On 16th I was rushed into hospital and had emergency abdominal surgery on 17th. I was in hospital until 19th. My step length is changing on a daily basis during my recovery period so I will not give a mileage until it is reasonably accurate.

am i too late to join? Just started to use my pedometer and wore it to work today...i must walk a fair bit as its already at 7520 and its only 5pm! Still got the 3 mile dog-walk to go :)
 
Yay Im in!! Thanx Margaret :D:D Just looked at the pedometer and im at 10338 so far. How on earth do you manage over 30000 steps??!! You have some mileage going on!
 
Allie - well done for getting over 10,000 steps. Before my op I used to regularly get around 30,000 steps but have been cutting things back while I am supposed to be recuperating.

I wear my pedometer all day long so one of the reasons that I am doing less steps is that I havent reinstated all my previous afternoon laps - so my afternoon walk in shorter. Another reason is that I am not able to go to my classes and I am sure that my aerobics classes used to add a bit to my stepcount.

Before you get in awe of my distances - let me remind you that I am not currently working so am able to spend a good chunk of the day walking when everyone else is at work.

You are doing well madness. As you can see - I try to hit 11 miles most days. I will do less next week as we are going away on Friday. Then I will go down to reduced exercise levels.
 
Wow, 11 miles is a ton! I aim for 4 miles of dedicated walking (walk the dog 2 miles and to work which is 1 mile away) and than I try to just be active enough to pick up another 1.5 miles throughout the day. If the weather is bad though, it REALLY cuts down on my steps!

I've been thinking about increasing my goal, but walking takes up a lot of time. I'm looking increase my activity though - but with something a bit more intensive.
