BikiniBound's Diary

JZ--Am I missing something about the LIons? Did they make headlines again recently??

No, I am just so used to coming in monday and sharing a bitch session with you about their shitty play... I was trying to be witty with the "this MAY lead to FLASHBACKS" thing... ya know, like I was already having one... ahhhh, I may have over thought it a bit!!! Shame on me for trying to be a funny guy!!

Oh...lol. I thought I was missing something--that they'd done something stupid to get in the news--again. :D

I feel like I'm in a LOST episode. :D Perhaps you were having a flashforward of next season--God knows things probably won't be that much different than last--they'll still suck, just not maybe quite as bad.

Hey, did you here that Tim Tebou is going back for another year at Florida... In other words, he was going to be drafted by the Lions!!! :D

LMAO! Guess he'd rather risk a pro-career ending injury with another season with the Gators than get stuck with the lowly LIons. Can't say as I blame him, but I suspected the Lions would be stupid enough to draft Tebow if given the chance.

Any word on who's gonna replace Marinelli and his son-in-law who got fired? I love how one of the reporters asked him if he wished his daughter had married a better defensive coordinator. That cracked my pregnant ass up! :D

Wow, I can't believe you only gained 13.5 lbs. That is fabulous news, great job! The trials and tribulations of pregnancy.. I remember the glucose test and all the blood tests fondly..

Claudia--You know I've been determined not to gain a ton of weight..lol. I figure even if I gain 1lb per week for the rest of my pregnancy the most I'll gain is 24lbs--which is more than I want, but definitely acceptable.

Had the breastfeeding class tonight and dragged poor H along with me. :biggrinjester: Most of the women had their significant others with them, too, and the instructor was very good. Just a bit of a drive and the roads are rather icy in patches, so that part wasn't fun. H is hoping for a "cold" day tomorrow as the low tonight is -5 and windchills as low as -20.

Spent an hour at the gym this morning--first time I've been there this week. Will probably get there again tomorrow.

Well, Henry signed the death warrant for his little kitty balls by peeing on the bathroom rug and at the bottom of the basement stairs this morning. I took his urine sample in and it came back that he probably does have a mild urinary tract infection. So I will pick up the antibiotics tomorrow. I also made an appt to get him neutered asap--which isn't for a week as that was the soonest they can get him in. :toetap05: Hopefully between the drugs and the snip-snip he'll again be the wonderful cat he was while at my parents' house. He was good the rest of the day--we were ever so grateful to come home tonight to a urine-free smelling house. :hurray: I just hope he continues to behave.

Hi Kimberly!

Happy New Year!

It's beena while since I've been on this site, but I just checked in on you today and saw that you are nearing the end of your pregnancy! How exciting!!!!! From the above post, it looks like you still make time to go to the gym, which is wonderful!

24 lbs is GREAT for pregnancy---I'm not sure what your doc said, but too little isn't good either :).

Do you know if it's a boy or a girl (sorry I've been MIA too long to knwo if you've aleady mentioned this!)?

If you start putting on lots of weight now its likely to be the baby and all the fluids, its at the beginning when hormones start changing and appetite increases, yet the baby weighs like an ounce, that is bad as its mostly fat (blah). So you really weathered that great! I actually lost 30 lbs in the first two weeks after having the baby, so much of that was baby and extra fluids obviously. Unfortunately the other 30 lbs was flab and it didn't come off easily at all, in fact some of its still hanging around. So very wise of course not to back track. You are doing just awesome, I can't believe you have the energy to go to the gym! Did you do all the little gender things yet?

