A brand new start

Feeling good today! My dad came up to go to "Grandparents Day" at the boys' school. After all the events he took the boys and I out for subs at a local place. I treated him to some homemade peanut butter chocolate chip cookies (NOT a lowfat recipe) and then I spent the afternoon hanging out at home. After dinner we went to Target to get a birthday present. Here's to a fabulous weekend!

Food
2 slices of whole wheat toast spread with peanut butter
a few gulps of oj
1/2 a corned beef sub (lean corned beef, swiss cheese, veggies)
half a bag of cheddar and sour cream chips
diet coke
3 peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies
? number of chocolate chips
diet coke
the other half of the sub
green beans
strawberries
1 more cookie

Aww, well I'm glad you enjoyed your time with your dad. That's so nice that he got to go to Grandparent's Day. Your cookies sound so good!!

Fuunky,
The cookies are wonderful! Wonderfully fattening!

Just ran across this quote, "You can't loose weight by talking about it. You have to keep your mouth shut!"

And, "Self delusion is pulling in your stomach when you step on the scales." (Paul Sweeney)

Going to bed,

Just got back in town! Went to visit some friends... so, you can imagine what a weight-conscious weekend this was! Highlights included a trip to the fair and donuts for breakfast. I'll write more later.

Thanks for checking in on me, Fuunkymonk! It was a great weekend, but it will take a few days to detox. The kids got so little sleep (and I did?!), so it will take a day or two to catch up. Judging from the whining coming from one 4.5 year old, in particular, it will be another day or so before we are "caught up." My middle guy wore pull-ups the whole weekend, so today may be slightly "wet" as we move back into big boy pants. And after a weekend with some "naughty bites" it will take me a day or so to get back to my usual "healthy eating." (Really the eating isn't too hard, but it will take a day or so to build up my water drinking again.)
Staying at other people's homes really made it hard to stick to healthy eating. Drank LOTS of diet soda this weekend, because there was no bottled water or appetizing tap water. I didn't eat lots of fruits and veggies, because there weren't any. I did get to eat lots of food that is not at my house, though. ;)
Anyway!
I stepped on the scale this morning... 181! Yea, the plateau is broken!!!
Totallyscrappy

YESSS!!! That's wonderful! Sometimes you need some "naughty" food to break a plateau. Congratulations. And good luck with that potty training. My brother wet himself until he was 6. My poor mother...

You're awesome, keep up the good work!

Way to go Scrappy! So glad to hear that you broke through your plateau! Keep on going now! Good luck with the kiddos. Don't let them drive you too crazy. Hehe :) YAYYY

ya know I am really beginning to think that that burt of calories of a naughty day does help the scale go down...way to go scrappy.

Thanks, Cheering Section! You gals are the best!!!
Fuunkymonk, if my any of my little guys wet themselves until the age of 6 I will be calling you!!! UGH! My oldest is almost 5 and he still wears a pull-up to bed. Then I have a three year old who is almost "potty trained." (When exaxtly is the moment when you can call them officially "potty trained"?) Potty training has, by far, been the absolute low-light of parenting so far. (Remind me of this when they approach the teen years...) I would much rather breastfeed again, get up every two hours around the clock, even birth again if I could avoid the whole toileting thing. I have a friend that has a mantra that goes like this, "This too shall pass. This too shall pass. This too shall pass." It is so hard when you are struggling on one thing in particular to remember that the struggle will come to an end. This too shall pass.
Phew! (Obviously, I am emotionally scared from the whole toilet training thing. And I thought it would be the kids who would need therapy!)
Anyway! Yesterday...

Food
apple and cinnamon oatmeal
splash of milk
handful of goldfish crackers
nachos (taco meat, 22 Doritos, salsa, cheese) (would have been better with lettuce and tomato, but I really need to go to the grocery store)
green beans
1/2 cup frozen strawberry yogurt
diet cherry pepsi
peanut butter cookies (2)
chicken fajita (chicken, salsa, peppers, onions, cheese)
peas
water
handful of M&M's ...eaten totally out of frustration! I was hitting a wall with the kids and I was frustrated that DH had to work late and M's (as Sammy calls them) came to my rescue. Bad, bad, bad. I need to get them out of the house.

Exercise
did some walking while watching tv. Not really a great workout and for the first time I lost my "momentum" and just sat down. I really have to do it with the dvd.

Have to drink more water...

Yummy, sounds like you had a pretty good day yesterday. I had the potty training with my 3 year old. I agree it is very hard! Hnag in there your friend is right, it will pass. I know this sounds mean but iot worked. I took her pull ups away during the day. If she wet her pants I took away her undies and she just wore pants. She hated wetting and making a mess, eventually she would run to the toilet or let me know she had to go. But good luck. I feel your pain!

Thanks, Shell. It sure does help to know that other people are feeling your pain and I'm not alone!
Thanks, Jennifer. It was a yummy day, wasn't it?

Yesterday's food
2 Special K low fat waffles with country crock and low sugar syrup

*Forgot to mention that DH and I had our placement interview the night before last. No hints, of course. We find out April 26!

Ok well I don't like veggies at ALL BUT mmm tater tot casserole...how original and yummy! I can't cook worth a darn. lol! Time to learn.

Haha anyway! You're doing good uh huh oh yeah break it down. lol sorry, that was a happy dance for YOU! :)

Hey, Coastergirl, thanks for the happy dance!
Tater tot casserole is yummy and easy. 1/2 bag of tots on bottom of greased casserole dish. Then make a meat mixture of 1 pound of ground beef browned with some onions, 1 can cream of something soup, and 1 cup of milk. Put the meat mixture on top of the tots. Add a bag of frozen veggies next. Top the whole thing off with the rest of the tater tots. Cook for about an hour at 350.
Happy cooking! You can do it... its an easy one!
