BikiniBound's Diary

Good Afternoon Twin, hopefully the sun is shining in your direction today. It's really pretty here, FINALLY! I hope it sticks around, no more weather under 35 degrees, I've had it!! :cuss:

Hopefully your car will be an easy fix, I know I've sunk alot in my sons car this year, OUCH!! hurts the pocket book, and to top it off gas prices don't help any either! I think it's all a conspiracy myself, damn oil people!

So no luck in the house department yet?? you would think there would be a ton of houses available since the market has gone south. I know every day I read how this mortgage company and that mortgage company is going under. And how there are so many foreclosures out there, it's very very sad in my opinion, it hurts to see people lose their homes because of the rates going up and their salary staying the same, I'm PISSED off at the hole thing! just this morning they interviewed this middle aged lady who has a teenage son and they have lived in their home for years and now she can't afford to keep it any more and they are going to walk away from it, since she took a Second out on it during her nasty divorce, now she's upside down. Just makes me want to scream out loud!! my heart hurts for these folks, it truly does.

On a lighter note, I think I'm going to be down on the scale this week, which is finally a positive note for me. LOL LOL I'm really going to pump it up a notch this month and really make my goal weight. Now that the weather seems to be improving, I know my total outlook and attitude will adjust accordingly, bad weather and cloudy days put me in a funk real bad, sunshine is what this girl needs, AHHHHHH

Well sweet cheeks, I hope your day goes well and I hope that scale shows you some positive motivation this week.
Hugs and Love
Kimmers

So, this penguin is driving down the road, and his car starts making the worst noises, and he starts to lose power. He sees a mechanic shop just up ahead, and manages to roll the car right up to the door. The mechanic takes a look at the engine, mutters something about "probably your gasket", and points the seal in the direction of the ice cream parlor next door to wait.

Well, the seal goes in and gets himself a nice big vanilla cone, and really enjoys himself. Sadly, the beak/flipper combo is HORRIBLE to eat ice cream with, and he gets it everywhere, the poor little guy. He sees the mechanic waving him over, so he gobbles down the last of the cone, and wobbles on back over to the mechanic shop.

When he gets there, the mechanic says "Lucky for you, it wasn't a gasket problem... heh... it just looks like you blew a seal."

"Oh," the penguin replies, "No, it's just a little ice cream"

Happy monday darlin. Get your car fixed.

Ha! That was golden :D

Hope you get your car filxed ok !

I thought about you on saturday morning. It actually snowed here. It melted about as fast as it hit the ground though :( But I'm still counting it as having snowed! :D

H talked to the mechanic today, and he thinks it's only a head gasket and that he can fix it. However, the last time that car blew a head gasket, we ended up having to put a new engine in it. We will not be doing that again.

I hope you get your van back soon. We will just have to share a car for a few days at least. :ack2: Thanks for being soo sweet! :hug2:

Brandy--I did get a good night's sleep finally. I was asleep by 12:45am (1:45 w/the daylight savings change), and woke up at 9:45am.

Margaret--Land is fairly cheap here. One of the houses I'm interested in buying is listed for $79,900, and has just over 2 acres. It is an old farmhouse out in the sticks..lol.

Eating low-cal today hasn't been hard at all. I was out working from 11:30 until 6pm, so no way to eat anything. My calories will be under 1400 easily today. :) Still haven't eaten any cabbage, though. I think I'll make that soup tomorrow. And, I have to get some exercise in tonight. Weight was 223.5 today. :ack2: However, I am pretty confident that it will be under 222 tomorrow. :D

At the end of my open house this afternoon (not the house I just listed, the other one), I was just finishing a note to my sellers when they walked in. I ended up staying almost 2 more hrs talking to them. They are a very nice couple, and the husband is a Civil War buff like myself. He's got all kinds of CW goodies, and had to show them to me--I didn't mind. :D Especially as he loaned me a book, and gave me another. Very nice of him.

Hello, just thought I'd drop by to see how you are doing. Sad to hear about your car troubles. But look on the bright side, at least real estate is affordable! Where I live the average home on a regular sized lot (not acreage) is $600,000 CN !!!!! I am lucky when I bought my home we paid $215,000 and we just had it assessed at $413,000. But cost of living here is insane! Good luck this coming week. GO BLUE!
Bye for now:seeya:

Kimmy, this sounds fun! I'm sure you'll have no problem eating more calories. There's nothing like a good excuse to eat ice cream. Today even, I bought these little cups of chocolate chip cookie dough with only 140 cals each. I'm SO EXCITED to eat one. I'll allow myself maybe two of these a week.

