Cate's Diary

Nice to have that plan straightened out Cate--sounds like a good one.
It'll be fun to hear of all your adventures with Archie :)
Thanks, Liza. I feel a lot better with the plan straightened out.
Fingers crossed his uti is just stress-related and he won´t get them or need a special diet chronically.
I know. I hope so too. Actually I must check what a special diet for dogs with a uti entails.

Cate hope the trip goes well. I will be interested in what you find out about the UTI as that is what our dog suffers with. A change of diet maybe next on our list but not yet as she has a great diet.
Looking forward to hearing about the new member of the family

Hi, Petal. I'll find out more tomorrow from K9, From what I see less dry food & more canned food. Moisture seems to be the key & no or low grain. He'll be on antibiotics for a while. I'll check it out more in the next week. I think G & I will be making his food ourselves- probably lots of veggies & some fatty mince. I'll ask her about venison mince with added oil. I'll try him on some yoghurt & fruit too. You never know :)
After LaMa posted Austria's C19 figures I checked how ours looked- Australia Coronavirus: 7,019 Cases and 98 Deaths - Worldometer
I have the vet's letter printed up to show the police if we're pulled over tomorrow.

cate we give our dog blueberries with breakfast it's supposed to help. She loves them . Me too waiting to hear how it's all going

I will tell you all about Archie tomorrow & will share some photos. He is adorable & is currently sound asleep at my feet! I love him to bits already! :beating:
Love my forum friends :grouphug:
We bought him a crate & K9 bought him a very snuggly bed, his Mum #1 gave us a safety harness for the car, a collar, lead, treats.....
I have 3 lots of meds to give him for a while & special food.
It will be interesting to see how he goes tonight sleeping in the crate in a new house.
He travels really well in the car. It was a 3 hour trip home & we only had one stop which was for us :)
He is really in desperate need of some serious grooming & I will ring our local vet on Monday morning to see if they can do that. After that I should be fine with it.
Happy days :D

I knew you'd be besotted immediately. Lol. Sounds great Cate, can't wait to see the pics.

Archie sat on my lap for most of the evening & seemed really happy. When we put him in his crate with a doggy chew & we went to bed it was a different story. For about 15 mins I thought we would not get any sleep as he really carried on a treat. I came out a couple of times & patted him through the bars & he settled down after about 30 mins & just whimpered every now & then for about an hour or so. I woke up before him at 7 & made a little noise on purpose just getting into my dressing gown & slippers & came out & he was sitting there quietly. That was so good. I'm glad he didn't bark. I think we'll be able to train him. So far, so good. It's too cold to leave the sliding door open, but we did for hours last night. He's currently lying down next to G on his recliner.
Here are some before pics-

oh my goodness--he's sooooo cute!!!!!!!!
I hope he gives you an easier time at night soon, which i imagine he will once he gets to know his home. Sounds like a really good little dog, waiting silently and patiently for you.

Poor little thing, so scared still. But I´m sure he´ll soon learn he´s as safe in your house as he is with you. He does look like he´s as ready for a haircut as I was!

Oh my he is so cute and sounds like he is loving his new owners . And if he slept all night that's great news . My dog makes me feel so happy , hope Archie does you too x

Great looking dog!

I am sure you will enjoy each other.
