Bad Feet Has Ruined My Life - Need to get healthy again.

kinda sorta ate a lot today:

lunch = 1 fried cod and shared chips ~500 cals

late afternoon = first time at Five Guys & Fries
1 'little' cheeseburger ~550 cals (as per website)
shared large fries with 4 people ~ 400 cals (as per website 1 large fries = 1500 CALS!!!!! WOW!!!!)
also had some free peanuts ~ 50 cals
had some orange fanta which at first i thought was calorie-free but not ~ 150 cals

late night meal when we got back to vancouver = vermicelli bowl with chicken/spring roll ~ 600 cals

Total ~ 2250 cals + lots of walking for shopping.

Not very good, mostly that five guys and fries meal. I never imagined that large fries was 1500 cals. Mcdonalds is only 560 cals for large size. That is an astounding difference.

I will be paintballing tomorrow so that will be some good exercise and hopefully I can work some of this off!
 
Ken - all your friends do is eat!! You got to break the cycle! Otherwise, its just damage limitation! Why not eat before you go out and then have a drink and chat whilst they munch? I know its not the most social thing when everyone else is ordering and chomping but there must be a way to find a compromise where you don't feel too left out but are able to keep a bit healthy. As for buying a box of buns for your mates and smelling it all night long...I have NO SYMPATHY!!! hahaha you shouldn't have bought them!
 
@sweat daily - definitely! the diary really helps but been on a rough patch!

@jjjay - We were away for the whole day in the US! we were trying new foods..just happened to be greasy fish and chips...we were trying to get in a brunch place after crossing the border (which takes 1 hour...about 2 hours from our home), but it was too long a wait. I normally wouldn't be eating that bad..but it was a day of all eating out just b/c..day trip! Um um...the bakery buns are free from my bakery! I didn't buy it! I WONT DO IT AGAIN tho! Yeah It is tough to break the habit..my friends do eat regularly..so do a lot of vancouverites...too much good food here! I am going paintballing today..hopefully burn something off!
 
Paint balling is so much fun! But I have to warn you.... it really blood hurts when you get shot close haha. I got this beautiful bruise on my arm, it looked like a mod target, with a red lump in the middle, surrounded by undamaged skin, then a perfect circle of a blue bruise in a halo around it.

Hey Guys!

So i got up today and weighed in at 191.2 (+2.0).

Again...it's from the late night eating - had pho at 9..well vermicelli bowl and woke up with a bloated stomache. But I didn't have a good day yesterday..it was mostly junk food and such since i was on the road since dawn.

Here's my day so far - I actually wanted to write this down to see if I should even eat something small ..like some more berries before i sleep but I'm still full from my large meal today.

my day:

BF - blueberries + blackberries + banana ~ 250 cals

PAINTBALLIN'! - man - what a workout! It is tiring crouching and getting up and lying down and running around lugging this paintball gun around filled with paintballs and playing on adrenaline. I played 15 minutes and my legs were like jello afterwards!!! I felt like a newborn giraffe trying to walk back to the entrance!

I was planning to sit one out to get my legs back but quite a few of my group wanted to sit out. About 4-5 girls ended up sitting out. One gal got shot in the head and hand on open skin ..and it was the first time she played! She had a big welt on her forehead..it was bad!! She was crying... I felt a lil bad because I organized this with Groupons ..coupon thing.

So I ended up going for another round and took their paintballs and i was going trigger happy the 2nd game. After that..everyone wanted to leave lol..most of the girls were not enjoying it. So we ended up leaving..but I was sweating up a storm...my shirt was soaked!! I never knew it was such a workout - I've gone once or twice before but didn't remember it. MAybe I'm just out of shape now. :D

So we all went for noodles. I shared a fried noodles and soup noodle dish ..and also got a piece of a beef roll. ~ 1200 cals (wild guess)

And then they wanted to go for gelato so we went to this famous place that I'd never been to but heard had the best gelato..so i had a small cone with 1 scoop of Earl Gray Tea Gelato..it was amazing. ~ 250 cals ( it says 140 cals per scoop on the internet..but that seems low..)

I'm at 1650 cals for the day and I won't be eating anything else.

Not the best but I did get a helluva workout at paintball...I'm sure i burned more calories than my normal 30-45min biking as I sweated like a madman through the front and side of my shirt too. Normally I just sweat through the back.

Jasper : it's 9pm here as of this posting :) I'm on the westcoast - pacific time!

morning weigh in 190.0 (-1.2)

My thighs are sore as heck..that crouching and stuff killed my thighs!! I should do some squats or something when they get un-sore.

