A new me! (hopefully, with some help)

ARiver island day 5

Breakfast: 2 small slices of wholemeal toast with light spread and jam
2nd breakfast: Same as above
Lunch: Banana wholemeal sandwich with no spread & grapes
Dinner: Breaded chicken with salad, cous cous and light salad cream
Snacks: 2 cereal bars, granola bar and a banana
Total calories = 1377

Exercise:
42 mins run
18 mins walk
2 hours gardening

My run this morning was soooooooo hard. I kept thinking 'how the hell am i gonna get my fitness up enough to do the great south run' but thankfully Jane was with me to give my confidence a boost. Yes, it was hard but i have 8 weeks and i just have to work hard. She is convinced that i'll be fine. I love my sunday morning run and therapy :)

Then went up to the allotment and spend 2 hours picking peas and raspberries and doing the really exciting job of ........weeding!

It's sunday evening and i have had a really good food weekend :) Ok, my cals are up today but i did burn shed loads so thats ok :)

Ruthie Yay hopefully she is back :) Still arguing with myself about not eating things but i'm still winning right now :)
I am so excited about fitting into these jeans, i think about them when i am tempted to eat something i shouldn't.

Cate You ARE my rock, always there for me sweetie :) and i am sorry for always being so hard on myself, i really do wish i had more self worth. I am way better than i was but i know i still have quite a way to go.
Control is so the answer isn't it?

LucyHello my lovely. Don't apoligise for not writing. I still haven't managed to catch up on yours yet either. I can't wait til life calms down somewhat. Did you notice my calorie intake today :) I will be a good girl and eat nearer 1200 than 1000 i just wanted to give myself a kick start. Anyway, i don't count my coffee so that would probably take it over 1200 :)
I really hope that my muscles remember soon cos today was hard. :)

Sarah Cheers sweetie :) I do feel more in control. I still have moments of weak thinking but have managed to stop myself from doing anything about it! I can't wait to get into those jeans.....You guys will be the first to see the photos :)

Talking about photo's, I tried to upload one of Mark and Jack at the carnival for you but it wont do it, has something changed?

I tried and it wont do it....any ideas?

Lunch: Roast chicken, dry roast potatos, peas, carrots, cauliflower, stuffing and gravy
Dinner: it was a big late lunch so no dinner
Snacks: 3 cereal bars, 3 biscuits and a skinny cow ice lolly
Total calories = 1125

Exercise:
3 hours of housework

Had a really busy day today (at home cos it's a bank holiday and it's pissed it down all day outside). Sorting thru lots of stuff, tidying, making a roast, making chutney and shelling a bucket of peas. I have enjoyed today though.

I'm quitely impressed with how my weekend went foodwise. I am still struggling with arguing with myself to not pig out on stuff i shouldn't but i'm winning on the whole for the moment.

I have finally managed to catch up with some diaries. I'll do more tomorrow. I'm gonna curl up and get my 'Fringe' fix now.

Here's looking forward to a good week next week and hopefully a loss when i weigh on wednesday.......Wednesday is my new weigh day.
 
ilove it when i get hooked on a tv show.I used to have that with nip tuck and desperate housewives!!!

LAST NIGHTS FOOD FAIL =========== Massive peice of fruit cake!!!!......Why did i do thay?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Breakfast: 2 weetabix
Lunch: Ham, lettuce and light amyo wheatgerm samdwich, yoghurt and blueberries
Dinner: Chicken salad with light salad cream and courgette relish
Snacks: 2 kiwi's, granola bar, apple and a banana
Total calories = 968

Exercise:
40 min run :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
10 min walk

I did it!!!! I did a 40 min straight run :hurray: :hurray: I haven't run thet long in ages :) It was the first of my training sessions. I have to do 50 mins next. I might do it tomorrow but if not then i'll do it thursday. I am so so pleased that i managed it and i really enjoyed it :) and it wasn't too hard either :)

Busy busy day today at work. I worked with the VT today and oh my word he is rather yummy ;) lol

Jess i am that hooked on this series i am going to try and fit one in before i go to bed lol I was really bad with 'Lost' too.
Nope still not figured out whats going on with posting photo's. it kinda crashes.
 
