a Hillbilly diary

Why did you stop taking them? And is there other things you can have?

I stopped taking them because when I take them my blood pressure stays about 180/100 with a pulse rate of about 115

Off them my blood pressure is like 150/80 with a pulse rate of about 99.

So while it kept me from being hungry and not wanting sugar it was hell on the heart......

other things to take would be over the counter and though most don't contain ephedra anymore that has been replace with large caffeine doses.

Pumpkin seeds...those sounds good. I'm going to try that! What kind of pills were you taking Hillbillylee?

I just woke up now too and I'm tired! LOL The change is weather is making me so tired. Yesterday wasn't a lose weight kind of day for me either. Oh well! I'm back here anyway...you're back here. All is good!

Hmm, pumpkin seeds curb sugar cravings? *mental note made*

Howdy HB, sorry to hear about the sugar craving...I know how that can be unfortunately. I was really shocked yesterday. I had a sugar craving and bought a chocolate bar from the little guy outside of Wal-Mart trying to raise money for some group (does it really matter when they have chocolate?). Anyway, I bought one and bit into it...and it did nothing for me. I pulled a white peach out of my bag and bit into it and found heaven! I was quite shocked...but very pleased.

Hope you have a good day buddy, don't sweat yesterday's mishap... it's history now. :)

Eeek - the biggest problem I see with taking any kind of pills though, is that it's not something you can do long term - at least it's definitely not good on the heart long term.

Finding a solution to the cravings without them can only be a GOOD thing!

someone said that L-glutamine is supposed to stop the sugar cravings without messing with your blood pressure so I might give that a try next payday but for now I'm just gonna wing it though I expect my calories to go through the roof.

Looks fairly natural and harmless. I found this link:

Looks like you can buy it on ebay for cheap!

Hi HB! Just got back from a wedding that was out of town and thought I'd check in with my weight loss buddies! Hope all's well with you!!!!

Hey HB, I fight sugar cravings by requiring myself to get buck neked and find one thing I like about myself neked before I can binge. Never works, but its an idea...lol!

Well I was going for a walk tonight just to clear my head and I need the exercise. The kids begged to go with me so I took them. Not knowing I would be carrying a five year old the better part of 2 miles. I found out trying to keep the other two in line and not wandering from this side to that. Well my time was 58 minutes for 2 1/4 miles. without the kids is closer to 45. It's still not anything like Ms. M but it's a start.

Mental note: after about a mile in the Texas heat. denim turns into sandpaper lol.

Randy, I said it in my diary, but I'm saying it here too - that is SO friggin' awesome!!!

I'm sure when I first started walking I was averaging 2 miles in 45 minutes or so, maybe even closer to an hour.

What I TOTALLY love about walking is that each week (including weeks I don't lose pounds), I can measure the difference in inches off my butt)...it is such a visibly empowering exercise that isn't hard on the joints.

Be careful, it is a sickness....pretty soon you'll be walking further, trying to go faster, next thing you know, you'll be buying airplane tickets to come walk the Carlsbad Marathon with me :D

We will shoot for next year...........

I should be tired but I could really get out there and do it again though it's crazy dark our there. The only thing about being out of town is there aren't any street lights and cars tend to zoom by at 70 miles per hours. I bought a new pedometer and of coarse I forgot to bring it with me. I think I will have to break down and get a set of sweats. the blue jeans can get kind of rough.
I use to have a fairly long stride when I walked but since the back surgeries it's only about 25". Man it will take me forever to get anyplace lol.

Been sick all day so not much of a menu.....

Breakfast---- pineapple juice

lunch---0

Dinner--- Barbecue venison patty, Mac and cheese, potato soup.
(that was way to heavy on my stomach, I wont go into the gory details but not much use in counting those calories)

On my second bowl of malt o meal. so far so good............
