AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

How was the first week of school? Hope it went well, and that your students behaved themselves..lol. I missed my fellow late night lady this week. I had to be a lady of the evening all by myself... :rotflmao:

My kids were fairly well behaved, but they need to adjust to me, and me to them. I am still hearing a lot of "That's not how Ms. Bailey did it last year."

Hey Ambalove, just stopping by to say hi :).

How old are the kiddies you're teaching? Do they move around to different teachers or do the same children stay with you all day long? Guess I'm more curious about this stuff now that I have a baby.

Anyway, have a good night :).

I teach special education, grades K-5. The class I have this year is made of kids with moderate mental retardation, IQ's between 45-65, usually. They are with me and an aide all day, they do attend classes like music, p.e., library, computers and art with regular classes, but me or my aide attend with them to assist.

As much as I love my job, and the kids I teach, I hope your baby doesn't need my class.

HI Amber,
Hats down to you for teaching kids.I have enough trouble just with my daughter... My friend is a teacher and she gets crazy busy... I feel for you.
Congrats on your loss!!! Now just keep continue doing what you have been and you will see the numbers drop every week.
have a great night and a great restful weekend.

Today, I had a triumph. My only pair of size 18 jeans were dirty, and I decided to try the 2 pairs of 16's that have not been worn in a year and a half. The first pair zipped and buttoned, but weren't very comfortable. The other pair, I have worn the rest of the day with no problems, they fit fine!! Then, at the store today, I wanted this cute aqua blue shirt, and tried on the 22/24 (size I've been wearing) and the 18/20 and realized that I now need the 18/20 shirt!!

I really did not think I'd be down a size in my pants and my shirt...it makes me so happy. I came out of the bedroom and said "Do you know what these are?" and pointed at my pants. My bewildered husband said "Jeans?" I clued him in that they were my smaller jeans that have been in my drawer for a year and half. It felt nice to actually have tangible proof of getting smaller.

Woohoo Congrats amber in being able to get into jeans that fit comfortably that are a smaller size i can't wait till i can comfortably get into my smaller size clothes. i haven't been anything smaller then a size 26 since my son was born and its really depressing as far as pants but my shirts went from being a 22/24 to a size 18/20 and those are starting to get loose on me so i know i am getting smaller some how but not sure where at exactly. since i lost my very first measurements that i took on 7/19/07 which was 3 days after i started on this journey.. anyways keep up the good work and hope you have a relaxing weekend before you go back to work on monday. oh yeah congrats.

Good job on the lower size clothing, that's sure proof of all your efforts!

Well I do admire you for the job you do, that must be quite difficult.

Hey Amber!

Congrats on fitting into smaller jeans!!!! Fitting into smaller cloths feels awesome... tangible proof is always the best feeling:)

Congrats on breaking the plateau and fitting into the smaller sizes. It's a great feeling!! Looks like even though you might not have lost a lot of lbs lately, you were still losing inches. Great Job!

Congrats Amber!! I knew how happy you must feel!! I know I did when I finally fit into a size smaller...it was like a whole new world for me the whole day LOL
These little triumphs are the ones that push us closer to our goals... and keep us motivated.

Hey Amber,

sorry it's been a while. You know how that damn thing called life can get a bit hectic and whatnot. First off, Kudos to you for being patient and teaching SPED. My mum's doing the same thing and I used to volunteer my time and baking skills when I used to live in Hawaii. (During the holidays, I'd bake Halloween/ Xmas cupcakes and bake other goods for their Fundraiser's for the Special Olympics.) She works with the same age bracket as well, so I'm sure you must be really busy. Oh, and as for you shrinking down a few dress sizes... woooooot! It's "running man time!" hahaaa Congrats, girl... keep it up! :hug2:

I am definately busy. I am trying to be as busy as I am and still be a good wife...so between the two, it leaves little time for any other activities. But, my husband works friday and saturday nights, so that is mostly when I will be around. I may get here a couple other times a week, but that will probably be it.

School is going well so far, and I am good, other than the gremlins that are here AGAIN for the 4th time since the 4th of July. I think I need a gyno appt. to figure out why I am bleeding so danged much. Plus, the gremlins make me crave ice cream, which I gave in to twice this week...so my weight will probably be up on friday morning. Ice cream tends to make my weight rise more than anything else (except maybe mexican food...which I adore).

You definitely need to get to the gyno! You wanna make sure everything's ok. We'll miss you during the week, but the weekends will be fun...lol

Mmmm..ice cream and mexican food! I can't blame you for giving in. The gremlins are with me this week, too. So I hear ya--although it's not as frequent as yours--thank god!

I'm starting to love this IUD I have more everytime I hear these gremlin stories. I dont get anything anymore (it has some progesterone so prevents any lining build up I think). Its quite nice not feeling like shit once a month, but I only remember when I read all the *red* horror stories in the diaries.

Well, despite the ice cream, I am down 2.2 pounds on today's official weigh in!!! So happy. I am leaving August behind 7.4 pounds lighter than when it began. I am now 17 pounds lighter than I was on May 19th. It has been enough time that I should be much smaller than this, I know, but I am just thrilled that I am at least this much smaller.

I am hoping to totally rock September's weight loss!

And now, I am off with a friend and her two sweet kiddoes to hike the nature center trails.

Oh, and the site is being stupid and won't let me see your journals, but I will try again when I get home tonight and if it works, I will read up and post back to all you lovely people!!

Oh, and I changed my ticker in honor of the football season officially starting this week, whihc excites me to no end.

Amba congrats on your 2.2 lbs loss!! I am sure being busy with the kids helping you in this... LOL.
I know my daughter tires me out just watching her running around!!
Keep up the good work!!
