280lbs --> 174lbs

Thanks so much everyone! (I did have lots of "blubber" before! and now only...a little bit!)

Thanks for saying that I look smaller! I think that's just my body frame/muscle mass because when I went to the nurse at my gym she said that I was 144lbs of muscle, water,connective tissue ect and the rest was just un-needed lbs. So, hopefully the closer to 140 that I get the more "fit" & smaller I'll look!

Nuiico-- please! You are in no way pathetic-AT ALL! I just looked at your pictures and my goodness! You look FANTASTIC! I just had more to lose than you, lol.

ps: Nedo, I'm sure you do not look like a WATER BUFFALO -- goodness me!

I don't think he meant that comment in a negative way. I'm still trying to come with terms with the fact she's 174 LBS! She looks amazing for someone @5'6 and 174LBS.

I'm a guy and 5'9, 175lbs and I look like a water buffalo compared to you. I'm very impressed with this transformation.

Was the comment insensitive? Yes. Will it feel hurtful to those who have not yet reached their weight goals and those who have consistantly struggled and never reached them? Absolutely.

Is the reaction an uncommon or unexpected one? No. It isn't.

That is the attitude that all overweight and obese hope will go away. It is the attitude we hide from. It is also the attitude that should set you free. When I was at my fattest, THAT was the kind of phrase I said to myself. "The person I want to be is under there somewhere." That phrase set me in motion.

It is also a fallacy that the person 'under there' in the fat body is the same person that will be around when the fat is gone. I will tell you from personal experience that the person who emerges is NOT the same as the one on the inside. The one on the inside lacks confidence on many levels, is nervous about acceptance, has esteem issues, etc. The one who emerges, through this drastic change, will be different completely. When I was 18, I lost 60 lbs between my junior and senior year. I entered school a completely different person that September. And it is a great change. It feels awesome. It is a change you never forget. If you are real about acknowledging it, you wont ever go back to fat.

Let's ask OMG girl...are you and do you feel (inside) like you are different?

(and OMG, you look awesome!!)

Goodness -- you guys are going to make me cry! I will say that I am the same person -- but I let people see MORE of me. Meaning -- You are very right -- losing weight DOES give you confidence etc & etc. I still LIKE the same things -- find the same things funny BUT I'm so much happier and people notice that. I tried to portray a happy girl @ my largest but inside I was really, REALLY, unhappy. Now I really am happy -- with myself which has made me a much brighter and more confident person.

Although, I still sometimes see myself as the 300lb girl -- I still sometimes get anxious when I walk into a room thinking that people will judge me as "the fat girl" -- but it's getting bettery everyday. I realized that weightloss is WAY more than just a physical change.

Thanks for everyone's kind words -- they truly mean more than you know.

I have been there...so I knew the answer already. ;o)

Just wanted to hear you say it...it is very encouraging to all those who are trying to lose. They think it is just weight...but no it is not.

All the best.

Wow, you really look amazing! Not just your physical appearance but you look so happy! It's great to see someone really accomplish their goals. What an inspiration! :)

You look amazing! Great job...and I love your hair!!

ahah, thanks SO much! When I was younger it was albino white -- now it's more golden but I still darken it up a tad. I always wear it long since I feel like it takes away from my chubby face :eek:)

That is an absolutely amazing change. I have lost 105 lbs since January but I don't look that good. Congratulations and I hope you are living up your new lifestyle and enjoying every minute of it. The world can be a much better place if you are happy with yourself. Good job. In that post you said you had 30 lbs left (which I can't see where they are going to come from) how have you done with that. I have 6 lbs left and it is slow now that I am down so much - how about you?

I couldn't believe it! You seriously looked like two different people. You did such a great job, and I was so happy to see your post. Yours was the most shocking post.

Thanks SO much! Congrats on YOUR weight loss! The weight is coming off SO slowly especially now that I haven't been able to work out hardly at all. I tore a ligament in my thumb in late JUNE -- and it was worse than they thought so after my surgery I have to be in a cast for a few more weeks then hopefully the weight will come off more quickly.

Since my injury I've lost a mere 7-10 lbs lol. I've been itchin' to go to the gym to lose the last 30. Although I'm not obsessive over the number -- just where I am the healthiest/fittest. So if I'm 140-145 but feel & look good I'll just try and maintain that :)

Good luck on your 6 lbs! That's incredible -- I can't wait until I can say that I only have 6 lbs to go!
:party::party:

Mine was so shocking because I had SO much extra weight on me! Just the other day I ran into someone I went to HS with and they didn't even recognize me! That was an AMAZING feeling! :) Thanks so much for your kind words -- weight loss is a LONG process but the end results are SO worth it!

:eek:)
