BmOhearn's diary

That ALL sounds great! (Well not the ick, need more pay bit).

It's great when you are looking for the chance to add in more movement and you get the chance!! :D

Sounds good Bmo but be careful of low calories. Under 1000 isn't healthy even if you don't feel like more it can cause binging after a few days. I love the fact that your walking everyday!!! It is a great goal and you are doing well. Also the 24 hour walk you are doing sounds very cool. Your co-workers are smoking crack. Just because their selfish booties can't see doing something for a greater good doesn't mean they should be able to make you feel down. You are doing great:)

That will bring my total calories for the day up to 830 calories. I know it doesnt seem like a lot...but its plenty of food for me.

No my dear - it isn't!

Don't go being unhealthy on us ok? Trust me, you will regret this later!
Don't go less then 10 calories per pound of body weight.

Sincerely,
Forum Mother In Training

M-you are definately the forum mother!

And is that really the amount of calories you are supposed to have? 10 per pound of body weight?? That is WAY more then i've been eating.

Thankyou mishi. people can be dumb sometimes.
Felici-i've been trying to be good.

Today i woke up and went to dunkin donuts. Bad idea. I had 1 donut (200 calories), and a large caramel ice coffee... with like 7 sweet and lows. (no calories for the sweet and low) the coffee was 20 calories for 10 oz. i had a large. No idea how many ounces that was. I'll assume it was 20 oz. With all the ice that it was filled with... it was impossible to get more than that in there.

So now we're up to 240 calories.

Then i went home and had 4 mini tacos. I didn't know the exact nutritional value, so i looked up taco bell's nutrition. 820 calories.

so now i have 1060. Still not bad.

then i went to my mother's house. i had a VERY VERY small piece of corn bread, and 2 spoonfuls of baked beans. probably another 100 calories for the baked beans. (and thats WAY over estimating.) the corn bread was probably another 180 calories.

so the grand total for today was 1340 calories. WOW. a lot better than i had thought.

No exercise today. It was raining. (So much for running in the rain.) But i was exhausted when i got home, and decided i'd rather get my sleep.

I worked really hard on my cake decorating project and only got "probably" in the C range. I've never had that happen to me before. I cried a little. I won't lie. lol.

I've been doing good on my water drinking.

Tomorrow here is what i plan on doing:

Caramel coffee for breakfast with a 90 calorie granola bar. (110 calories)
I'm not sure about lunch yet. Something filling...but not too unhealthy. I"m thinking about a salad with a half sandwich.
For dinner i'm going to be at work. So i will bring another granola bar.

Its 11:15. I'm going to go to bed now, and see if i have the motivation to wake up early-go on a 15 minute walk-come back and take a shower, and still leave for school on time.

I have to read a chapter for school tomorrow first-almost forgot.

Good night.

Hi bm.

M2M is 100% right about how many calories you need to lose weight without causing yourself other problems. I hope when you said 1350 was better than you thought you meant it wasn't as low as you thought, not that it wasn't as high as you thought!! I'm not sure what you weigh now but I'm sure you would need at least 1350 for the day.

The cake decorating thing would have been hard. I've had similar things happen to me and it did hurt. However, those things can also help us learn what will serve us better in future. The only way to prevent it happening would be if you didn't put in a big effort in the first place, and that would be far more damaging. :) Keep valuing the hard work you do. :)

The salad and sandwich lunch sounds good , especially if there is a little protein in that sandwich! :)

i'm horrified with myself. i thought that if i made rather good choices with what i ate...i'd lose weight. well i weigh more then when i started.

i guess i was wrong. i'm so disappointed. But i'm tired of being like this. so i'm starting to be strict. I"m going to aim to burn 500 calories a day, and eat 500 calories less then i usually would. I will cut out useless calories like juices and non-diet sodas.

To make myself more in the mood to be motivated...i went out and got myself fake nails. I also aimed to make a video in 6 months. i don't know about what...but something. i will upkeep my nails. And i will stop doing stupid things.

Like...
i will stop getting fast food. Why should i spend money on food. Its food from home...or nothing.

i will stop drinking drinks will calories. why waste them?

i will stop choosing sleep over exercise. I will walk whenever i hav the chance. And force myself to... even when it is inconvenient.

So lets pretend i am starting again. I have no way of paying for fast food now. Because i need to pay for my nails. Good incentive??

I have a food plan for tomorrow:

Breakfast: 8:00am. a cup of ice coffee,a yogurt.

Lunch: around 4:00 i think. (thats when i have my break for work)a turkey sandwich on wheat bread. No cheese. and a bottle of water.

Dinner: i get out around 9:00, so probably about 9:30pm. a half of a caesar salad. and a bottle of water.

i dont know how many calories that is exactly...but estimating i'd say about...1000.that doesnt sound too good. but whatever. i will probably eat a little more then that. i will have a full caesar salad when i leave work.

If i can even get 1 day down. I'll feel happy. i need to get out the cravings for unneccessary carbs, and for sweets. and for random eating spurts. then i'll be back on track.

Good luck on getting back on track. Have you used fitday.com or sparkpeople.com? It is really nice when you can see the actual amounts of food and calories you are eating. It is a bit of a pain in the butt to keep it up but if you do and you aren't losing you should be able to see why if it's your eating program. You can also track your exercises there too. You are doing so well in that you aren't giving up and throwing in the towel:) Good job!

Morning BmO,

Good for you for committing to be back on track! You can do it, I love the fact that you broke down specific goals and plans of what you're going to do.

Don't stress over what's behind you, just move forward from this point!!