Wow! Nice set of buns. :biggrinjester:

Good to hear from ya again. We didn't find out the sex of the baby. 24lbs is great for a woman of normal weight, but b/c I was overweight to start with, my OB said to aim for 10-15lbs. That is probably not gonna happen, but I'd like to keep it under 20. :)

Claudia--According to my baby books, here's the breakdown on where the weight goes in the avg 30lb gain pregnancy:
Baby--7.5lbs
Placenta--1.5lbs
Amniotic fluid--2lbs
Uterine enlargement--2lbs
Maternal breast tissue--2lbs
Maternal blood volume--4lbs
Fluids in maternal tissue--4lbs
maternal fat stores--7lbs

I am finding it harder to work out, but I am still plenty able to do it. I think it's b/c I haven't gained a lot, and am tall and large framed so it's easier for me to carry the baby than someone petite like yourself. I know several women at my gym who worked out until shortly before they gave birth.

Steve--Thanks for stopping by!

Well, H did not get his "cold" day today, although they delay school for 2hrs as it was colder than a witches' hooha. It was a hectic day b/c a lot of the buses wouldn't start due to the cold or broke down. Tomorrow is supposed to be colder b/c of wind chills, so I suspect there's a really good chance they will cancel school tomorrow.

Got Henry's antibiotics today. He got more on himself and my bedspread than in him..lol. Had to wash the bedspread as it was covered in pink splotches. Won't give it to him there again!

Granny has no water at her house--we thought her pipes had frozen at first, but it looks like it's more likely something to do with the well pump or pipe from the well to the house. The guy who drilled the well a few years ago is coming tomorrow morning to check it out. She was in such a tizzy when I got there today. I think I finally got her calmed down. Of course going to bingo tonight will help I'm sure--especially if she wins. :D

Keeping my fingers crossed this RE deal goes through. I'm afraid my buyer may back out due to the survey. :(

Didn't make it to the gym today--just had too much to get done.

Hi Kimberly,

I've been MIA for a long time, but I've been lurking from time to time and now I'm back!

It sounds as if very good things've been happening in your life! I'm very happy for you! Don't stress too much about the weight, each of my wives gained 40lbs or more on every pregnancy (I've got 3 boys) and we're able to lose it all afterward (breastfeeding helps that). Keeping active and eating properly is most important, but it seems you are doing that.

Hope the RE deal works out for you! We're having cold weather here too, nothing like where you are, but CT is pretty temperate normally so we're all whining about weather that you'd likely welcome.

David

as it was colder than a witches' hooha.

Ive never heard this expression before:biggrinjester:LOL

WOW sounds like the weather we have been having over here, thankfully it seems all the snow is outta the system for awhile and it has finally warmed up:D

That is awesome about your 13 lbs:) I know this last time around wiht my pregnancy I was very catious to not gain alot of weight but also being sicker than a dog helped wonders:)LOL

I cant beleive you are already 30 weeks...:svengo:I think pregnancy goes by faster when it isnt you, lol!

Hey Kimberly... sounds like the coldness is brutal there!

Good luck with the deal, hope everything pans out.

It is currently 0F outside, and we're meant to get a heat wave of 20 tomorrow. And 4-7 inches of snow...oh joy. H had another 2hr delay this morning, but still had to work. The good news is that he got in a ton of hours this week--which is good b/c he has Monday off and doesn't get paid for it. The extra hours this week will make up for it.

David--So good to see you back! I would stress if I gained 40lbs, but since I haven't, I'm not stressing..lol. I didn't lose 60lbs before getting knocked up only to have to take it all off again after giving birth. That would piss me off to no end. I hate yo-yo-ing.

I always thought CT was pretty cold and snowy in winter like Mass.

Cerella--I dunno--the time is going pretty fast for me, too. And still I have no nursery.

Steve--Yes, it's brutal. When I dropped H off at work yesterday morning it was so cold the air hurt my lungs when I breathed it in. :ack2:

JZ--Snot-cicles?? :ack2: How gross! That was not a mental image I wanted to picture. :D You have a great weekend, too. :)

Hi ya doll! :hug2:

OMG - what a tease the pic you shared is! LOL
I want to see 'all' of ya please!? lmbo!

I agree w/Sheryl 100%! Yer a skinny lady with a temp. baby bump. ;)

I have perm. baby bumps and need to get them the heck off me! :D
HAHAHAHAHAHA!

