Success - It is empowering and it does push you to want more!

It really is, isn't it :)

WOW you, your change is absolutly amazing, I havent bene by in a bit, just wanted to say hi and wish you a good day/weekend...My fingers are crossed for Megan and the swim meet :):):)

Never been in school ???

No, we homeschool :)

I love before and after pics!

You are so pretty regardless of the weight but you look a lot happier now:)

Oh thanks! I do feel happier now!!

So we're back from the swim meet - Meg did GREAT! She had three events, beat her times in all 3, will bring home a ribbon for her 50 breast (BR), upped herself in time to the next division in her 50 free and dropped 2 seconds off her 100 IM! She's very happy :)

She has 4 events tomorrow - so she's feeling confident!

I'm off soon for my walk :D

Its all in the hips. They overexaggerate the movement at the hips from side to side.

That's true - I was looking at the site, and the race walkers there are *walking* 6 minute miles - that's AMAZING, my best time walking so far is between 10 and 11 minutes. It's hard to imagine overexaggerating my hips enough to go that fast!

I think I need to watch people do that in real life :D

Wow, its so hard to believe that pic of you with the dogs is actually you!
You're super fantastic! :D

Thanks Wishes - and that picture was a good 4, 5 days into camping - it's hard to look decent at any weight while camping ;)

OK - I'm back from my walk, 5.2 miles 59.31 :D Guess that counts as steady state cardio ;)

Not sure how I'm going to get a walk in tomorrow - another swim meet, followed by grocery shopping, then picking up grandma to bring her over for dinner and games.

We've gotta mean game of Indian No Peak going and my chips are burning a whole in my pockets ;)

Walking queen! Always an inspiration.

I was thinking of walking or jogging or visiting this little gym tomorrow. Have run ONCE since I went back to work 2 months ago. egads.

I like the tiara. Where'd it go??????!

Well it's been about 12 whole hours since I visited your diary so I have a great deal to catch up on.

Your dogs are verycute. You're right about the hair. I thought you had 3 small dogs there at first, but one of them turned out to be a tail.

You look pretty in your before picture, especially for 4-5 days into camping - but OH BOY do you look so much more wonderful, and more energized, now!!

Congratulations on the swim meet!! Your daughter must have pulled out all stops to get three personal bests! :)

Tomorrow is your one year anniversary, right? What a year of achievement.

LOL! 12 whole hours huh? OMG, I might have thrown in the towel if I were you! I tend to get chatty from time to time LOL!

LOL!! Oh man, that's JUST what I'd need, 3 little ankle sharks! Yikes!

Thanks :) I hadn't planned on posting any pictures until I hit my 3/4 mark, but it's coming up soon, so it might be sooner then later - the camping shot, well, it's the only one of me with BOTH the dogs. I've been in denial about being owned by dogs for awhile ;)

She did! It was very cool to watch, especially since she thought she was going to 'flunk' this meet ;)

YES! Thank you for remembering, tomorrow is my official "getting my act together" anniversary.

It's amazing how much can change in one year!!

wow you can definately see a huge difference in that pic compared to you right now. Even if that pic had a tiara I still wouldn't believe it was you.:)

Thanks for sharing the picture M2M,

Maybe when I drop a lot of weight I'll have the courage to post a Before After pic ;).

Have a great day :)

LOL! A tiara while camping! Oh, my girlfriends would NEVER let me hear the end of it!!

Hi Kinyo :)

I posted some pictures in the B&A section when I had reached my half way point, and I figured I would post pictures again when I got half way through with my last halfway. One of my regrets actually, is not taking pictures more regularly - so even if you don't post them, definitely take them.

I've said this before...I still feel like the biggest person in the room - and I think it's because I had all those years of being fat, of looking in the mirror, of seeing pictures, that the image is clearly burned into my mind's eye. I've only been losing weight for a year (TODAY!!) and in that year, I haven't taken many pictures and when I look in the mirror, I still see the same face that's looked back at me since I was 18 (so it's not just weight, it's denial) ;)

Taking LOTS of pictures might have helped with the mind's eye so to speak ;)

Congrats on your Anniversary !!

It's pretty safe to assume you will NOT be the fattest person in the room anymore but I can so relate to the mental imagery you mentioned. I guess in someways it's a nice mental insurance policy to have in case we 'forget where we came from'

agree ??

I've always been the picture taker not takee... so I don't have very many pics of me over the years... period. And I regret that too. I think that avoiding my own image (pictures, mirrors, etc.) helped me get heavy...

So I think I will start taking pics...

I have some pics when I was at my heaviest, lol. I DO NOT like looking at them at all, I shudder when I see the folder I store them in :/.

But I totally agree with the idea that its good to take a lot of pictures. It's hard to see daily sometimes even weekly when the body starts to lean down and shrink. Hard to catch with just the eye alone. My parents sometimes say I look thin, but I just think they're saying it to make me feel happier or just for encouragement, and that there is really no change.

Happy anniversary! *balloons and confetti galore!* (Someone else will have to be responsible for clean-up) You should be so proud of yourself. You're fantastic.

Absolutely. I see this as a work in progress for the rest of my life.
And I'm good with that :)

Good idea Wachee :) I found I just used to avoid being anywhere near the action when pictures are being taken!

You'll be happy you have those images when you get to your goal Kinyo - You will see just how far you've come :D

Congrats--what an outstanding 1 year anniversary!

Thanks Cannon, I feel pretty good about it! It's been an amazing year!

Thanks SunnyDee - I'll leave the balloons and confetti out for awhile :D

So we're back in from the swim meet - Meg had good moments and not so good - after her 3rd event, she begged to go home. She said she didn't "feel well" (yeah, adding 9 seconds to your breast stroke might have something to do with that) ;) I told her we can leave after her 50 Fly - she swore she couldn't do it.

So, after she swam, as she's at the wall staring at the score board she saw that Lane 4 came in 1st place. She looked around thinking lane 4 was to her left or right when she discovered she was the only one back already :)

She dropped time, came in 1st in her heat and moved into the next division - funny though, she was feeling JUST fine when she came out of the water ;)
