A new beginning...

Aw! Cute poochie-roos (as my daughter calls them)! We have two big ol' dogs. A golden retriever and an English Pointer. We rescued them both, but they're purebreads. They're fun. Does walking them help you get in extra exercise?

Mommyof2, it definitely does help me get in extra exercise! They certainly need walking! They're very energetic and wound up if they don't get "worn out" by the dog park or a hike or two! :) The biggest one will sit or walk around the house whimpernig at us for attention if he's not been out walking etc. He's very needy, but we still love him :)

Thanks Cassie! I really do love my cheering section here. ;) Plus I love returning the favor to others. You guys really are awesome support!!

Fun exercise note of the day:
When its not too noticeable I love to "walk" thorugh out the house or office, tightening my rear muscles with each step, to get in some extra exercises! Also I am trying to practice tightening my abdominal muscles and releasing them frequently through out the day.. every little extra bit has got to help! :)

i hear ya on superbowl sunday! that has got to be one of the hardest days ever!!! glad to hear you are 'back on track' and sounds like you are determined as ever..keep it up!!

Hey there Dana, and good morning! I totally agree with you on just walking around when it doesn't seem to conspicuous... sometimes you just can't sit anymore! though when I do have to sit, I try and flex those butt muscles anyways if no one will notice! Its just good to have some part of you moving :D

Ramblings: Weighed in this morning. I'm not sure why, because my weigh-in date isnt until Thursday. I'm so depressed by it. The scale says I've hopped up 3lbs!!What the heck?! All I can think of is that its the soda I drank Sunday and a wee bit last night. :( I am feeling very aggravated by this. I will say I also weighed myself AFTER my work out, not before when I normally do. So we'll see. Def. no more soda for awhile now. I meet with my trainer at 7 tonight, so maybe she'll have some new changes for me. Ugh.. Not a fun start to my day.. oh well..

What a bummer to gain during the week :( I know you can make up for it thought! Soda is such a trap, even if you only drink a little, and even if its diet, it really stunts all your efforts. Blech!

I hope the rest of your day looks up!

hey dana!

listen, ive peeked at the scale(about a week ago I did this) when it wasnt a weigh day, and noticed I had gained FOUR!, and then the next morning it was all gone! For me it was a ton of salt the night before. What i did was that day I drank my water, and avoided the salt, and waa lah! all gone. It happens :)

Thank you guys for p osting!!

Kate, that comforts me far more than you could possibly know! I was whining to FH this morning about it too and he said basically what you did. We both ate salty crackers and chips on Sunday evening a lot! And I even had a few salty pita chips on my snacks yesterday. So. I imagine that is making a difference. But ugh, its so shocking to see that isn't it?? so.. I truly need to just kick my but in gear. Soda has been my "little crutch".. for something sweet (sounds weird I know) but.. alas , no more.. not even diet! ;) At least.. I need to get my water in. Besides.. I think I'm having some heartburn/reflux issues from it anyhow! :) Who needs that!!

Salt will totally throw off my weight. If I have had a salty meal, my scale can go up 2 or 3 pounds. But after a day or so.....its gone. Even though in my mind I know its just the salt, somehow I still find it a bit disheartening when I see that scale go up a few pounds!

I drink too many sodas too. I only drink diet, but I like the sweet taste. Plus, I don't drink coffee so I have always used soda as my caffine excuse. Since I have been drinking more water I have found I am drinking less soda. I am not sure I could give it up completely though. Let me know how you do giving up the soda. Maybe you can dish out some good advice for us soda junkies.

Keep up the great work! :)

Hey!! Dont fret, I'm sure it is salt. The same thing happens to me & the crazy part is like Fluff said is that I always know in the back of my mind that it is salt and it is always NOT weigh in day when i check and i get discouraged. Just keep on truckin', use that motivation that you have. You've done so well. Keep it up!!

yep... soda is an evil addiction. I was trying to quit diet soda altogether, and then drinking regular soda is hard tos wallow cause all the calories it adds!! So I only did that on my cheat day. So.. no diet soda this week anymore either. :) Wish me luck..and thanks for the uplifting words you guys keep adding. I really do appreciate it. Its been a icky day at work on top of my morning weigh-in and this just really picks me up to finish the day!
