A Day In The Life of m2m :)

I missed more than one meal over those *&%#&$#@ pizza-flavored goldfish. Handful here, handful there and next thing I know I'm getting in the 600 - 800 cal range and passing on my supper and sucking down a straight away simple salad and carrots and pickles for night snacks.

I hear ya - it's a good thing you had those catabolics ;) The problem with those little goldfish, or any other snacky type thing is that it's easy to grab a 'few' in the palm of your hand and go do something. Then a little while later, grab a 'few' more...snacky eating adds up sooo fast!

Truth be know, I don't see me ever having a 'masters degree' in this eating world, but I'll be go to hell if I'm ever going back to fat. The 'flirting with disaster' stage is kinda ok with me. The day I announce I brought home the Big Mac value meal is the day we have to worry.

Yeah, same here...I don't know if they hand out master's degrees to people like us...I don't know if we'll ever master it, I had 40 years to master my old ways - I've had less then a year with this new way...it's going to take a LONG time for it to come as naturally as food did in the past.

And no, I'm not ever going for the value meal deal from Mcdicks either - somethings are simply a thing of the past.

Granted, I just know I can't say that about pizza ;)

I agree. I strayed from my regular time-of-day eating and it was alarming to me. This pretty much happened when I turned to irratic sleep patterns and got all out of kilter. I tried compensating night-nibbling in lieu of 'meals' and it only made matters worse. I'm still not back on routine but trying to bring my body clock to come hither. Small steps - big importance.

Yes, small steps but big importance. I've very rule oriented...schedule, timing etc - when that gets thrown into a whirlwind, it takes me a while to come back down and get centered and organized again. Before I would have blown off track permanately ;)

Ugh !! I'm still out of a job !! :p :D

Now you didn't say YOU were applying for the job!

Oh, and monster.com used to have a building right down the street from me - they drove around in cars that were like the Weiner-Mobile of MonsterDeckedOutCars. It was a lot of fun to see, right up until they left ;)

You are the voice of reason.

I read the whole post bobbing my head up and down like a dashboard dog at 35 mph on a back road. ;)

Hi Everyone!

I tried Maleficent's Pumpkin soup recipe tonight and it was delicious! Despite my coriander seeds being 16 years old ;) I did buy a mortar & pestle set to grind it up really well though!

I am such a convenience food preparer...I fix stuff like meat, steamed vegies & a salad - I generally only ever look at a recipe if I'm baking, so the idea of fixing dinner with more then 3 ingredients is a little intimidating ;)

Anyway, the family is going to watch Galaxy Quest tonight, so I'm off line until tomorrow - see you guys tomorrow :D

Good morning M! Glad the recipe worked out, it sounds yummy...my problem is I never keep the right spices around in my house. Gotta become a better cook...note made. :) Have a great day! *OHD waves* :)

five ingredients tends to be my limit for cooking... and rarely are they fancy ingredients.. i think my bottle of coriander seeds is a few years old.. came with a spice rack that has long since died... but for some reason i kept those spices :D

Glad you enjoyed the soup...

Ah, it is fun to watch the masters (T2 and M2M) post back and forth. Like watching something fun and educational on the Discovery or Learning or History Channel.

I love tools for the kitchen like that! Can I send you some new coriander?!?!?!?!?!

Have a great day!

coriander seeds 16 years old ?!

Thats old, did you have a funeral? You mut have known them soo well :D

Are you kidding? After all these years, I feel kind of attached! ;)

Ah Galaxy Quest is one of my favorites. I'm glad to see you chugging right along :)

Urgh...it's one of those movies we've seen so many times we can repeat the script verbatim - but M lOVES it! She's also a huge Star Trek fan.

Morning M2M, hope you have a good day.

Thanks Fenster :D

Hope you have a great day! You cook like I do! LOL:D

It's scary Mechelle, I feel like a mad scientist once it reaches the ingredient limit of my comfort zone!

Good Morning OHD!
I generally always have the right spices around...of course, they're a minimum of 16 years old...but I have them!! LOL!

Thanks Mal.
Yeah, my spices came with the spice rack that Bob gave me back in 1990 - it was our first Christmas together, so I know *exactly* how old they are - I also have several bottles of spices that my mom must have bought and were transfered with me from the house I grew up in - some of those bottles must be 20 years old! LOL!

This cracked me up Patty! Whenever T2 and I do that I figure that's the part of my diary that people skip over LOL!

I used to LOVE kitchen gadgets when I had high aspirations for being a gourmet chef around the house, but then, I realized they took up too much space. I realized last night that the hand mixer I USED to own and NEVER used would have been GREAT for the soup...but I finally gave it away a couple of years ago.

As for the coriander, no, thanks, we're good - I feel like we're in a committed relationship now ;)

OK - I'm off for my walk!

Hey girl. I thought that I would stop in and say "hi". I haven't been able to read what's been happening in your life but will definately catch up next week when I'm back again. Take care and have a great weekend. :D

Jodee!! It's so good to hear from you! I can't wait until you're back and we get an update! Hope all is well with you :D
