Diary

I went back to the gym today and my weight is now 167 pounds. I was so pleased that I did an hour on the x-trainer. Ive decided to do that three times a week for awhile, and then get someone to help me sort out a routine for using weights.

I have realised I have a bit of an addiction to cheese, I seem to eat it nearly everyday.. This is something I intend to stop doing or at least to limit how much I eat.

Exercise:
half hour walk into town
hour on x-trainer

Food:
Porridge with protein
Rice lentils and korma sauce
Porridge with protein (still poor!)
 
Diary

Today was a day of depression and i didnt get out of bed until 3pm, luckily the rain motivated me to move and i went for a 2 hour walk in the dark. Dipped my toes in the river, it was just what I needed.

Food
Porridge and protein
Rice and korma sauce with lentils
Porridge and protein

I get paid tomorrow so will be able to buy better food to eat
 
Have been working non-stop lately, and with depression in the way I havent been able to exercise. I expect Ive lost weight this month however as Ive only been able to afford tinned food with rice or potatoes for the past 3 weeks. Im no longer experiencing cravings for food which is good, which I expect is due to not only my diet but reducing the antipsychotic medication.

Im sorry for not updating more, I will keep checking in, hope you are all well.
 
New Start: Diary

Right. New medication, better quantities of food, lets get started.

Ran for 40 minutes in nearby field.

Today I will eat:
Porridge
Protein shake
Pasta
Turkey
2 bottles of diet coke
some chewits
1 yoghurt
 
Great to see you again! I hope the new meds treat you well. I had to look up chewits. I guess they are like our starbursts or now & laters. Awesome run!
 
I'm abit addicted to them at the moment. They don't contain much sugar so I don't feel bad eating them :) It's great to hear from you Q, how are you doing?

Have been working over the past few days and forgot to update what I am eating. I'm basically only eating 2 meals a day at the moment with healthy snacks like fruit (or chewits!) inbetween.

Today I had sultana bran for breakfast, and a ham sandwich around 430pm. I had a pint of coke and a strawberry nojito down the pub, it was lovely.

As for exercise, on saturday I went out dancing. I gave up alcohol 2 months ago so I just had coke. Today was spent tidying and cleaning, which probably burnt off a couple of calories.

Will go running tomorrow morning, and then off to the gym to ask to sort out a weight training regime. I have a bit more money then last time, so, I'm also thinking about starting a dance class.. Either salsa or belly dancing. There is also a zumba class just opposite me I might try. I get paid on friday, so, next week will be time for experimentation!
 
I think the reason I find it hard to stay motivated is because I'm not actively sharing the experience so people will not notice if I slowly stop. I will make more of an effort to use this forum.

Great! Lots of running and 38.6 pounds down as of last Sat. It's hot as crap here.

Glad to hear you're out dancing. How's not drinking going for you? I guess it's nearly 7 months for me. I don't miss it much.

Woo Hoo running! Lifting and dancing are cool too. Good to hear money isn't as tight.

Ended up going to zumba this afternoon, and then had a 15 minute run afterwards on the treadmill. Weighed myself and I am now 164 pounds! So this year I have lost 10 pounds so far. This is just the motivation I need to keep going, I hope to finally get back into the 150's soon.

Today's meals will be:
Sultana bran and milk
after workout protein shake
chicken kiev with rice and veggies

I'm watching The Hobbit part 2 later tonight, so I expect Ill be drinking coke and eating one or two jam tarts.

Diary

Today I had an induction at the gym for using weights. I'm quite excited, I've been given two programs, one for upper and one for the lower body. Did half hour of cardio afterwards then walked back home. It is a mile up a steep hill, so I must remember to count it as exercise.

Diet today:
Sultana bran
after protein shake
Tonight prob eat the last chicken kiev with veggies and rice. It goes out of date today.
Meeting up with a friend for coffee in a bit.

I weighed myself again today.. Something I don't normally do, and am now 163 pounds, which means my BMI is now under 30... Never again! I'm aiming to lose 2 pounds a week, so this is great.
 
Welcome to the wild and woolly world of weight lifting! I played college football in my youth and they made us lift so much and so heavy that I have little desire to do that. I am interested in cardio and cross-fit type stuff. But some muscle building will help you burn more calories. Have fun with it!
 
Thanks guys I quite enjoy weight lifting and being able to see my progress. I'm joining a metal band so I need to do weights anyway to play!

Diary

Yesterday I must of walked for about 2-3 hours in the countryside, danced at a gig, and walked for 45 minutes today.

Todays meals consists of sultana bran and then chicken kiev with rice later today. I'm not getting so many cravings for food anymore, I think I'm finally conquering that, I normally graze all day.

I checked today and in total Ive lost 4 inches on my body. I'm going to start a table for inches lost sometime soon.

Today is a rest day from the gym, will go back tomorrow :)
 
I am a guitar player myself! Do you play an instrument or are you a thrashing vocalist. I played in a southern rock band back in the day. My son who is 18 is already much better than me.
 
You're kicking butt Bluedragon! A metal band is awesome! What style of metal? I just got Killing Jokes MCMXII and haven't listened to them yet. I know that's more post-punk than metal, but most of the stuff I really like blurs the line. I really like stuff that would span from industrial, experimental, instrumetal, post punk, sludge, etc. Here's a short list. If you give any of them a listen and like it let me know. I've got a ton of punk/metal that is less than mainstream. You'll likely know some of these, but there may be a few new to you.

I play bass guitar and saxophone.

This band is atmospheric black metal, kind of like Alcest.

Sunn are fantastic, do you like Boris? Killing Joke are playing a festival in the UK soon, but I don't think I can afford it. I've seen Meshuggah live twice, they're great, I haven't listened to much Bauhaus.

My favourite metal bands are Drudkh, Forest Silence, Esoteric, Deathspell Omega, Verdunkeln, Walknut, Ruins of Beverest, Dolorian, Darkspace, and then Nadja who are drone.. Alot of doom and black really.

Today I ate sultana bran, a flapjack and singapore noodles.

I didn't make it to the gym. I find it hard to go before work starts as I can't figure out a good routine. This is something that needs to change.
