bluehats diary

so when i went to the store to shop
i saw soups i can eat on sale
but no funds by this time of month
to take advantage of sales
so since i know half a can of soup
is only 1 cup i went with a different idea
and that was
resorting to some foods that are only a buck
way way unhealthy but also will at least
give some calories
as a cup of soup wont even give 200 calories
not the kind i can eat anyway

the dollar foods are bags of chips
which are roughly 1200 calories a bag
so i was able to get 8 bags
which works out to be
16 days at around 600 calories
that beats less than 200 for half a can of soup

and yes there were cucumbers on sale
that i could afford
if i could eat them
and if they provided any significant calories

it would be better if i could make a soup
but the fresh veggies wont keep
until i can gather enough
especially since the sale prices are rare
i have no cold storage or freezer
so frozen veggies wont do

and the cheapest blender we could find
70 bucks broke
but its past the time they will take it back

its just a corner im backed into i guess

well the chips didnt go over good
as can be expected with no teeth
and massive gum pain swelling
so im just drinking the leftover boosts
that i received from the food bank
by a professional person i know
whos allowed to check there sometimes for me

I'm glad it's getting better, although it's taking its time :grouphug:

l finally went for a post surgery appt.
and he said its healing well
but there are bone fragments
which is causing the pain still
and either way whether i get them
removed or let them fall out
that it will take 6 months to 1 year for all the healing to be done
yikes
waaaaay longer than i ever thought
but its on the way

sooo my update--

eating a can or 2 of soup a day
and 1 or 2 boosts

not too bad
just difficult to figure
out some protein
im intolerant to pork beef and chicken and dairy

as for weight
i havent checked
its likely not a good answer anyway
and if its not theres nothing more
i can do
so i figure
why cause more upset

You're doing what you can and that's all you can do. I remember when I had my wisdom teeth removed the last bone splitter came out almost a year after surgery. It got easier a lot before that though: most of the fragments came out in the first month or two.

yay it came out last night
hopefully the last 1

so food today---

1 can alphagettis
1 can beefaroni
2 cups choc. soymilk
i found the soymilk on sale so had that instead of boosts
at least its something different

ive been looking into a less processed food diet
and i found something from OA
the grey sheet diet
the low carb plan
its basically like this
as far as i can tell--

B
1 fruit
1 protein

L
1 vege
1 protein
1 finger salad

S
same as L

and of course there are the lists you choose these foods from

i may do that as there appears to be very little processed foods on it
its intended for low carb and weight loss
but seems to fit unprocessed foods too
depending on your choices

i would not be able to do the finger salads as they are
raw veggies.
so id just have the veggies and protein
ha idk
couldnt til next month anyway
when paid next
but i will look into it more
see what id have to buy and how to work it
around my food intolerances and the costs
it just sounds better then the cans of sugar n salt i eat now

it may be a pretty limited food plan
as i cant eat many sources of protein
due to intolerances
it really just leaves me shredded cheeses
cottage cheeses
i guess i could alternate them

did a weight a few days ago for a phone dr appt.
with a specialist
and
its down 1 pound
yay at least im not gaining

whats going to happen when my gums feel better?
do i even want to know?

and so here she comes
yep
4 pounds UP
in 2 weeks
so as i wish i had of
100 pounds ago
i will try to nip this in the bud
be4 its worse
part to blame will be the new med
but i will still fight it

on even numbered days two meals
on odd numbered days one meal

if this doesnt work
i reassess

so todays an odd numbered day

i had 1200 calories
consisting of canned beans and cheesies

the beans were a little rough
but im learning to swallow things
without chewing
have not taken to pureed foods that dont
normally come in this fashion
