Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

Thanks for the reality check Trops :D. It's just somewhat ironic that I work out harder than I ever have and lose less weight. I do know what you're saying though and you're absolutely right. If only you knew the trouble I was dealing with on the scale every week. I ran into a bunch of bad weekends, self inflicted of course, and the fluctuations have been killing me. It seems every friday im in the 260's and every monday I'm well back into the 270's... usually around 276. Here's to making this a good weekend! :cheers2:

Ha ha! Yeah, I do know the troubles. I feel like I'm so close to my goal that I can taste it, then I end up tasting everything else. :piggy: Last Friday I was at 197 and then Monday I was at 208.6. :ack2: Now I'm back down to 202, but that's still 5 pounds up from last week. Wrong way, Trops.

Haha, good point JZ. I need to just shut myself in all weekend and stay away from everything. Or maybe just make it a healthy weekend. My parents recently bought a big kayak. I might go get that thing and take it to the lake this weekend. It's a really good core, shoulder, and arm workout.

The cheers was a big glass o' ice water! :D Lets keep this weekend healthy so next week we don't have to lose the same pounds all over again.

Great workouts the last couple days. I feel like I'm really focused right now. The scale was down another .8 this morning but I know I need to stay off that thing. Trying to keep up the healthy weekend all the way through.
 
Weekends are my toughest challenge. I think they are for everyone. Even when I'm bulking... I'll not want to get all my calories in during the weekends. Invariably when I'm cutting I'll want to cheat on the weekends in terms of calorie intake.

I've, at times, structured diets to accommodate this trend... as in, I made sure I'd eat less calories each week day to compensate for the expected increase in caloric intake during the weekend.

Worked out well.

Yup, the weekends get the best of me lots of times. The last couple of weekends have been pretty bad, so I decided to keep this weekend clean. I've done really well so far, still let myself have something I normally wouldn't but keep it within my guidelines. I think I'll actually come out of this weekend with a loss, as opposed to the last few where I kept gaining back weight I had previously lost.
 
Great job and attitude Mac. I agree about the weekends. I am a big (figuratively and literally :biggrinjester:) football fan (college and pro). So I love to tailgate when I go to games and grill/cook a lot of good food when watching at home. So, it is tough eating tuna salad during a game like I did today, when I would have loved some wings. Just gotta keep that right frame of mind.

I hear ya Bert. I'm a big football, basketball, hockey, and whatever else is on fan, haha. It can be tough to keep away from bad food when you're watching a game. I guess it's just what we are used to from our old habits huh?
 
Are you lockin' yourself in like you said you may have to in order to show some good results over the weekend??? I think not... you probably have this lifestyle down pat, and how to make it work for you! I am going out tonight, and that makes me a little concerned with regards to all the calories (ALCOHOL)!!!! I just have to have the right mind set right??? Tell me any trade secrets if you've come up with any... PLEASE!

Nope! I did great over the weekend. Ended up with .8 loss. I did have some wings on Sunday but I budgeted them into my calories. The only problem right now is that I got some kinda cold/sore throat thing going on. Has been keeping me outta the gym but my food is still under control.

When I first read that, my mind placed the "/" between sore and throat instead of cold and sore... First thought was "What the hell has he been doing??!! :D Good job on the .8. You might think I'm being sarcastic, but I know what I'm in store for with regards to losing weight when closer to my goal, plus, .8 x 52 weeks is just under 42 pound in a year. I'd be happy for 40 pounds per year... what's the hurry anyway? Hope ya clear up... or I mean get better soon. :D

I have a sore throat too!! It is totally going around...bummer, I hate being sick. Good job on the weekend eating. I managed to eat semi well in Vegas but then ate bad when I got home...go figure! LOL Oh well, I'm still under 150 and am back on track today so I'm not going to beat myself up.

I bet the gym has all kinds of germs...make sure you wash your hands really well afterwards and don't touch your face during your workouts! Cooties everywhere.
 
My gym has the antiseptic spray and paper towels everywhere. You wipe down when you are done with something and you are cleaning your hands, too. :D
 
Heh, JZ and Val... I don't have cold sores! It's just a sore throat that's been going around.

Humps, how was Vegas? I haven't even heard any stories. Guess ya had to be there! :p No big deal stepping out on your diet for the weekend. Everyone deserves those every now and then, I was just letting it get to me every weekend for a while. I'm sure you'll be running all kinds of weight off. Good thing to keep in mind with the hands at the gym.

Trops, my gym has that stuff too. Not really sure how effective it is but I use it all the time.

The plus about being sick now when I'm healthier... I feel I get over it so much faster. It also seems like it doesn't get as bad. I feel like when you treat your body well and feed it right, it operates more efficiently in return. That's just my thought for the day.