This will be my year, I just know it! :)

You are doin' so great weight-wise!
*Congrat's!*

Man, I wish I could go back in time and talk to my young self...
I was so young and since I was a size 0-1 before gettin' pregger's, I just thought all the weight I was gaining was 'all baby' and it would just go *PooF!* once Cory came.
*slaps forehead*

I gained a total of 65 lbs. by delivery.

Before, I ate like a horse and never gained an ounce!
I even used to drink slimfast and then eat to try and put weight on!

*screams*

lol

You are doin' everything right sweetie. ;)

It is so hard to believe it's almost time!! :hurray:

So sorry about your weather!!
That is way too much for sure! :willy_nilly:
Y'all stay warm!

:grouphug:

<3 Stacy

JZ--:puke: :biggrinjester:

Stacy--Don't say it's almost time b/c that scares the hell out of me since I am no where near ready..lol.

I think my exercising consistantly and keeping a moderate handle on what I eat has really helped me not only keep from gaining too much, but also to help me feel better. After hearing so many women's stories of how miserable they were during pregnancy and some of the problems they had, I feel very fortunate to have had such an easy pregnancy thus far.

Yesterday I was talking to a girl who was horribly sick the whole 9 months with her first baby. Plus she had pre-eclampsia and was all swollen up and the baby was breach and she had to have a c-section. She is due in a month with her second and lost 20lbs the first trimester due to morning sickness. That didn't stick thankfully, but now she has gestational diabetes (she isn't even overweight) and says she can't wait to be done with being pregnant. I feel slightly guilty for having it so easy. I honestly feel great, and forget I'm pregnant sometimes. But, I haven't gotten the results back yet from last week's glucose test. Hopefully all is well. I am finding that I get tired a lot more easily than I used to, and tonight it wasn't so easy to get off the sofa..lol.

Well, I was worried about baby showers b/c to be honest, I don't have a lot of girlfriends who lived close by to throw me one..lol. My husband's co-worker's wife (who we are friends with) is throwing me one for David's co-workers, and yesterday my gf here said she would throw me one as well. So I'll have two showers coming up in Feb.

We certainly got the snow they predicted for yesterday. Not sure exactly, but I'd guess about 6-7 inches. H and two of his friends went to a thing called a Brew Ha Ha yesterday. A bunch of beer brewers had booths where you could get free samples. There was a $15 admission fee which gave you tickets for so many free samples. Anyway, here's a gross story for ya: H's one friend's wife dropped him off at our place and the two of them walked to the 3 guy's place (about 1.5 miles from ours). On the way there, they came upon a dead squirrel that a car had hit. His friend picks the thing up and carries it with him the rest of the way. Granted it's frozen, but still...ewww. So when they got to the 3rd friend's house, the guy skins it and puts the meat in a ziploc bag and throws the rest of it into the yard. The tail landed in the snow sticking straight up. Anyway, somehow this ziploc bag of squirrel meat is now in H's beer fridge in the garage. I'm totally grossed out b/c it's fucking ROADKILL!! :puke: I think I need to get David back to Australia before he turns into some possum stew-eating backwoods redneck!!

:puke: LMBO re: the squirrel story! :biggrinjester:

I'm not even that redneck! HAHAHAHA!

I'm in such a good mood right now..Do you know?!

:hurray: I'll be enjoying the Super Bowl for sure Feb. 1st!!! :D

I'm so happy you are gonna have 2 showers! What a blessing.

My huge shower (over 50 guests) was a major blessing for Dave and I.
The only thing we had to buy was formula once Cory was home.

Plus, they are a lot of fun bc you and the baby are bein' celebrated.

Man, I sure wish I could be there! :grouphug:

I'm so happy you have had an easy time. :hurray:

The rough stuff sucks and I was one of the women that were ill and icky the whole 9 months.
Plus, he was 2 weeks late! ..LOL..

*smoochies!*
