I agree with this statement. Especially if you're trying to lose weight. I prefer not to drink my calories. Ok so NOW i prefer not to drink my calories. :D
And I agree with the artificial sugar thingy. Its not good for you. Just one thing at a time.

I was hungry, and my friend insisted on Atlanta Bread Company. I strongly advise anyone who eats at this place (of course you gotta be in Metro ATL) to look at the menu before you go. Actually, I advise that for any out to eat place. The reason why I bring it up about this one is that all the food that they serve seems like it would be low calorie, but it isn't. Actually, some of the items you'd think was low calorie were the high ones, and vice versa. Just "food for thought".

I totally agree with both statements,I don't drink my calories not when I could eat them.. If I know I'm eating out I look it up online because things are so decieving these days. What you think is healthy is the worst thing on the menu. We don't have atlanta bread but we have panera bread and you go there and think you're eating healthly but the food is loaded with calories and fat. Its good I have to admit. lol

Haha, good food for thoughts there (checking out the menu beforehand) I learned a lesson today - there is a reason Jack Astor's doesn't post nutrition info online, lol.

I too prefer not to waste calories on drinks and am getting good at enjoying a nice cold glass of water, it helps that the weather is warmer.

I agree with Sophie, wondeful job with the transition with the high calorie drinks.

Remember, tomatoes are your friends, high in lycopene, which reduces cancer! Keep it up, you are doing awesome.
 
Here is a tipp... ok it is not everyone's cup of tea (lol) but green tea is great! I have real green tea (as in the leaves) and then in teabags, and in bags I have like 5 or 6 flavours (apple, pineapple, jazmin) and it takes a bit to get used to, but then it is great!
Especially for those who are not the greatest water drinkers!! You can have green tea hot, in the mornings and in the evenings and icecold if you keep it in the fridge, for example when you are biking long stretches!
You don't put milk or sugar in it, so there is not even the incentive to do so!
And it has been studied and it prevents from lots of diseases, just two mugs a day can prevent cardiovascular diseases (in a healthy diet of course) and even cancer though this has not been demonstrated yet!
Try it! And it is a metablism booster! And bleaches your teeth! And makes your kidney function get better! There is just sooo many reasons to drink green tea!
That was my healthy tipp of the week for you Ashy!!

Thanks for the kudos on transitioning from sugary drinks. They have pretty much become the devil to me. :)
These next couple of weeks I have finals so I'm going to be busy busy! Then I will have a month of R&R before summer semester.

One thing I have really noticed is that I am getting to be a lot more hyper lately. Very odd for me. :) maybe I'm just happy with what I'm doing for myself.

Celery/Carrots for snack: (don't really care, lol)
Lots of water/sugar free drinks (5calories)

Total: 665! Gotta go eat something!!! :D :D

As far as my weight loss I have lost a grand total of 4.8 lbs over the course of 12 days. :) Very content with that.
And I love tomatoes as long as they are fresh... Mmmm Salsa!!!
