BikiniBound's Diary

BOO!!

Just stopping in to say hi and let you know im still lurking around these parts... I hope all is well and that you have a great New Years!!!

don't feel so bad about 0-16, my cowboys played like they deserved that record this past game against the eagles :(

Trevor

Hope the new year comes in with some better weather (highly unlikely) and continued health and blessings with your child you have floating around in ya!

:p

Hey There, wanting to wish you a very Happy New Year...:)With that lil babe your growing it will be your best one yet.Im so excited for you!

I just gave you very weird rep...My finger slipped and I touched something and it disappeared, lol...

On the way home we passed by the pothole again and saw a couple of cars also getting tows. We have been told that the city will probably reimburse us for the damage. *keeps fingers crossed* That's another downside to sudden heat after such cold weather--potholes! :ack2:

Cali's weather ain't SO bad but I've seen some heart-wrenching car wrecks on HWY 17 (windy mountain road, 2 lanes on each side, connecting Santa Cruz to San Jose) due to rain and stupid drivers who think they don't have to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN in bad weather. When I think of Michigan, and other places with blizzards and such, I think DAMN what about poor folks? That weather and subsequent hazards must be ROUGH on your cars. Cars and insurance, registration, gas, maintenance--it's all so expensive! I can't even imagine what poor folks like me would do if their cars got screwed up and they couldn't afford to fix em--and it's not like you can WALK in a blizzard (well I have no idea but I'd imagine not). I sure hope the city reimburses you!

Hey Kim, aren't you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad we don't have to watch crappy teams play sports for a while.... We instead get to focus on the good things..... namely the REDWINGS!!! Have a great NYE!!!

Sorry about your car... hope the village/county pick up the expenses!!

We were actually very surprised when we held up her letter blocks and she would recite every letter (many well before being 18 months even). We were shocked when we heard her counting past 10 and singing the whole alphabet song and knowing every letter we showed her.

AH yes, but remember, your daughter is a GEMINI :D

LOL I disliked Sesame Street when I was little--I thought it was boring!!! LOL! I remember for some reason, I was worried I'd never learn to read, and I clearly remember staying up late on Friday when I was 6, practicing reading this book over and over again until I could read it quickly and smoothly, while my mom and her friends partied ;) I studied so hard, I used to be the nervous type when I was little--I was also a worry-wart. Then when it came time to read aloud in class, I found myself the best reader out of all the kids, WAY ahead of them, and I was like "Awww dammit! All that for nuthin!" LOL! I actually have a knack for reading aloud, recently I read a children's story book to my 27 year old buddy and he enjoyed it--kiny, yes? :D I also have always got As on every essay I ever wrote, with the exception on ONE essay when I was a 4th year at University that a grad student graded, and he only gave me a B because he didn't agree with my Point of View. I still liked the guy, I teased him that I was going to frame it and hang it on my wall because it was the only essay in my entire LIFE that I got less than an A-, hahaha! Now MATH, that is a different story....:( I was great with Algebra but once I hit Calculus.....

Kids all develop differently. Wasn't it Einstein who couldn't even talk until he was way older than the expected age? But yeah, supplements are GREAT!!

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by. I don't have a lot of time to reply, but wanted to check in since it's been several days.

We moved into the condo!! :svengo:

Did it on Tuesday. Things are still topsy turvy, but I'm starting to get things settled. Should be pretty decent by Sunday. But I have no TV or internet (unless I steal from the neighbor's wireless. :reddevil: ).

I'm bringing Henry over tonight, so I hope he likes his new home. :)

HOpe everyone had a great New Years Eve. I stayed home and unpacked..lol. I could've gone to a party but was too tired and anxious to get things settled. Hmm..nesting instints maybe? :D

Nesting instincts indeed! I saw it with all my friends :)

Congrats on moving into the new place! I bet by the time your done with it, it'll look like a masterpiece!

Props to you sister for taking that extra multivitamin for the calcium and iron during pregnancy.

Happy New Year!

-Sam

I don't know that I ever nested with my dd but did like mad with my ds. For whatever reason I just HAD TO clean out every drawer in the kitchen and reorganize stuff. LOL Like that would make or break how well I would take care of the baby.
Can't wait to come visit and see how the place looks. Bet it's Fab~Tab~U~Lous!
Ciao

HAPPY NEW YEAR SWEETIE! :hug2:

Congrat's on the move-in! - How exciting. :)

lol re: nesting..

Just picture me with OCD AND Nesting..
It was a nightmare..lol.. :biggrinjester:
No wonder Cory was 2 weeks late..He was prolly like:

Man, this crazy woman is my mom?!?!?!
I'm stayin' in here!
:D

LMBO re: stealing from the neighbors!
:p

:grouphug:

Stacy--I'm sure Cory's lucky to have you for a mom. ;) I can just see you nesting..lol..it would look like the Tasmanian Devil from the looney tunes cartoons. :biggrinjester:

Dawn--it's starting to look pretty good. I'm planning on being settled enough so that I can have the parents and Granny over for Sunday dinner tomorrow.

