Thanks feeling gooder

To quote Ferris Bueller's day off "You are a Righteous Dude"

I am about to take my daughter to the dentist and then we have this thing that anytime its just she and I we go to chick-fil-A. I will be getting grilled chicken and no fries so I still say that I havent had fast food.

I still have like 900 calories left so Im good....If I can fight off the munch devils later tonight

Getting back into fast food restaurants and picking through the menu to come up with healthy options is a good step forward and I'd agree that you still haven't had fast food. You get bonus points in my opinion for keeping a very nice tradition going with your daughter.

Sometimes you have to get very creative when you step through those doors but if this is going to work long term we'll all need to figure out how to eat at restaurants and come up with healthy options.

Oh Brawny77...you teaser...I love Chick fil-A...I can taste them as I type it! All they have here in China is KFC...not the same...not even close! Enjoy your time with your daughter and Chick Fil-A...have a bite for me!

Sarah

Ate well at Chick fil-a...had a grilled chicken wrap..no fries...then I came home and did way too much nibbling. I just kinda kept on nibbling and not on good stuff either. I ate like bugles ans some breakfast sausage that was left over. I even thought...your gonna not be happy about this tomorrow...and Im not.

Rode 9.2 miles on bike this morning to begin my pennance

Ahhh penance... working on that myself for the burger yesterday... not so much the burger as the toppings which could have been better.

Time to make with the healthy snacks at home Mr Brawny... brown paper bag + hot air popcorn kernels = low fat snack. Still working on finding good ideas for toppings, best I've found so far was a suggestion to use something called nutritional yeast as a topping. Apples + natural peanut butter also quite tasty.

Hey Brawny,

Don't be too hard on yourself...and I agree with feelinggooder...get some fresh fruits at home for snacks...I don't trust myself with chips etc at home...easier said than done I know. I read somewhere to eat only things with 1 ingredient and you'll lose weight...also, read the labels...if your brain can't figure out the ingredient...what makes you think your liver can eliminate it...and if your liver is spending all it's time eliminating these types of chemicals, then it can't spend time processing fat! It sounds good to me...of course I have not facts to back up these statements...but it does sound good!

Have a great weekend and pedal well...and safely!

Sarah

Oh my gosh I just typed this big post and poof it disappeared......uhhggg

Here's the readers digest version:

1.Having trouble munching too much 7-10p.m. Gonna push dinner back till 6 or 6;30 so it will stay with me later

2. Going to choose better food and not be trapped by the stuff my fit and tall teenage sons are scarfing.

3. Going to add other things besides my bike. I am getting bored with it.

Gotta go to meetings my friends. see ya on Monday

I hope I have pushed at least a couple of pounds away.

Great idea to move the mealtime back to 6:30 or so. Maybe include a snack around 3pm to bridge the long gap between lunch and dinner.

Hitting rancho del brawny this weekend for more woodcutting and exercise? Hope you have/had a great weekend and will see you back here on Monday.

Frustration....I really hate to type this number but I weighed in at 280. I really thought I would get a pound or 2 off.

Did a little soul searching and here is the honest truth.

It has been like two weeks since I have strung 3 or 4 good days together.

I have been nibbling too much. Especially in the evenings.

I have not allocated the time to ramp up my exercise. In fact a few days I have decreased it...not because I can't handle it but rather because I didnt get up early enough.

My body has reached the point where it is hanging on to calories jealously.

These must be the reasons. At the beginning of my plan doing what I did last week would have got me a 2-3 lb. loss but it's not cutting it for where I am now.

This week I am gonna weigh every day. If that scale doesnt start downward I am gonna continue to ramp it up till it does. Added crunches and pushups this morning.

I can see where your frustration comes from, and when you really sit down and take stock and have to own that you could have done better it just makes your journy all the more meaningful because, instead of being blind, you sat down...did the math and came up short. Now that you have realization under your belt I hope this week rocks for you.

Sorry to hear that you've been hitting a plateau lately. Sounds like you are all set to refocus and push past that wall which is good to hear.

Maybe adding a food journal for the next week would also help shed light and help figure out additional things you can change.

With the new focus and exercise you've already started I have a feeling you'll soon be seeing quick results this week.

dont worry maybe you will get lucky and experience a big kerplunk in your weight. Dropping several pounds at once. if you can add more veggies around dinner time it helps last longer. i usually cook up a bunch of sugar snap peas or broccoli with my dinner. the greens have very low calories per serving so you can sorta fill up on them and not feel guilty. i usually have a light dinner and heavy on the greens to fill up. its helped me anyway. something like an apple takes a decent time to digest too if you have one late and they are only like 35 calories. keep pushing that plateau you will break through.

Hey Brawny77,

I understand your frustration...and I hope it gets better soon... As you said, only You can be honest with You. I'd suggest setting your alarm 15 minutes earlier and go ahead and get up (easier said than done...I know, but it is doable...and worth the effort!). Switch it up a little bit if you can...like someone (...you???) told me..keep your body guessing! Keep making good food choices and exercising...the weight will come off...it has to!

Good luck!

Sarah

HEY! Where are you? Hows your weigh everyday thing going? I tried that the last two days and have already thrown my hands up in the air in submission, 241, 246, 240.8...body weight fluctuates sooooo much!
