BEFORE, INBETWEEN, AND AFTER 170lbs to 122lbs

Hi Katie, (I recently added you to my friends list on myspace) I hope you don't think I'm a stalker or anything :) but I see a lot of myself in you in terms of the before pictures. I'm 5'4 and 160 and I would like to be down to 130 by summer, but don't know if that's possible. After two kids, I'm just in a major rut. I live 2 minutes from my local gym...I have a membership, but can't seem to get there. I have used every excuse in the book...

Now that I've seen your transformation I have a whole new level of motivation. I am making a commitment right here right now....I am going to the gym starting Monday! I will go 5 to 6 days a week...no more excuses!

I will have my hubby take a picture (yikes!) so I can use it as my "Before" pic and will post my results soon!

Thanks for posting your pictures/story...you are a real "Fitness Idol" like a previous member said!

Thank you!! I think the major thing is try to stay away from junk food..EXERCISE..and just try to make healthy eating choices..right there will make you lose weight for sure. I cut out all my junk food (i ate it WAY TOO MUCH) and now for snacks i just have fruits, veggies, or something healthy..(i like pickles!! haha)..and for exercise..if your not a runner..just do incline walk on the treadmill for a 30mins to an hour..(put it on the highest incline it can go and put it at a speed that is comfortable for you..i usually put it on 3mph)...its acually a really good workout..also DONT HOLD ON TO THE SIDE THINGS WHEN YOU WALK...not holding on helps you PUSH yourself more!! ..Hopefully this will help your g/f!!

Hi!

Your pictures are very impressive. I especially like that you included a couple of your fiance, since he was part of your efforts to change. (I showed them to my fiance.) I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind:

1. What helped you not feel deprived or down when you quit eating junk food? I am good at working out consistantly, but I have trouble denying myself yummy food or controlling portions without it negatively affecting my mood.

2. What kept/keeps you going? I lost a little over 30lbs and was 25lbs away from my goal weight, but it seems all the compliments and loose clothing made me relax into (almost) my old habits. I've gained 10 back. I'm sure you looked awesome at 130 or 135, so what made you press on?

Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring so many of us!

1. What would help me is i would think.."if i eat this it will set me back" so i wouldnt eat it!..I did that alot..and it helped me a lot!..its ok to have something bad everyonce in awhile but not ALL THE TIME!

2. What kept me going is that i wanted a flat stomach..and when i was in my 130's i didnt..i still had a pudge under my belly button. So that was my goal..i wanted to be able to wear cute low rised jeans and not have my stomach sticking out! lol....Id say just keep going till you do feel comfortable with yourself...my goal was 115 but im around 122-123 now..and i like where im at.

Keep it up and dont fall back into old habits!! GOOD LUCK!!! :hurray:

Awesome job - great pics!!!

How long did it take you to get to your goal weight???

Thank you!! It took me 8 months...i wanted to get to 115 but i felt the weight im at now is really good for me so i stayed in the low 120's
