20to10 - a journey begins with a single step.

Ugh. Still exercising. Still sticking to eating plan. Still no movement on the scales.

My PT said to have a cheat day so I had 1800 or so cals yesterday. Well see if it helps. I'm off work all next week so I'm hoping this chesty cold I have passes so I can work out. I'm going to kick up the cardio a lot and hope to train once each day or maybe even twice. It's very demotivating to see no change in numbers.

Yes I know the muscle weighs more than fat reason and that I lost almost 8 inches in 18 days AND down a clothing size but the scale not moving ticks me off.

Unreasonable I know!!


I had better lose something for the Biggest Loser challege on Friday or there'll be a tantrum. Also. I need water. Lots more water!!!
 
Oh sweetheart, I had a total freak out yesterday when the scale did not move. Cried, whined, called boyfriend to cry on his shoulder. He kept saying, but you are getting more toned and muscle weighs more than fat and I kept sobbing: how much muscle do you think I gained... I am just dancing not lifting!
Well long story short I weighed this morning to discover I am 2 pounds lighter! Yey! So don't give up. 8 inches is fucking unbelieveable! You are doing so well, so don't get upset! and also 5 kg in 18 days is pretty damn impressive too, maybe your body needed a minute of rest before starting to throw some more kilos off board!

Thanks Camy. It's nice to know I'm not alone. It's 5 kg in a month but didn't measure until a few weeks later so it was 8 inches in 18 days!!

I know it's good and logical but the scale not moving makes me doubt myself!
I wonder if I've just completely messed up my metabolism by yo yo ing so much?

On the biggest loser there areweeks I can't believe a person didn't lose or only lost a pound but they make up for it the following week! Well done on losing the 2lbs!! Let's hope the scale will show a loss for me this week too!!!

Saturday (today) chest cold - Rest
Sunday - 20min 45 min turbojam
Monday - 1 hour personal trainer (mix cardio and strength) ass-kicking!!
Tuesday- 1 hr Aquafit Toning
Wednesday - 1 hr Aquafit Cardio (10am) + 1 hr personal trainer see above
Thursday - 1 hr Aquafit (10am)+ spa day w girls for birthday
Friday - 1 hr Boxercise
Saturday - turboJam 45 min
Sunday - off.
 
Previous goal for Feb 28 is 197lbs. That's just over 6 lbs in two weeks. If I can figure out what exactly is sticking my scale and preventing it from moving I can hopefully get there. I can do a monthly weigh in at the Gp too.

Still motivated but just want to see results!!
 
Oh that blows that the scale isn't budging!! At least you got some inches off to show for it and congrats on the size down in clothes! yeah!!!

Keep at it girl, and enjoy that cheat day!! You deserve it, you've been working hard!!

I did everything right and went up 0.2 lbs yesterday!! Ugh, hoping it's just water... we shall see tomorrow...
 
I hate to say it, but I'm glad I'm not alone in this scale not moving business! It really sucks, you try so hard, but the scale doesn't show it. I'm glad you measured and could see the difference there. I think I will get measured on Tuesday if my sister is able to do it for me. I just hope I notice a difference cause I got measured at 191 and then gained up to 195.4 so now if I'm around 188/189... I don't know if that'll be too much of a difference from the 191 measurement. AH! lol
 
Aw now ladies!!

I'm really getting disheartened now. Down .1kg which is negligble. Damn this is pissing me OFF!!

Didn't work out Thurs ( out of town ) Friday ( sick ) and Sat ( sick ) and kept in my cals and no loss!! Today is sunday AND Valentines Day so instead of stuffing my face I'm going to try going to the drop in gym and take the kids for a swim. I had cardio Turbo Jam written down but I think more drastic measures are in order!! At least at the gym I can get the cal output from the machines!!

Loads of water and consideringcutting back to 1200cals. PT says get on the hi 100s grams of protein, trying to get 22g of fiber, keep fat to a minimum, lower carbs (no pasta bread potatoes) and all a balancing act. Just pissed off now really !! Grrrr!!!

Ate TONS of fibre yesterday (broc, cauliflower, carrot, onion massive salad) and stillno results.

Feel like crying. I've lost 1kg in the last 2 weeks!! At this rate it'll take me a year and a half to get to goal!!
 
Did gym cardio. Because it's Valentines and was noonish when I arrived I was the only saddo in the gym:

10 min elliptical (first time so v awkward)
20 min recumbent bike ( really worked hard)
5 min blasting rowing machine

2 hrs in pool w kids ( didn't do laps but was chasing and carrying 2 kids around)

cals: 1300
carbs: 119g
fat: 47g
protein: 86g
sodium: 2400mg
 
Try not to get discouraged. In two weeks I only lost 1.4 pounds, so I know how it feels. We just have to keep on trying. If we give up we definitely won't lose anything! So, we must go on and eventually the results will show.
 
well it's about bloody time!!!

Down to 91.7kg from 92.5kg!! That's just since yesterday. I guess kicking the workouts up about three notches is what worked!!
 
Yay - glad the scale is moving for you! I was beginning to wonder if your cals were too low? Personally I seem to need both low and high days to get the scale moving. Fingers crossed for our biggest loser weigh-in tomorrow...

Jess you were my inspiration for exercise, so you've got to keep up your end of the deal. If you can work out in the middle of the night, surely I can workout during daylight hours!!
 
I am a stats geek.

I had 32.7kg to lose. I have lost 6kg exactly. So, I have lost just over 18% of the total I need to lose. So in another few pounds, it'll be 20% of my weightloss or 1/5 of the way there! Yay!

More stats geek information no one else but me will find interesting:

I started on January 10 at 97.7kg. Today is February 15th and I'm 91.7kg. That's a loss of 6kg/13.23lbs

So, that's a 37 days or 5 weeks and 2 days.

37 days / 6kg = .16kg/day (approx)
37 days/ 13.23lbs = .36lbs/day (approx)

5 weeks and 2 days = 5.29 weeks
5.29weeks/ 6kg = .88kg/week
5.29weeks/13.23lbs= 2.5lbs/week

So, that's your happy geeky stats post of the week!
 
lol... nothing wrong with geeky stats!

I hope the scale is nice to me tomorrow. I shouldn't have eaten as much for dinner as I did, but if that meal ruins everything I'll be angry! I worked out hard all week, today's workout was so hard too.

down to 91.6kg today. I would've liked to lose more than 2.2lbs this week, but that's life. I'm getting to realise that my version of doing a cardio workout is probably NOT the amount that my food/fitness tracker considers it to be. Old ladies were whooshing past me at the cardio workout yesterday. Aquafit is great, but it's not a sweat-inducing exercise for me. When I finally did sweat my ass off in the gym (elliptical 10min on low low, 20min recumbant bike and 5 min of rowing) it was for what most 'unfit' people would find easy and not-sweat-inducing. I'm going to have to wean off from the trainer as it's so expensive and will have to join a gym. Now to decide which to join and what to do !

So, this week's workouts are going to have to cause me to sweat! Sweat more; lose more! No sweat, no glory!