I hope you're having a good weekend!!

Mmmm...ice cream....:drool5:

Keepitoff--I had my first cup of cabbage at lunch today. And go figure, my supermarket has it on sale 19 cents a pound this week. :( Now that I've already bought a head of it. lol

Margaret--yeah, you know I will get in the required exercise and cabbage--even if I have to do it all on Thursday, it'll happen. :D

Unless it's in the city or a heavily populated suburb, land is pretty cheap around here. You can usually find 5 acres of vacant land for around $40k-50.

James--I have to admit, that I had to read that 3 times before I got it. I swear I'm not blonde--I'm just sweet and innocent!! lmao That's a perverted penguin after my own heart. :D

Paul--you're so cute getting excited about snow. I've got tons of it here still that I would be more than happy to lend to you--and you wouldn't have to return it, either. :D

Eldaweesda--Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, real estate is affordable, but as I'm a realtor, I'd love it to be a hot market with the average sales price of $600K...lol. More money for me--lots more money for me. :biggrinjester::biggrinjester:

Finally got off my arse and onto my bike for 45min today--and had 1 cup of cabbage. 4 more to go.

Had a good but busy day--tomorrow will be also. Still no word on the car. The mechanic will look at it tomorrow. H thinks we should both get new cars. We'll see. I know one thing--if we do, they will both have to get better gas mileage than our current ones. I cannot believe gas is $3.30 a gallon. :svengo: I don't know how Europeans and Aussies/Kiwis can stand to pay $1.50 per litre (that's about $6 a gallon) Luckily, you have better public transportation than we do--and everything is so far away. The nearest store is 4 miles from my house, and I have to drive all over b/c of my job. :ack2: :nopity:

You both get new cars, huh? Embedded car seats must be a must deary. Oh, and sufficently HUGE back seats, you know...so you can make that little bundle of joy that will sit in that carseat in a fun way. LOL.

I say, if you can reasonably afford it, then go for it. I mean, cars last what? About 20 years if you're lucky? 200,000 miles or something like that...

Way to go on the exercise AND cabbage today :), Looks like it was a successful day overall.

I can't imagine buying two new cars.....that'll really take a toll on the bank account!

God no! The cars would not be NEW as in 0 miles on the odometer..lol. I am not rich. I mean new as in different. H is definitely going to need a newer vehicle soon, as his is on its last leg. Mine is good so far, but it's getting to the stage where things are going to start needing replacing--so time to get something that still has a warranty on it. I would love to get a newer model of the one I have now--I really like it. I would rather make a monthly car payment and know that the expense is there, rather than be nickled and dimed to death and have cars in the shop all the time, and never knowing how much I'm gonna have to fork over this time for car repairs, KWIM?

Rae--I am not preggers yet, and at my age, it could take awhile--if ever. So I'm not going to worry about carseats or nurseries until it's time to cross that bridge. :)

We bought petrol on Sunday at Tescos. I have the reciept here. We paid £1.069 per litre for 38 litres - that is £40.62.

1 litres = 0.264172052 US gallons

I have just fed that into a currency converter - that is $2.16 per litre for 38 litres i.e. paying $82.02 for 10.0385 gallons.

We are going to go through loads of petrol this weekend when we go to Newcastle (300 miles away).

We pay it because it is the price - and you cannot always walk!

Hello Twin!! great job kicking butt on that bike yesterday, WOOO HOO!!

I know gas prices and driving me NUTS!! I live about 18 miles to town, so I fill up each week for about 40.00 a pop. Luckily my car is fairly new, so the gas mileage is decent. Our gas is running 3.03 a gallon, or at least that's what it was last night when I filled up my tank. But around the corner from their I saw it listed at the 7-eleven for 3.10, glad I filled up by the gym it was cheaper.

I'm going to have cabbage tomorrow, I'm bringing it to work with me, I'll make it tonight when I get home from the gym, always something to do, UGG!

