Was going to get 3 miles at work today, but the drizzle had turned into a steady rain, and it was close to freezing, so I went back inside after only 2. Will be pacing the kitchen later tonight to get my steps in.

Phoebe - I sometimes get so that I am pacing indoors if I want to get up to a nice number. Thank goodness that the worst we have had is frost (plus plenty of rain). I dont know how I would cope if we got the bad snow that some people here get!

Another batch!

hey! i am acctually new to this site but I thought this group sounded fun! i acctually just pulled my pedometer out today and started counting my steps...I was cleaning and found it in a box...from like 3 years ago! :blush5:

Nice to see you here Snowbunny and Shannon.

Snowbunny - it is much better to wear your pedometer all the time and see how many steps you do in an entire day - than to keep it in a box.

Only about 8k so far today, in part because I'm having that ill-fitting pants problem. Was hopping around making lunch when I confirmed the silly pedometer wasn't catching any of my steps! Will just have to wander more tonight.

A long long time ago when I was first on the forum I saw Omega's list of steps and thought that wearing a pedometer would be a good idea, too. I found one of the many I'd bought and lost and put in on. I found that I walk an average of 6-7 thousand steps when I'm at work (I teach) and, oh, 5-600 steps on the weekends. I was amazed. I signed up for a different challenge so I didn't post here but I did keep recording those steps. Just knowing how little I was moving in general helped me to start moving more.

Sorry, I'm long-winded. Anyway, I'm in!

And a question: what's the ill-fitting pants problem? If they're too lose your steps don't count?