AHey Kate - sounds like things are going really well (shhhhh don't talk about the fruitcake!).

Wow on the jeans! Can't think of anything more encouraging than a tiny pair of goal jeans!

Glad to hear the running is coming along nicely - once you are up to 40 mins, it really doesn't take much to keep going and going for longer - it's just a mental thing after that. I find that if I can run beyond 40 mins, I can run for 90 mins...do what I do - pick a circular/out and back route that is 40 mins out and then you know you have to run back home.

Keep it up! You are an inspiration!

Because you only ate 968 cals & ran for 40mins! Plus you had a busy, busy day at work!

Dinner: Small bowl of cornflakes (felt rubbish)

Exercise:
Rest day

I had my hair cut yesterday morning. I now have a fringe and it's really dark brown. I really like it and Mark, who normally never says anything, said 'wow, i really like that'!!!!! I then went up to mum & dads cos one of mums frinds had come round (she lives miles away) and her daughter came with her. We were really good friends when we were kids but i hadn't seen her for over 20 years!!!!! I was really nervous about meeting her again cos she was always really pretty, skinny and blonde and i was always fat, ugly and really self concious. I was really chuffed that she was lovely and normal looking, i.e, she was probably a little bit bigger than me and not this stunning super model that i had inagined. Next time i go to see my bro or Bobby we are gonna catch up over coffee or a drink :)

I felt really rubbish and quite sick last night, not sure what it was cos i was fine today.

On to today.......

Breakfast: 2 weetabix

I did it....I did a 50 min run :) It was only sunday that is did my first run for over 4 weeks!!! I really struggled on sunday and was really really worried that i was never going to be able to do my great south run but i managed a 40 minn run on tuesday and tonight i did 50 mins and it was totally fine :) I am so so chuffed and to be honest.....rather relieved :) I will be fine, i need to up my speed cos at the speed i was today it will take me 2 hours and i want to do it in about an hour and 3/4. I have 7 weeks and boy am i going to work hard. Hopefully i will lose weight and tone nicely in the process. I reckon i will be running about 15 miles a week :)

Ok, i'm knackered (and my legs are a bit achey right now :( ) and i'm gonna sneak a quick 'Fringe' episode before i fall asleep.

Good job on the run Kate..a long run after a 4 week break...you have got some guts! Like Cate, I would love to see a photo of the new doo!!

Dinner: Ummmmmmm chinese take away!!!!!! :eek:
Snacks: Granola bar
Total calories EXCLUDING THE CHINESE!!! = 610

Exercise: 30 min run and a 10 min walk :)

I had a chinese take away last night for the first time in over a year and it was yummy!!!! I had over 1000 cals left (if i used the cals i burnt running) so i definitely didn't go over maintenance.

I upped my speed with my run and i was bright red and so sweaty when i was done. It really felt good to be back on it again :) I love how running makes me feel :)

Cate I will try and remember to get a photo of the new hair do for you. :)
No she didn't say anything about how i looked but that's fine, you know what i'm like with compliments lol

I was so impressed with the time i managed to get my 4 mile run done in this morning :) i did it in 40 mins so i am back up to 10 min miles :hurray:

You will never guess what i have just done!!!!!!! I've signed up to do a half marathon (proper 13 mile half marathon) next march!!!!!!! Part of me is scared but i'm also really excited about the challenge. Ash (my gym buddy) is doing it with me and we have put the same predicted time down so we will be running together :)
Who would have thought i sign up for a 10 mile run and then sign up for a longer one even before ive done it!!!! I suppose it make me carry on running knowing that i have another race to do :)

I get completely addicted to series as well, tend to watch them all together. I think my next one to watch is going to be ab fab, from the beginning, then I am going to watch fringe I think :) My favourite series is Torchwood. I love my sci-fi :D

Yay!!!! So awesome you are already running distances again! Told you muscle memory is good- much harder to do it the first time around, that's for sure!!! So exciting you've signed up for a half marathon- now you have to keep training for it! :hurray: What kind of time goal are you aiming for??


Also congrats on the 2lbs lost!! I'm having trouble getting the scales to move right now, doing my head in. I always seem to be retaining fluid on my weigh in days!! ARGH!