At least today it's sunny here, they predict upper 70's can you believe it?? Tomorrow it's going to be 78, OH YEAH!! now that's what I'm talking about!! Hope it's warming up in your neck of the woods too.

Well, I better get going I have a lot to do today. GOOD LUCK to you!! when are you bringing the calorie count down again??
Kim

Not MIA for long..lol. I see I missed out on a lovely spammer..hahaha.

Yesterday was our 6th anniversary, so we spent the day in bed...hahaha NOT!!!

B/c H's car is still not driveable, I had to get up at the crack of dawn yesterday to drive him to work. I'd had about 1.5hrs of sleep b/c I couldn't get to sleep as usual. Came home and slept for another hour before I had to get up and go to a meeting. Then, right after the meeting I had to meet the tow truck at the mechanics (H had to have the car towed there) to pay for the tow. I then went home, and was going to have a nap, but ate lunch and got on the computer looking for houses. Tried to take a nap, but by the time I was nearly asleep, I had to get up so I could get to the gym before picking H up from work. Did that, showered, and then I took him to see one of the houses I'm interested in and then had our anniversary dinner at an Indian restaurant. I had my usual--Butter Chicken, and H had Rogan Josh (w/lamb). It was good, but not as good as it usually is. They did have a 2 for 1 beer special that we took advantage of. :D

I was asleep by 9:30pm last night! :svengo: And slept for 12hrs...woohoo! I needed it. Off to make cabbage soup. I'll hit diaries later this afternoon. :hug2:

Kimmy, I got momentarily excited there for about three point five seconds before I realized you were joshing us. Now I feel like I could beat you with a gavel for making me so uberly fanatic momentarily. LOL. You do deserve a day under the sheets with the hubby though, don't you honey?

Yey, you finally got some REM sleep! I bet you were exhausted as all anything after yesterday's chaotic schedule.

Was the Indian resturant any good? I've never dinned Indian and have always wondered of their deliciousness. Does it taste anything like Chinease? I can eat the whole buffet at those places. LOL.

So you are basically paying 4quid or $8 a gallon! :svengo: If the US$ wasn't so weak it would be $6. Still---it's ridiculous. Would it be cheaper to take the train to Newcastle instead? H said it was AUS$1.50 a litre when he was there last summer. I'm sure it's even higher there now.

Twin--stop bragging about your weather! :D It's about 40F here today and sunny. After the weather we've had, this feels very warm. :D The snow/ice is slowly melting. We'll see if this lasts. March can be very tempermental--we could get a blizzard tomorrow..lmao. The saying is that if March comes in like a lamb, it goes out like a lion and if in like a lion, out like a lamb. This year it came in like neither, so we'll see how it goes. :D

I started my cabbage soup, but didn't have time to finish it--it's all in the pot, just needs to simmer longer. I brought about a cup of cabbage worth of it to work with me, and I guess I'll have to eat the rest tomorrow. Holy cabbage!!

Thanks for the boobie soaping. You know it's always appreciated. :hurray:

KIO--It's not that much when you're financing them..lol. Trust me--we won't be plopping down cash for either of them--well, maybe H's, as it'll probably only cost a few thousand dollars. As you're soon to be raking in big $$ as a doctor, I'm sure you'll be paying cash for a new Mercedes anyday now...;)

Hey koodos on eating the cabbage it is one of the hardest things for me
cuz I hate the texture taste everything but it is editable for now lol!
LOL so any preggers in the near future? What sucks is all the weight you lose
then get preggers and it doubles back on ya well thats my case anyway haha depends on pregnantcy. So gl with the car thing still waiting on mine to get out of the shop still been in there since that semi wreck something about waiting on peices to come in grrrr.Well have a nice day and GL with weigh in day I am sure a big drop is coming!Tammy

Normally that restaurant is fantastic, and I make orgasmic noises with every bite..lol But last night it was good--just not as good as normal--no orgasmic noises. haha Indian food is pretty different from Chinese--not as oily. And the spices are VERY different. Indian also has a tendancy to be quite HOT as in tears running down your face hot if you're not accustomed to it. I like Indian much better than Chinese, personally. My butter chicken dish is pretty mild, though--I just love the flavors--cilantro being one of them. As I've said before--it's an orgasm for the tastebuds. :D
