Okay, I've gotten a lot of questions about loose/excess skin. This is where I mainly have my problem -- my stomach. From the side you can see where there's loose skin up at my upper back (I can literally grab a piece and pull away) and my stomach. The side -- you can see the puffiness of just the skin --

I have a consultation next week to see about getting some of the excess skin removed since a doctor before says that it looks like I have around 8lbs of excess skin as it is..

Sorry for the gruesome pictures -- just wanted to show the real deal.

Your skin doesn't look that loose to me. It looks like normal skin. Based on those 2 pictures, I don't think you need surgery.

I guess I need to take better pictures. It's pretty bad -- about 8 lbs of excess skin and it causes irritation. Not to mention it looks like I'm a lot bigger than I actually am.

It was hard to show the extent of the skin while holding a camera at the same time.

oooh I remember seeing your before pictures AGES ago!!
I can't believe it's you! I didn't click before!

Wow you have done soooo well.
You're such an inspiration :D

Also, your skin doesn't look so bad either :)

I think you look pretty great in those shots too but I know some people who have to get those belly bands just so they can put on pants easier :( For them they feel pretty good but they want to be able to wear a bikini without being so self conscious about it. Your legs look nice and toned though and that pink jacket is really cute! My legs are only shorts worthy if I get down to 130-125 otherwise they are only long pants worthy which makes summers sooo hot :(

I guess it really doesn't look that bad in pictures but I can grab a handful of skin everywhere on my stomach/legs. My upperback is pretty bad as well. Like I said, I'll try to get better pictures -- & an update when I go to my consultation on Tuesday!

Another thing, is I've done SO much work & I'd like to be able to feel comfortable in tighter shirts/clothes in general. It's like I went backwards after losing a bit more weight because now I'm so self-conscious about my excess skin.

Thanks for all the support/encouraging words everyone! They mean so much!

Has anyone suggested that you just wait a bit to see how much your skin stretches back? You're still pretty young, I'd bet it will shrink back quite a bit.

It won't shrink back any -- I've lost over 120 lbs and for my skin to even look half as good as it does now is probably due to my age and weight lifting. The doctor said I have at least 8-10 lbs of excess skin -- that much skin won't shrink back up no matter how long I wait. (It's also been 1+ year for losing 100 lbs and only have lost the remaining bit these last few months.)

Thanks for the suggestion though! I wish I didn't have to have surgery -- trust me! I don't want to have to deal with the scars/pain/time off ect. of having a major surgery but I'd like to get down to the size I've worked so hard for. :)

Really? Is this considered a "major surgery" ???

It's a major surgery considering what I am getting done: I am getting a full-body --

"Often after massive weight loss or childbirth, excess skin remains on the body; body lift surgery is a form of plastic surgery used to shape extra skin. There are three primary forms of the surgery available. The upper body lift focuses on all areas above the waistline, while the lower lift shapes from the stomach to the hips and thighs. A full body lift consists of both upper and lower lifts. Regardless of what form of body lift you receive, it is a major surgery; therefore, several factors must be taken into consideration."

So, yeah, it really is a major surgery.
