My sister cut her little boy's ear last week...

Binoculars are great when you enjoy watching birds! I'm not the biggest birdwatcher in the world but I was thrilled with the binoculars my parents bought me. They're light and work well even in low-light conditions so great for just taking along when hiking. I was happy they took me slong to pick them out though because it turned out my eyes are too close together for many models, even on the narrowest setting. (The secret is out: I'm an untrustworthy criminal I guess.)

I didn't think G would volunteer, but I'm glad he did.
LaMa- I think it would be easy to cut kids ears as they wouldn't stay still enough. Binoculars are excellent, but I think I would rather a monocular if I could find a really good one.
I rang the C19 hotline & so long as I had a letter or email from the vet saying that travel was essential to rehome the dog, then so long as we were careful it should be ok. I said that we wouldn't need to go to a cafe or anything along the way, so would have minimal contact with anyone else. She also suggested pet transport as an option.
R said Archie could come to his house for a night or 2 to save us the extra drive further south. We'll work it out somehow, but K9 wouldn't mind doing up an email for me I'm sure. I was hoping that maybe she would offer to drive him part of the way, but there is no way known I would ask her.

Monoculars are great when you have a tripod and a place to sit but less useful when hiking. It all depends on what you want to do with it.

That child has never stayed still for longer than a single second unless he was asleep, so I'm not at all surprised! He's clearly related to me :p

Does that mean it's getting pretty sure Archie will be yours?
 
He sure does look like a cutie, LaMa & Misty. I hope he's house-trained! I don't have a doggie door & have all double glazed sliding doors. I'll see if one can somehow have a doggy door put in. It would make such a difference.

I'm attempting a 500-700 cal fast today. G is off playing golf & I should find it easier with him not here. His toast smells good! Cate, sipping her black coffee :angel:
 
Thanks, Amy. I had this very unusual urge to bake & have those lemon tahini biscuits in the oven. :svengo: YUM!

They are delicious, Amy. I succumbed & had three, but no breakfast & 2 boiled eggs for lunch. It won't be a fast day but will be low on calories. I just don't get the urge to bake biscuits & just went with it.

Isn't he adorable. I have made a call about installing a doggie door & will ring back in the morning with proper measurements when we work out which glass window is going to have it installed in. The one I wanted done is too small.

Thanks, LaMa. They did, but I knew they would when I decided to make them. I wanted to surprise G.

I didn't say earlier but I hardly slept worrying about how I would cope with having a dog & only got to sleep when I decided he would just have to go with us wherever we go if we go away overnight. Having a doggie door would be an excellent solution for getting him house-trained here & also be good for when R & K9 visit with their dogs. I'll get a quote tomorrow.
 
Won´t a dog door be problematic with some of the wildlife you have in your area? Or do they stay away from humans?
 
Ah Archie's is so cute and you will work out any problems along the way. And you will always have a motivator to get up and moving. Biscuits sounds great Cate. I'm doing a few hair cuts here and I'm not good at it but it provides a lot of laughs. My hair is really long now. But I don't mind .

The dog door would open into the fenced-off yard.

I find the middle of the night is when I worry, Petal, but you're right. We'll work it out. A doggy door would be good though. The biscuits are yum & I have stayed away from them since. G just had one when he got home as he could smell something nice & couldn't work out what. My hair will grow & then I'll feel more confident about going to the hairdressers hopefully.
The doggy door will have to go in one of the doors in our dining room unfortunately as having the timber Venetians permanently halfway up in the loungeroom would look awful & out of whack.
I think it has to go in the right-hand panel here-

THat seems a good idea although the photo is small . We just let our dog in and out when she asks . A door would be helpful but she wanders off and we are afraid she will dig under the fence so we keep an eye on her.