Sam--Well, I wouldn't say it'll be a masterpiece..lol, but I'm doing my best. ;)

Amber--Glad you're back! :)

Tammy--Same to you! I'm not in any big hurry for the baby to arrive b/c I don't even have a bedroom to put baby in atm...lol. Gotta get busy finishing off the basement!

Cerella and Val--Happy New Year to you, too. :)
I'm not sure it was Seseme street that did it..lol. I have read that studies have shown that babies and small children who watch even moderate amounts of tv--even educational like baby einstein videos--can be negatively affected by it.

JZ--Yup, sports viewing should be better from here on out. :D

Steve--Yes! Good weather would be nice, but as you said, unlikely. :( HNY to you, too.

Trevor--So glad to see ya around again. Hope you had a good fall semester, and that 2009 brings you lots of good things. :)

Claudia--I've looked into the Omega-3 and actually have some that H wanted me to buy him a few weeks ago. Guess I'll start taking it. I guess I was annoyed that it sounded like I was a bad mother if I wasn't making sure my baby was doing things at 18 mos that most kids don't do until age 3. I don't need a genius, just a well-adjusted, happy, kind child. :)

Congratulations Star! Looking forward to the pics :D.

If it is at all possible to do 4 hours of exercise a week in your condition (I sure wasn't capable of it at 6 months!) then please do join the New Years goal challenge. Its more about sticking to calorie/eating goals and exercising for 6 straight weeks rather than focusing on weight loss (although that gets you bonus points at the end). If you aren't up for it, obviously we understand.. boo hoo

I didn't mean to imply anything like that at all Kimberley! I'm definitely not one of those people who want my baby to be pressured into overachieving. Ya know those kooky types you see on TV that have tutors, carting their kids off to piano and violin lessons, gymnastics, ice skating LOL. I never made sure my baby learned the alphabet and maybe its no big deal, but I was impressed with her skillz especially since we did nothing to help her learn anything. That's why I thought maybe the DHA helped. (make sure its not derived from any mercury containing fish..)

You are going to find your first 6 months of motherhood VERY interesting. EVERYONE and their mother will have an opinion on how you're taking care of the baby (including perfect strangers). You've got him/her dressed up too warm or not warm enough. Or you should try feeding them this or that. It is CONSTANT input and it does make you feel like you dont know what you're doing sometimes. Luckily you wont be around the in-laws much. They can be especially busybodylike.

Stacy--aka Tasmanian Devil...lol. The dinner went pretty well today. Aside from my granny's complaining. I swear...she was bitching about the 3 steps to get inside. Her house has 3 steps to get inside and she never bitches about that. Whateva!! :cuss: There was more bitching, but I'll spare everyone..haha. She did give me two nice bowls that belonged to my great-grandma, so I'll forgive her. :D

Claudia--I looked up your challenge, but the eating thing would screw me over..lol. Once I have the baby I'm going to get hardcore with the weightloss again, so I'm enjoying the weeks I have left to indulge myself (within reason). :biggrinjester: Also, lately getting in 4hrs has been hard due to all the craziness due to moving, etc. I don't know if I'd be able to swing it. Physically I could, but time-wise I'm not so sure. Unless unpacking counts as exercise. :smilielol5:

Well, the condo is certainly looking more like home now. H and I did a major clean up session today to get the place ready for the Sunday dinner. The junk/tools/plastic/moving blanket have been removed from the dining room table. And I made H move all his tools off the kitchen counter...lol. My kitchen looks pretty normal aside from a hammer and cordless drill still setting on it. :D Also, all the bags and boxes that were scattered about the dining/living room area are either shoved in the basement, garage or closet. :D Or they were put where they belong..haha. Our bedroom is looking pretty good, but still not quite done. I'll post pics once the rough edges are smoothed out--like all the trim being up for example. Also, my walls are bare. I have about half the decor I want, but none of it is up on the walls. And, we still have no tv. Gotta get that pronto!! :toetap05:

Congrats on the move in... glad to hear things are coming along. I'm not a television watcher for the most part, but I hated not having it when I first moved in!

Glad to hear that dinner went well and things are coming together at the homestead. How did Henry take to his new digs?
It is so funny when you talk of your place 'cuz I see it all visiually in my head! LOL
And I feel ya on the TV thing. Though I am a bit more like Steve in that I really don't watch it too much. But when you first move to a place for some reason it always makes it feel more like home I think.
Better to be without TV instead of the Net! :biggrinjester:
