Bellaryna's Journey

Hi Dawn

We won!!!

What a team!

Anyhow I hope that work goes well this weekend and the MIL's visit continues to be enjoyable. Try to keep one eye on the calories and fit in as much exercise as you can. We all go up at such times - but hopefully not too much as we know the work that we have to do to put things right.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thanks Margaret for being such a super duper teammate!!!! M~Wah!!!
It sure was alot of fun being team buddies and getting to know you better.
Now lets just hope that without the motivation of a challenge I can keep up my journey.

Thanks everyone (Yarmiah, Ladybug, Kimberly and Margaret) for stopping by this weekend to wish me a good turnout at work. And for the friendly reminders to post, post, post my updates. LOL

Well the Omega-3's won the Amazing Race Challenge. We never came in 1st thru-out the whole thing, but stuck to the slow and steady pace of a tortoise.
And it would seem that it paid off in the end.
I will forever be grateful to both of my teamies. Kimberly for putting the challenge together and Margaret for always providing me with the inspiration to push myself that extra step. Pun intended! LOL
Thanks to the both of you I actually got out there and started walking the town.
A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU BOTH!!!!

Work is going well this weekend, though the high school style drama did rear it's ugly head again! Blah
I have taken to ignoring most of everyone at work and just completely focusing on my job and trying to get it done so that I can come home. The mentality that I had of assuming that I could actually have friends at work is no more. It is a sad fact that most everyone there is only out to "make themselves look good". There is no TEAM effort on anything. It is a " I am going to do for me what will further me ahead, and to heck with you and where that leaves you." Unfortunately and fortunately I am not of that mindset. Fortunately in that I am actually thoughtful to other people at work and try to do my job the way I would want someone to do it for me. Unfortunately because it allows me to be wide open to being hurt when I get caught in the middle of the "crap".
MIL being here in my house has still been a wonderful experiance all this week. She has been helping with the odds and ends of picking up and cleaning. She has been a tremendous stress reliever in that realm of my world.
This morning as I was standing in front of my closet bemoaning the fact that I have nothing to wear as everything is now too BIG, YEHAW!!!, she comes in and hands me a sweater saying that she is not sure if it will fit or not as it is a Large but I am more than welcome to try it on.
Sure enough it fit beautifully. I am no longer in the Extra's on my clothes. That was the 2nd time this week that I had put on a large sized anything and had it fit. And fit well!
She ended up giving me the sweater. She really is the sweetest.
I plan to get back to walking the town this week. Hopefully now that the challenge is over I won't allow myself to fall out of that particular exercise habit. I can't imagine that I will since the weather is so very nice now that the last thing I want to do is to stay indoors all day doing nothing. Or cleaning my house for that matter!!! LOL
I really have been slacking in the water drinking department and need to pick that habit back up as well this week. I am thinking that I will weigh myself every Wednesday. Well at least that will be the day that I shoot for to see a loss. As I always weigh myself everyday anyhow. For some reason that seems to be a good day for me. I think it is that by Wednesday my body's natural clock has caught up with itself from the weekend.
Well I need to go and get ready for work. Thankfully it is the last day so nothing that happens today will matter a hill of beans.

We should all be so lucky to have an MIL like yours!! :) I'm sure Margaret is really jealous--as hers bites the big one. What a sweetie yours is, helping you out around the house and giving you sweaters...

Kinda helps make up for work, eh? Sorry that was unpleasant again. I hope today went better for ya. :)

I'm so pleased we won the challenge. I honestly thought we were out of it with you forgetting to update, but 3 other people forgot too, so we did just fine in the end. :D

Have a great week!!!

Hi Dawn

I'm sorry that the people that you work with continue to make life unpleasant for you. I suppose that the most positive way of looking at it is that at least it means that you will not be sorry to leave them when you leave that job in order to pursue your dreams elsewhere. You have mentioned before that you would like to find a more appealing position - I think that you mentioned nursing.

Your MIL certainly sounds like the answer to a maiden's prayer. If only we could all have one like that. She is so nice to you! She was so sweet giving you a sweater. It was absolutely wonderful that it fit.
It is extra nice to wear clothes with no extra in the size.

Take care
Love
Margaret

exhaust[1,verb]
b: to tire extremely or completely <exhausted by overwork>

That my dear friends is the definition of my life for the past 2 weeks.
I can't be on for very long so will make this very short.
I worked 40 hours this weekend in less then 3 days. So needless to say most everything that didn't have to do with sleeping went right out the window this weekend.
I am not even sure what I weigh at the moment.
Tomorrow is the 1st day in a long time that I don't have anything planned for anyone else. So I am taking the day for myself.
I will chat at everyone tomorrow and run thru your diaries then.
Catch ya all later.

Aww...I'm sorry to hear you're so exhausted--but not surprised. Did your H/kids do anything special for mother's day? I hope so. You work so hard, you deserve something nice to let you know they appreciate all that you do for them. :)

Happy Belated Mother's Day!! :hug2:

Thanks for the M-day wishes.
They did do nice things for me.
MIL made dinner and brought it over so that I wouldn't have to cook. She also bought me these really cute strappy sandals. Since losing wieght I have become much more interested in shoes! LOL Must be because my feet are smaller now.
Of course my kids gave me some very cute homemade gifts that I will cherish forever.
Dh bought me a wonderful metal trellis and a KitchenAid mixer that I have been coveting for about 10 years. You know one of those mixers that cost big $$$.
And my mom got me a beautiful Clematis plant to climb that trellis!
Oh and I also got for myself a new Vera Bradley purse. It's black with pink elephants all over it.
So all in all it was a great day. Except for of course I had to go to work. But overall it was good.

Well I finally was able to get a full nights sleep last night for the first time in about 2 weeks. It felt so good to wake up this morning and NOT feel exhausted.
Unfortunately I have not been able to keep up with everything like I wanted to. Between the weather (raining) and trying to help MIL get settled into her new place, I haven't had much time for myself. I have tried to be good about the food but as I have said before I tend to eat more junk when I am tired.
Though I don't think I did too badly most days I still had days where I definately fell off the wagon.
I weighed myself this morning and it was not pretty. 191.4 YIKES! That is 5 pounds up from my lowest weight. I am pretty sure that most of that is water weight but also that a part of it is for real gain.
I am planning on going to my Fit for Life class tonight. I skipped out last Thursday. Poor SweetiePea. She went and I ditched her. I just couldn't bring myself to go. I just felt so overwhelmed all week. Like I was being pulled into a million directions at once. And it turned out that going to the YMCA, getting away from the family as it were, was a good thing for me. I just sat and visited with the guy in charge of the Fitness Center.
Turns out that it was a good thing too as he has an opening coming available up in the fitness center for a worker. As I am looking to get out of the pool for a while it would be perfect for me. Wednesday's and Friday's from 4:30am-8:30am. Perfect timing for the family as they will all still be sleeping. So I will actually be able to spend more time with them than I am currently. And it doesn't start until just after school gets out.
Well that is pretty much what is going on around here.
I will try to get to everyone's diaries today, but I still need to plant flowers, as well as fold laundry, make dinner, take MIL to the nursery to buy flowers and help her to plant what she buys at the nursery.
So as you can see even though it is suppose to be my day it quickly turned into something else. Oh well. at least I am not exhausted anymore and the sun is shining. It could be lots worse! LOL
Hope eveyone is having a great day.

Hey bratt!! :D

Since you stood me up, guess you owe me big time!! Maybe a trip to St. Louis?? :biggrinjester:

Anyway, I was reading this article at SP and thought you might be interested since some of the exercises we do!

TTFN!

I deserve that! :banghead:
I am soooooo sorry that you got stood up. I really did lose track of the time whilst planting MIL flowers. I most definately will be there tomorrow. I Promise!
St Louis it is! Besides I can't possibly go all summer without seeing my best buddy.
I am always up for a good road trip :driving:

Hey dear, it was fun talking to ya tonight! I think I'm just gonna take 131 south--it's the most direct, and it isn't that far to go once the x-way ends.

Glad you got some good M-day loot!! :D

So MIL has moved here permanently than? I thought she was just here for a visit. That's cool, as I know you get along with her well. Sounds like she will turn out to be a help to you as well.

Glad to hear you got a good night's sleep the other night. Heaven knows you needed it. :)

It was alot of fun chatting with you too.
I agree that taking 131 all the way down would be the best. Only after looking at the map did I see how close it really is.
Yeah MIL is here for good. Or at least until the weather turns cold again!!! LOL :smilielol5:
I already told her that whenever she wants to visit Puerto Rico, she still has her apartment down there, I would willingly go with her!
Catch ya later!

I'm sure you would willingly go..lol. I saw some travel commercials for PR a few days ago. It looks beautiful. I'll have to drag H there some day. :D

Well I think that I need to come to the terms that I have actually gained some weight since MIL has gotten here.
I actually saw a good number last week on my scale (the one on my ticker) but have not seen it since. In fact I have actually been hovering at 190-191 all week.
I do know that my legs are a bit swollen from not drinking my water like I should.
And think that I have the water thing figured out. MIL (and most Puerto Ricans for that matter) love love love their coffee. For the most part I am not much of a big coffee drinker but everytime we would either visit her or she would visit us my coffee consumption would go way up. And this time is no exception. Just that she is not leaving and now I am drinking coffee all the time.
Besides the coffee having the obvious caffiene in it they also like to "doctor" it up. Usually with whole milk, sweeteners, and a dash of cocoa on top. It is soooo tasty that I can barely resist. And now that I am on a coffee kick my water kick has gone out the window.
So I need to cut back on the coffee and up the water.
Easier said then done I think. :biggrinjester: hahaha
I am going to give myself until next Wednesday to see if I can get my weight to dip back down at least close to my ticker. If it does not by then, then I will be changing it in an upward motion. I don't want to do that so feel motivated to get things going.
The sun is shining here after a day of raining. The temps are still a bit chilly but I will take sunshine anyday that I can get it.
Hope you all have a great day.

Hi Dawn

I'm pleased that you have been having some sunshine.

It sounds like you have been getting really exhausted - try to find a bit of time for you because total exhaustion has a way of making us ill to make us take a rest.

It sounds good that there is an option for some different work at the YMCA that would give you more time with the family. I hope that it all works out for you.

I'm sorry that the surplus pounds are hanging on. I think that many of us are looking forward to the happy day when we will once again see our low weight on the scale (never mind head for a new low). It does sound like coffee is a culprit for you. I hope that you manage to tame that demon that makes you drink it - ignoring the water that saintly Dawn knows is best. It sounds so like my own struggle - Margaret vs the honey shreddies. I just weighed and put some more on a plate and then poured them back into the box - determined that I had eaten enough of them already today.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hi Dawn. :hug2:

You'll dip back down..You're a strong - beautiful lady, and you can do anything. ;)

Happy TGIF and have a Great Weekend! :)

I told your MIL the same thing about her place in PR! :D

Last night was a blast (well after all the exercise that is.) I'm sure I burned just as many cals sitting at Duke's as I did all night with Kelly. :p You really had me cracking up!

Oh and can't wait 'til tomorrow night. It will be so much fun, just the 4 of us! I can only imagine. And I'm sure somehow the guys will try to wiggle in the gun n' knife show...LOL