You really are coming up with increasingly good plans bm. I believe you will achieve what you want because you keep after your goal, and because you continue to develop your ideas.

:)

So i have been doing awesome.

Friday was the first day of my diet. Here's what i had:

Breakfast: cup coffee with sweet n low
Lucky charms with 2% milk (it was a huge bowl)((675 calories for breakfast all together))
Lunch: a half of a caesar salad, with half a packet of dressing. (195)
Dinner: a low cal wrap (70) with 3 steak tips, and a 1/4 cup of rice pilaf.

((the lucky charms were bad because of the sugar, but thats all i could find. and i was going to be at work for the day. So,i figured i needed the extra cals.))

Saturday was even better

Breakfast: a plain bagel (270) with barely any cream cheese. But i will count 1 serving anywho. (90)

Lunch: 8 Grilled Tuscan chicken wings. ((208 calories))
a half of a garden salad.(i'm assuming about 30 calories. i just ate lettuce and 1 cucumber) and a low fat AMAZING dressing. 10 calories.

Dinner: 5 Tuscan chicken wings- 130 calories
2 half salads...so 1 whole salad. 60 calories for lettuce and stuff, and 2 packets of that still AMAZING dressing((20 cals.))
And 1 dinner roll. ((140))
then i had an icecream bar because i knew i needed more calories. And i had a bad craving. 270 calories

Calorie Total for the Day on Saturday:: 1268. awesomeness

Today so far has been decent.

Breakfast:: 2 oreo's (150), a raisin bagel (270) with MINIMAL butter.

420 for breakfast. I dont know what is up for Lunch, but for dinner i am going to have another salad with low fat dressing. (40 calories) and a dinner roll (140)

So for lunch i plan to add some protein, but i'm not sure what else to do.

My planned calorie total before lunch will be only at 600, so i definately need a healthy lunch.

I havent exercised since i started my diet, but i think i've been pretty good.

Ok. So i had lunch. it was a cheeseburger wrap. but i had some chips. I CANNOT eat a sandwich without eating chips.i just can't do it. But i kept it to 1 serving.

Lunch: a cheeseburger that was a size i could put it in my palm. On a wheat wrap (70) with 1 serving of ranch dressing (140) and 11 chips (150) with VERY minimal amounts of red onion, pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce. (I"d probably estimate 25 calories for all that i put in it)

So i think my total comes to somewhere around 685. That means i'm up to 1085 calories today.

I just found out that my family is having dinner tonight. roast beef, mashed potatoes...etc. i can't eat that!!! I need to have my salad for dinner. I should probably just have the salad and not a dinner roll though. I dont need the extra carbs.i had a raisin bagel for breakfast, and a wrap with chips for lunch. no more of that for me today.

I'm going to exercise today i hope. I want to set up my ab chair, do 50 sit ups, and do some bench lifts too.

I have to work tonight though. 5:30 to 9:30. Not too shabby.

I'm going to go play my game now. and try not to concentrate on how much i just ate!!

You know roast beef is pretty good food - if you think it has been cooked in fatty way, you could still trim the fat and just not eat a big slice of it. Mashed potato is potentially ok - but I guess it depends how much fat has been added to it. You could eat 400-500 calories after lunch and still have a fine day as far as calories go.

It's a good thought setting up the ab chair. I remember you seemed pretty keen on that before. I really think if you are trying to get started on exercising after a break that it's good to get the habit going with things that you will look forward to. Can you still do that computer dance game (is it called DDR)? Anyway it's good to have something you look forward to with your exercise. After all, having made the effort to eat healthy and study and go to work and everything don't you deserve to feel good from some exercise?

I hope you have great week. :)

yesterday's food...1/2 of a small pizza.

today's food... 8 bbq pork ribs.

i might have a few more though. they were awesome.

cool.

thats it.

hi bm - i havent stopped by here in a long time now! hope you are okay and not working yourself too hard. dont be too harsh on yourself with the calories girl :) you can lose without doing that - you already did remember.
are you still doing HIIT?
xx

I haven't posted here in a while. I promise i'll start again. Every time i stop...my diet gets ruined. lol. SO i'm back for good.

Today's Breakfast: 1 grilled cheese sandwich with 3 slices of cheese. I didnt count calories...but the bread was white, so i bet it had a lot. I'll update with the amount of calories when I go back upstairs to eat lunch.

I am going to lift weights before i go to work today @ 4:00.

My lunch is going to be some pasta. Probably not the best choice...but there isnt much in the house. I'll have a salad for dinner.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to go chill out for a few minutes, take my shower, eat some lunch, clean my room, lift weights, and then go to work.

Hi Bmo!!! Nice to hear from you! I hope that things are going well. I totally agree that posting here helps so much!! At least you don't give up!!! Welcome back and good luck on your plan!

Hello! I havne't been by in a long while, and it was past time I stopped in here to say hello! It's great that you're back too. I did the same thing. I kinda stopped coming and posting here, and bam, 10lbs back on. :D Keep up the good work!

I agree the diaries really help.

There is not a ton of difference in the calories between white and wholegrain bread. The reason the wholegrain is more helpful when you are trying to lose weight is that it will fill you up better for longer and help keep your blood sugar levels more stable so that you are less likely to have to deal with hunger and cravings. White bread tends to lead to spikes and dips in your blood sugar levels and both those things contribute to overeating.

It is great that you are putting all this effort in to addressing your weight issues now and also finding out more about them. Personally I stuck doggedly to the idea that all calories were equal for many years and I honestly think that was the main reason it took me so long to get over yo-yo dieting.

It's really good to see you. :)