Jasper - I never really thought of a final goal weight. It's more of when I feel in shape. I would guess around 160-165. I want to see if I can lose enough fat to knock down some of my moobs -.-. I hate 'em!!!!

Obstacles this week :

Today: A peking duck dinner. Extremely sore thighs - no cardio for me, I will get on the bowflex. I think I burn more calories on cardio tho.
Saturday: Ex-gf's birthday, but we're still (too) good friends.
Sunday: just because it's a weekend day.

At the paint balling place I went too you had to wear face masks at all time otherwise you got booted out with no second chances, even on the breaks if you were sitting out. Imagine if that had gone in her eye instead of her forehead... It could have blinded her so although its bad, it was a lucky escape in a way.

You did well today. I bet the noodles weren't as high in calories as you thought they were. Hope your muscles recover soon.
 
Ruth - She was wearing a mask but it only covers around your face - think Jason the 13th hockey mask. She was on the attacking side of King of The Hill, and someone shot her from above in the top corner of her head area where it was still exposed. It looked bad though! She's okay today though, thank goodness!

Food:

breakfast - almond milk + banana ~ 200 cals

lunch - blackberries + blueberries, a little bit of soup noodles ~ 350

5pm - cheese / potato quesadilla ~ 700 cals. i shouldn't have eaten this. I was craving it on the way home...

8:30PM - chinese cold chicken salad/appetizer ~ 150 cals
1 small piece of honey garlic spare ribs ~ 50 cals
half bowl of fish stomach/chicken soup ~ 100 cals
2 wraps of peking duck skin with hoisin sauce ~ 400 cals
1 lettuce wrap of duck meat w/ hoisin sauce ~ 200 cals
2 spoons of tapioca pudding ~ 100 cals

damn...i tried to eat less and I was not that hungry after the quesadilla, but my friends were all hugnry so they ordered quite a bit, i thought i did okay until i typed this up and can see it added up to 1000 cals for a meal that I didn't even need.

Total ~2250 cals

terrible! and I didn't hop on the bowflex, my thighs were killing me and i took a nap instead before dinner.

Nothing planned for the next 4 days so far..so time to get back on track.

which is pretty good considering my day...also I think I have a little left in my bowels still wanting to come out XD

My thighs are still as sore as heck. Rolling around bed hurts!!

I feel good though. I am going to eat well. Game on!!!!
 
ooh I love paintball (even though I'm a girl!!). I am more of a "climb a tree and be a silent but deadly sniper" than a "charge over the hill and go psycho" kind of paintballer!

I think sore is good. No pain no gain apparently!! haha.

I have never been this sore that it affects my walking. Walking up and down stairs - I look like an idiot. I can't believe how sore I am still and it's been almost 48 hours.


Food :

10AM - Almond Milk + banana (i've run out of cereal) ~200 cals

1PM - blueberries + blackberries + raspberries ~ 200 cals

4PM - egg whites + double smoked cheddar + cucumbers ~450 cals
- 5 cashews ~ 45 calories - didn't know a single cashew was 9 cals...


5PM - NAP TIME!!! :D Just can't exercise with these thighs! Once I start napping, I end up napping all the time... 2 days in a row now!

8PM - half a papaya ~ 60 cals - I think papayas are some of the best tasting low calorie foods ever!! love em! ~ 120 cals for a whole papaya.
- watercress soup ~ 100 cals
- couple steamed vegetables ~ 30 calories


Total ~1100 Cals.

I want to eat something now and I still might since I took a 2 hour nap. But it'll be just some fruit if I do. I want to keep it low though because of my lack of exercise.

Slowly getting back on track...
 
I ate a bit of dark chocolate about 80 calories.

so Total 1180 for the day.

Also crazy to think my unnecessary peking duck dinner cost me 1100 calories..which is what i ate the entire day today.

Duck... 1100 calories????? Jesus!

5pm: 10 crispy minis ~ 100 cals not sure about this
cambell's tuscan meatball and pasta soup! ~ 200 cals haven't had canned soup in a while, tasted quite good. used to live off this stuff
half a mango, half a pear ~ 150 cals

So Far - 1200 cals

Very helpful. I thought I had a lot more room left but I don't!

That dark chocolate I ate late last night made me have a tough time sleeping!!

I kinda feel like munching...crispy minis..popcorn, which i bought...
 
w000h000! 188!! Good going Ken! I bet that feels good. Half a stone since the end of June! Are you seeing the difference in your clothes?

Its only when you step back and look at what cals are in one meal that you get a heck of a shock and can start changing your lifestyle - not to never have it again, but to plan when and why. I love babyback ribs at Frankie and Bennys but I know the whole plate with the potatos and coleslaw is at least 1000 cals...sigh...heheh I pick my moments to enjoy!
