Well done Phoebe and Snowbunny
Spartacus - the ill fitting pants problem is very annoying. Basically there you are happily walking along when you notice that your pedometer is not counting all your steps. Basically you wear some pedometers on the waistband and if the waistband gets a bit loose (because say you have lost some weight) or your clothes get all bunched up - the pedometer can get so that it doesnt detect all your steps. It needs to basically feel the vibrations from when your foot hits the ground or it doesnt know that you did the step. I had a terrible time when I first started wearing a pedometer because I have long been a big girl. Well I wasnt wearing a supportive enough bra and my boobs were acting as shock absorbers for my pedometer. I wore a more supportive bra and the numbers started to make sense. Before I got the pedometer I was already doing quite a lot of walking and I had measured the main walk mileages using the car so I had a good idea of the mileage that I was covering in my exercise walks. My hubby (a cuddly chap) has a similar problem in that a pedometer for a waistband is no good for him in that his tummy acts as a shock absorber for anything clipped to the waistband. He wears a pedometer of a different design that clips to his trouser pocket.
