Back on the horse.

Wow, that's pretty good for having 3 "cheat days" a week. Just imagine how much better you'd be doing if you ate healthy on Friday too. Or Sunday.

Baby steps... Last time I did this I went full commital, and tried to avoid the bad stuff all together. That ended up backfiring on me as I couldn't find the balance. When I fell off the wagon I just kept eating, yesterday was a writeoff, I'll just write off today too, I'll start again clean next week...

This time I am trying to eat healthy 75% of the time and let myself slide everyonce in a while, and try to keep an eye on the calorie balance for the week rather than the day!

I just wanted to stop by and see your thread. You're doing really well. It sucks losing weight, and getting it back, but you're sticking to it. This place is really good for keeping on track :).

Are you Canadian? I didn't have a chance to watch the game, but I heard about it, so I was pretty happy about that win xD.

Keep it up!

Hey Loch.

Hopefully this time I am able to make life changes, and not just diet for 6 months and then pack it all back on.

I am Canadian, in Calgary. Game started at 5am local time, I definately don't regret waking up early and taking it in with friends. It was a really good time.

Wow I haven't done a good job of keeping this thing updated this week. Here goes:

Spent the day home with my sick kid. Lots of random snacking on crackers and other crap.

I have had an ok week, nothing special as far as really good days, or really bad days. I am going to try and eat healthy this weekend, get an hour on my trainer in.

See you next week:

It's time for the Monday Morning Weigh in! But first I will report the last three days of eating.

Friday Feb 28:
Consumed: 2594
Budget: 2375
Exercise: None

220 calories over budget

Ate out twice on Friday, once for lunch where I had a grilled turkey burger and Soup, and then out for dinner with my wife where we had indian food (no rice) and then dessert of Frozen Yougurt...

Saturday March 1:
Consumed: 2430
Budget: 2375
Exercise: -1169 calories (40 minutes on my bike trainer and then an hour long hockey game in the evening)

Net 1114 Calories under budget

Sunday March 2:

Consumed: 2123 calories
Budget: 2375 calories

For the week I totaled 1,669 calories under budget. That should have equated to 2.5lbs lost. But fact is I ate out three times this week, and while I did my best to estimate calories I may have been off here and there. I weighed in this morning at 279. So 1 lb lost, a little dissappointing but definately better than gaining a few pounds. I am also now down into the 270's and I only intend to stay here for a couple of weeks :)

Pretty good day overall. Stayed on Track. The cold weather is supposed to break later this week, I'm pretty excited about getting outside again. This has been crazy cold for the past week!

gasman, looks like you're doing a great job lately of consistently staying under you calories budget! I think that your approach to looking at the calories per week vs per day is a good one. I do a little of both so I can have a cheat day here and there.

That's awesome Gasman! One of my fitness clients confided in me that she fell off her horse (figuratively speaking) this past week. But she's ready to get back on. I always tell my clients: If you mess up, know every day is a new day. You get to start fresh tomorrow.

It's great to have your wife by your side as well, even working out with you. Couples yoga - love it! But I encourage you to have a plan in place when the day comes that she "doesn't feel like working out today" or has something else that she has to do. Be prepared to do the work without her so you don't fall behind. I see a lot of people who rely on their fitness pals drop off when their buddy drops off. If you have a plan in place to go it alone if you have to, you will set yourself up for the win!

Funny Story today. I have been weighing myself pretty much every morning to keep track, but I only post my weight on Mondays. Last night I weighed my self and I was still hovering between 280 and 279. Strange I've been there for a couple of weeks and I've been pretty good on an overall weekly calorie consumption.

I stepped off the scale and happened to glance down. The scale was "zero'd" on 4lbs. I don't know how long it has been out. but it is an analog scale with a dial on the back to zero the scale. I must have been nudging the "zero" when I move the scale with my foot. (push it under the sink, then pull it out to weigh). Anyways long story short I am expecting a really "good" weight loss this monday. I thought I had hit a really early plateau, but it turns out my scale was likely out!!!

This morning was weigh in day... And I came in right at 274. I think a good chuck of that was due to my scale being off. but I will take it. 275 was a mini goal of mine. I ordered a digital scale so I can read it a little easier in the am. Probably take a week to get here. Meanwhile I am going to keep driving towards 250 and beyond!

I think we ALL feel that way when the scale doesn't give us what we want, HAHAHA

So for the week I was 905 calories on the good side. I'm not going to Complain. I had a couple of days where I ate in excess but worked off the calories by exercising, and one major meltdown which I was due for.

Monday was weigh in day. I received my new scale in the mail. It's really nice to weigh and not have to interpret the analog scale from 6.5 ft away!! I weighed on both scales to ensure that they were reading roughly the same and they were within 0.5 lbs of each other.

My official weight starting this week was 270.4lbs

I can feel 250 in my sights. I'm feeling good, and excited that the days are getting longer and there will be more drive to get outside and get active!

We'll looks like I am becoming a once per week poster. That's okay as long as I stay with it. I had a bit of a lazy week with food. But still posted a bit of a loss.

Total performance for the week...2555 calories under budget for the week.

My parents are visiting this week, and they are a pretty bad influence. I don't really understand it, My mom is a diabetic and doesn't eat junk food. My dad is maintaining a weight loss of over 100lbs (He went from about 320 down to 210 and stayed there for the better part of 5 years now) so he doesn't eat crap, and they decide to go the bulk barn and buy 2lbs of cadbury mini eggs... I have the willpower of a crack addict, so I'm sure that my calorie budget is a lot closer then it indicates above. I tried to capture as many "chocolate" calories as I could, but those little eggs are over 200 calories for only 10 eggs and I'm sure a "few" slipped past my calorie tracking app!! Sometimes I feel like they are trying to sabatoge me.

Anywho... Weigh in day and even though I felt like I struggled I saw another 2lb loss, so I am sitting here at 266.6lbs!!

I fell off the proverbial wagon this week. I did okay for the first few days, but I did lots of snacking, chocolate, cookies, cupcakes. I went out for lunch twice, both times I had big bowls of Pho (Vietnamese soup). Starting on Friday I ate 4 straight meals at a restaurant. (Vietnamese for lunch, take away pizza for dinner, I took my parents out for breakfast on Saturday and had left over pizza for lunch !!!) On top of that I baked cookies with my kids and between Saturday night at Monday morning I ate 10! at about 100calories a piece.

I paid for it on Monday Morning though. I weighed in, back up to 268.8 lbs. it is a bit of a wake up call.

Yesterday I had a good day, I ate well, I'm hoping I can erase this week, by getting back on track this week.

After a rough week, I stuck to it and killed it this week. Ate clean, Exercised and was rewarded with a big drop!

No over budget days, lots of water, and some moderate exercise = 5.4lbs lost. Now I do believe that last week my weigh in was a little inflated as I fell of the wagon on Fri/Sat/Sun and was probably retaining a ton of water. But a good rebound loss feels good. I am almost in the 250's. Once I get to 250, I am going to re-evaluate my goals and decide if I want to maintain there for a while, or if I want to try and drop down another bit!

Weight today was 263.4lbs
