together before Dr visit.

Here is my dream of how that will go down

Nurse: "Your weight today Mr. Brawnster is 275"

Me: "Thank you...by the way what was my weight last time I was here?"

Nurse: "Oh my! It was 303!...what fanfastic progress...good job"

Me (spoken in Elvis voice); "Thank ya thankya vury much"

Yes friends its the little fantasies that keep us going

Lol, I work in a wellness center and we always make a point of congratulating people when they've lost weight and asking how they did it so they can have some brag time. Builds rapport, if your nurse is smart she'll lead with that.

Got back on bike this morning 8.12 miles. I bet I can put in at least 10 on Sat. Hard to get up early enought to put in 10 during the week. Probably because it takes about 30 minutes of coffee intake to launch my bike riding.

Ate pretty well ysterday...stayed under 2000 calories. I wanted under 1800 especially since I didnt exercise that morning but anything under 2000 counts as on-plan for me.

So far eating today is perfect (ok so its only 10:30 in the morning)

I am trying to get really ramped up for the next 4 days before my Dr. weigh in.

Rock and Roll quote of the day:

Don't just sit back, kick back, and watch the world get bushwacked. - Smash Mouth, Walking On The Sun

Given how lazy I felt this morning, I'll let you off with 8 miles this time... I also try to stay under 2000 calories a day however I have no idea if I actually stick to that number as I haven't yet taken time to count calories.

Have you managed to sneak onto the scale this week to check up on your pre medical visit weigh in?

Got meetings this morning but wanted to do a quick pop in.

Snuck on scale yesterday....276.2

I can get that 275 by Tuesday easy...If I don't screw it up.

Did I mention that a donut shop opened this week about a half a block from my office?

So far I have been strong. I have had no fast food in 27 days and Im counting donuts as fast food.

Start doing laps around the block so you'll get to pass by the donut shop several times.

My old fitness club had the treadmills facing the window and right across the parking lot was a chinese buffet... used to be nice to be drenched in sweat thinking to myself that the very buffet that helped make me fat was providing motivation to get back in shape...

Great job on getting so close to 275. Definitely should make it by Tuesday barring any unforeseen cheeseburger incident...

Fg- No donut breakdowns yet...oh yeah the new donut place is donut place by morning and burger shack by afternoon....I think it opened just to tempt me but judging by the line at the drivethru it is tempting the whole town.

After my meeting this morning they broke to go have lunch together at this really good home cookin place......I didnt go.....Eventually I will have to deal with situations like that but not yet. I have been doing too well. Maybe with a few more pounds off I will experiment with restaurant survival.

Good news....I have on a pair of pants that I have not been able to wear in a while. They were soooo tight last time I tried them on that I put em in the back of my closet and I uncovered them this morning and put them on with no trouble at all.

275 by tuesday......Then I will take a hard look at my plan and set some new goals. A few more pounds and I might venture on a walk/jog No doubt mostly walk.

Get up, get back on your feet, you're the one they can't beat, and you know it. - Styx, Fooling Yourself

that donut shop is infested with roaches and has e coli all over the countertops. Just sayin'

Good job avoiding it, and restaurant food in general. I've been avoiding eating out also. My family makes a sunday brunch at a mexican american family style restaurant every week and I've not gone all month. Yay us!!

And, Yay on the pants!

chocolate covered e coli.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I think that would count as a negative food as any calories you take in would be lost in the subsequent battle for survival...

Time to revise that list of goals... let's see a few activity related goals in the mix

Hey Brawny

Thanks for your kind "megaphone announcement" in my diary...I can always get a good laugh from your posts and stay motivated! I'm still jet lagged, so not really up on anyones diary yet...but thought I'd drop you a "Thank you" note just the same! Back to work tomorrow!

Sarah

Sorry no posts yesterday guys...I was home with a sick kid. My wife had a heavy patient load (physical therapist) and I have like 30 sick days in the bank so I stayed home with my daughter.

I weighed in on my scale this morning at 274.2 but at the Dr I was 277.6.

Still thats 22lbs down since my last Dr visit.

I gotta ge a new scale at home. That thing is possessed. I step on it 3 times one after the other and get 3 different numbers that vary by 3-5lbs.

So I have been taking the middle one. Hey at least they are going down.

My original goal was 279 by Dr so Im counting it as met. I wanted 275 and on my scale at home I got that

Soooo....Since I started at 297 on the scale at home and Im now 274 thats.....hmmmmmm (thinkin hard....takes off shoes counts on toes....) 23lb lost!!!

The difference between scales suck! But really, as a measurment tool to tell you you are going in the right direction its okay. I got my new scale in and I'm in love. Everytime I get on it its a lower number (unless I get on it twice in a row on the same day, then its blissfully the same number and not jumping around all over the place). Hope your sick kid gets better and that those germs don't transfer to anybody else in the household.

Goals for Feb.

Ride 180 miles on bike (did 165 in Jan)

Be in the 260s by Valentines day. Thats 5lbs. (using old scale #s when new one gets here may change a bit.

Be 264 or lower by leap years day.

Add push up and crunches and chair dips twice a week

Stretch more.(I am sooo tight)

Note when people comment about my weight loss...happened twice today but it was by people who work for me so the kiss up factor may have been in play.

Long term goal:

Go back to Dr. April 6...want below 250 by then and vastly improved diabetes #s (did a little better today)

Somebody pass the salad please....I said the salad...not the dressing!

More miles in less days? You animal! You can do it, every lbs you lose it'll get easier. And, you got 264 in the bag. You'll probably lap me pretty soon, I better pick up the pace.

hey brawny, those goals look super solid! What is your glucose reading these days? Are you on meds? It'd be GREAT if you got it under control. I am rooting for you!
