where does it go?

This may have been asked before but as you lose fat, where does it go?

I read somewhere before that as it gets broke down its released into the bloodstream?

TIA

You have a certain amount of fat cells based on your genetics.

Gain fat, the NUMBER of fat cells increase. Gain more fat, the SIZE of fat cells increase. Gain ever more fat, the NUMBER of fat cells increase again etc.

By losing fat, the content of the fat cells is emptied/lessed by utilising the content of your fat cells which are called Free Fatty Acids as energy. Cars need fuel to move, right? Well, so do we. Cars have several types of fuel, right? So do we, FFAs, CHOs (Carbs) etc. When your energy (workouts) exceeds your intake (food), you automatically start burning that "stored fuel".

Losing fat NEVER reduces the number of fat cells! Only their size, unfortunately. But, of course there is liposuction...which I do not recommend.

yup. bang on. on a regular basis, fat moves in and out of your fat cells for storage and for burning as energy. however, if you eat too much, the natural regulation of in-and-out is disturbed and you end up with more going in than out.

I have a question for Allcdnboy or anyone else that knows the answer, but:

What are the risks associated with having a lot of fat cells? Say you're 100 pounds, you gain 50, fat cells incrase in size, you gain another 50, fat cells double. Say your final fat cell count is 10 billion. You lose the weight and you're back at 100 pounds. Are you more prone to gaining weight now that you have 10 billion fat cells? If so, what other risks/adverse effects are associated with this?

Thanks

Are you more prone to gaining weight after the numer and size of cells increase? No, not unless you cannot figure out your eating and exercise habits. A "deflated" cell or in this instance white adipose tissue, is no more threatening than if it was not there at all. On the other hand, of one were to merge back into fast food and diabetis snack world, then yes. you will have a higher blood sugar ratio, requiring an insulin spike, forcing that insulin to put all that extra glucose into fat cells, and you have many availible.

Fat is burned as energy givin the right cirumstances. When I say burned, it literally evaporates through perpiration. Hormones such as dopamine will bind to fat cells, releasing the stored fat (energy) it will travel through the bloodstram into the working muscle cells to be burned and used up an energy...notice hot you feel a little hot when exercising?

Anyways, it's not as simple as calories in=calories out. Gentics and stress play a critical role. Stress is by far the best reason in my opinion for people becomming obese, as well as easy access to **** food. but besides that, stress will hold on to your weight, and make you eat more,. this is a disaster.
