BlueDragon's Diary

Diary

Going to the massage tomorrow which Im looking forward to. Holland & Barrett were doing a penny deal on vitamins so I ordered some high strength niacin, high strength vitamin c, flaxseed oil, and garlic oil. Hopefully itll help improve my mood and also my general health. Got them in the post today.

Ive spent all of today in bed being depressed. Im slowly easing myself out of it and drinking lots of water as well. Smoked a couple of cigarettes which isnt good but a month without is good going, and Ill start again once this mood shifts.

Made a really nice lunch of couscous and salad with chicken. Also ate some chocolate cookies. I havent bought sweets in about 6 months-! Its my birthday on sunday, Ill be 25. To celebrate Im playing a gig tomorrow which shall be nice. On sunday my housemate and I are buying cheese and port and watching a movie. I know its not good for the diet but I think abit of indulgance might help lift me alittle.

Im not happy that I havent exercised this week and am dreading going on the scales tomorrow.

Hope you guys are having a good week.

Hi, BlueDragon. I've been reading your journal, but have not yet chimed in. I hope you can lift out of this mood soon. The gig and movie sound like a great way to celebrate your birthday. What instrument do you play? Let us know how the massage goes.

You know what? maybe skip the scales and go for a swim instead when you can. :) Then you can ease your way back on track. Could be another good way to celebrate on Sunday. Have a happy 25th!!

Sorry you are doing poorly lately. Know that when you can make yourself get moving again that it will easier the next time. Not that I can imagine what you are dealing with, but I know exercise helps with depression.

I agree with GreenSurf. Skip the scales and take a swim!

I hope your 25th is a good one!

:grouphug::party:HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!:party::grouphug:

Hey guys, been on a bit of a downer the past week, my birthday was really nice thanks, I played a gig to celebrate :)

Diary

Ive been too anxious to exercise this week, but I did manage to swim once which is good. I just have to ease back into it again. Im also incredibly poor this week so my diet is rather shameful.

Exercise:
30 minute walk to and from work

food:
Porridge
rice and chicken nuggets
Porridge with some left over protein shake and milk

Welcome Back! Sorry you're having such anxiety. It's great that you've still managed a swim and some walking. What do you play (instrument/type of music)?

Being broke sucks so much. It' sthankfully been a long time, but I have certainly been there. Hope payday is soon for you! Hang in there BlueDragon!

Heya Quercus, I'm hanging in there! Ive tweeked my medication a bit to see if it helps. I play saxophone and bass guitar, I'm in 6 projects at the moment, everything from psychedelic space rock to prog to improvised jazz or metal, it's my main hobbie :)

Diary

Yesterdays diet consisted of rice and ketchup, and then protein shake with porridge. My stomach hasnt been happy with me today.

Today a friend lent me some money and I also went to a gig with free food so I got some protein in. Plus people were buying me drinks.

Sausage sandwich from cafe
Half an egg salad sandwich from garage
A piece of quiche, an egg roll, a piece of bbq rib, 2.5 beers and a coffee at gig

Exercise:
I went to a club last night so danced for a couple hours

That's cool! If you have anything online share or PM a link.

I hope the med tweak helps.

Being broke sucks! It used to be ketchup spaghetti or toast with mustard in my really broke days. That's probably why I hate ketchup.

Here's a broke person food tip:
If you mix ramen noodles with Taco Bell hot sauce it tastes exactly like poverty.

This is from one project, The Awakening, I play bass

Diary

Yesterday was my first bit of exercise in a while, I went for a walk for three hours. I met a photographer on the bus and we went around a place called Rivelin the next day taking pictures. Here's a pic:

I ate porridge and then he bought me pizza.

Today I am going vegetarian, so I bought some tofu, lentils and quorn mince.

