Hi Everyone,
Yeah, my July Challenge ticker does read funny! But I kinda like it ;)

I walked (drum roll please......)

5.2 MILES!
Woo Hoo! I was hoping to break the 5 mile mark :)

I don't have a firm count of my calories yesterday, but I'm figuring breakfast was about about 1100 - no clue really, just a guestimate, so with a beer, I had another 300 calories for dinner and called it a day with my eating, so I'm thinking it was around 1400cs for the day. I really don't like days when I don't *know*

I leave tomorrow to go camping around 10:30-11:00 and will get home on Thursday. I am planning my meals for each day around 820-850 cs which will leave room for some beer and some low cal snacking. We'll see how it goes, but my goal is to lose 3 lbs next week even with camping. If I do, it will be a first ;)

Today, I'm going to finish grocery shopping, wash the car, pack all the gear - tomorrow, I plan on getting my walk in early, shower, post here, load the cold food and hit the road. I'm going to miss you guys while I'm gone!
 
We are going to miss you too M2M. 5.2 miles .... excellent!! You will just keep going further and further and faster and faster. Way to go ;)

Have a really great time camping. Try to be good, but more importantly enjoy yourself!! :)
 
5 miles!!! *does happy dance with you* That's amazing! I just got to running barely two miles, and I was pooped! Great job! Have fun camping!

I just can't believe I didn't eat my way right through this crisis. I've been pretty good about my eating. The YMCA drafted our payment on Thursday, so we are paid up there for at least a month. Maybe getting back to the gym will help me to get refocused. I can work out some of my worries on the elliptical trainer. Or at least come back home feeling like I accomplished something.
 
Hi M! CONGRATULATIONS!!! All your hard work is totally paying off. It gives me such hope. I hope you and your family have a fabulous vacation in one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. I'm so jealous!
 
Good Morning Everyone!!

I just wanted to say congratulations to all the teams! Our combined weightloss is going to be huge!

I walked 5 miles this morning. I think I'm going to keep it at 5 but try and better my time now. It's taking me an hour and 20 minutes to walk 5 miles (85 minutes), I'm hoping to get it down to 70-75 minutes.

I leave for my camping trip today, I have all good food packed, and have planned my meals at 820 calories a day. From there, I can have a beer or a little snacking and still be around 1200.

See you guys when I get back - have a great week! (And Twinny, you're in my thoughts girl, I hope your dh finds work VERY soon!)
 
Sorry I missed you before you left...but my gosh you are doing great. You are really rocking that walking!!!! And look how it's paying off...weight loss, old clothes fitting. What a great example you set for the rest of us.
 
M2M, I gotta say, you're just absolutely inspirational. I can remember just awhile back when u were walking just 1-2 miles. now you're up to 5. wow. I get tired just after 4. You're just amazing. I gotta dedicate my next week's summer challenge to you... A walking challenge!! :D

Home From Camping :D

I can't believe how quickly this week flew by!

We had a great time camping in Santa Barbara - it was a nice break from the heat!

We had to haul our gear quite a ways from parking lot to camp site and the beach was 125 stairs down ;) The site was ENTIRELY too close to the freeway & train - however, that being said, we still had a wonderful time.

Between El Capitan and Refugio group site, I'll take Refugio any day of the week, but beach camping in California means train tracks.

I walked every morning - and my Tuesday thru Friday total of miles *intentionally* walked (as opposed to the 6 times UP the stairs or hauling in gear) ;) was 19.9 miles. There was a great trail (UP and Down hills) between Refugio & El Capitan

and the attached picture is what I walked TO every morning :)

So here's the bad news...
I'll have a better clue as to how much weight I've GAINED :( tomorrow morning when I weigh in.

I stuck to my plan and even reduced mid day calories to accomodate for the Happy Hour snacking and drinking.

I might not have reduced my mid day calories enough though...
I got home and got on the scale and weighed...
...get this...
*9* pounds more then when I left.

There is NO way I drank or ate enough to go up *9* pounds in 5 days. I did however eat some very salty snacks and TOM showed up - so I'm going to just wait this out and see what happens.

I was stunned. Even with my drinking, I simply can't imagine that I ate 7,875 calories OVER my maintanence weight.

Today's calories are at 1060 and I'm done for the day.
Let's hope it's just TOM's influence and sodium!

Regardless, it's going to come OFF!!

I plan on getting to diaries throughout the weekend, I hope you're all doing well!