Food:
Porridge
Egg salad sandwich
mini packet of buttons and mini cheddars
Rice, quorn mince and chopped tomatoes with mixed veg, spray oil
two cups of herbal tea

I have been taking vitamins everyday for the past couple of weeks to help my mood, and I think it is working. Vitamin C, flaxseed oil and niacin. When I get paid Im going to buy some vitamin b complex and zinc as well. I also have some garlic capsules but they make my breath smell >.<

To help my mood I reduced my antipsychotic, as it makes me rather unhappy sometimes given it flattens my mood. It also causes me to gain weight, so hopefully will see me lose a couple inches over the next month or so. My diagnosis was changed from schizophrenia to borderline personality disorder last week as ive worked hard to deal with the hallucinations... which means one day i will be off medication entirely. im looking forward to that time.

That's great news on your diagnosis change! The hard work is paying off. I like your music a lot. Kind of stoner/ambient, but not quite. I'll work through the your other videos from there. Good stuff!

That's a nice picture. The flowers are an Iris in case you didn't know. Possibly English Iris (Iris latifolia), but it's hard to tell with it still budding. Pretty regardless.

Its a relief :) Thanks, they're the guitarist's videos.

Ah I wasn't aware of that, I don't know alot about flowers.

Vegetarianism is going well, yesterday consisted of lentils and rice and I had the same today.

Exercise:
Half hour walk into town. Took my camera with me, and took some pictures. I'm hoping the more I do it the better I'll get.

Food:
Porridge with protein shake
Costa coffee
Lentils and rice with ketchup

Have run out of money until payday.

Yesterday ate rice and beans, and then rice with quorn and chopped tomatoes. Also walked for half an hour to a gig.

Diary

Rice with pesto
will eat the same later for dinner

Bummer, I hope payday is soon! I miss a lot of my adventures from my younger years, but I don't miss being broke all the time.

what's quorn? is that corn? Good job on your journey so far you seem to have a solid consistency which will for sure pay off.

Glad to see things are getting better for you! Hopefully they continue that way :) Focus on the positive and keep remember why you are doing what you are doing and what your final goal is.

Quorn is a meat substitute, it's pretty good, quorn mince is really tasty, soaks up flavours from sauce really well

I've started going to the Hearing Voices Network meetings and have been working on using Mindfulness to help control the symptoms, it's going really well.

Diet is going well, I've started to cut out buying food from work by making a large portion of rice to eat throughout the day. On sunday I went for a 4 hour walk. The first 2 hours were all uphill and I was red faced by the time we had our break-! We went to a pub for lunch but we were good and shared a halloumi wrap and a mozzarella salad.

Food:
Porridge and protein shake
Large portion of rice with veggie sausages
Porridge when got back

Exercise:
half hour walk to and from work

Diary

Sorry for disappearing again, I had a bit of a bad relapse a couple of weeks ago and have had to up my medication, so all Ive been doing is working, eating and sleeping and occasional band rehearsals.

Today for the first time in months after much anxiety I went to the gym-! and it was okay, I didnt have any problems except abit of anxiety walking back. I weighed myself and I am now 168 pounds. This is exactly the motivation I need to keep going, Ive lost near half a stone, it's great to be back in the 160's.

How have things been with you guys?

Food
Porridge with protein
Rice, quorn and chopped tomatoes with abit of tikka masala sauce for taste

Exercise
30 minutes x-trainer
30 minutes walk to and from work

Welcome Back!

That sucks that you had a rough spell. Awesome that you've lost weight and are getting back to it. That's the key for everyone. It isn't that you get off track, but that you get back on it as soon and for as long as you can. I hope things continue to smooth out for you.

As far as how i've been; I'm still running and fitting into smaller clothes. I'm still slow and have a long way to go with running and fatloss, but I'm doing it. I can't pretend I don't wish it would go a lot faster, but i'm trying to stay patient.

Take care and congrats again on 168!

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about your rough times, but I'm happy things are getting put back together for you. Also glad the scale is still tipping in your favor. :)
