If you do feel your legs in the morning maybe have a 20-minute day again to makes sure your muscles get the rest they need to grow.

Thanks Starlight- love the Internet 1.0 emoji by the way (How old are these forums exactly- anybody know?) And thanks, Rob!
LaMaria that's a good idea, but actually they were a little sore last night but feel fine today.

Weight/ Goal for today:

Dec 20, 2019
Weight: 243
Goal: 1200g / 10oz / 40 min walk

Keeping the walk at 40 mins. The hardest part is honestly finding the time for it. I find myself at the end of the day thinking "oh wait I need to do my walk".

I bet you feel a lot better for the walk, though :)
What does a typical day's eating look like for you, MD? What sort of food do you really like?

Forgot to post last night!

Usually cereal for breakfast, leftovers or some sort of sandwich for lunch, a meat or pasta dish for dinner.

I think the 40 minute walk was a little ambitious. Going to change back to 25 mins for now.

Pretty happy with today, my food goal was met, although I went way past my drink goal. I think the important thing for now is to get used to tracking everything and learning to stick with a budget. However the whole weight loss part doesn't seem to be getting off the ground. I'll give it a few more days, then I might need to reduce the food intake.

Good for you on the food goal, probably the most important one. Can you switch to a low or no calorie drink?
I do drink a lot of diet soda (which I'm convinced isn't super healthy for you), but I am switching to more water! I can see eventually getting down to maybe 6oz a day, because I do enjoy a glass of milk or orange juice and there's no "diet" version of those.

Weight / Goal for today:
Dec 22, 2019
Weight: 242 lbs
Drink: 12 oz
Exercise: 25 mins walking

Both are definitely good for you. No need to eliminate them, just keep track of the calories. I drink an average of 2 diet cokes a day, probably not the best for me, but better than the sugary ones. As you say, water is better, if I could just get caffeinated water.

Weight: 242 lbs / 110 kg
Goal: 1200g / 12 oz / 25 min walk
Food: 1194g
Drink: 6 oz
Exercise: 13 min walk

I feel like I'm really getting a handle on portion control! I could definitely cut back more if I needed to. The walking part is actually pretty eye-opening. If it's this much trouble even to reach 25 mins a day it really goes to show how sedentary my lifestyle is... I may download a step counter and convert everything to steps.

One pound down, maybe? :D Here's hoping it's a sign that your stubborn body is finally, grudgingly, letting go of some of the unneeded extra! Good for you, re: the walking. I think there's nothing like it, as exercise - almost everyone can do it, and it can take you to places you might never have explored before.

Exactly aiminglow, here's hoping that it's starting to let go of some of that weight :)

Weight/ Goal for today:
Dec 23, 2019

Pretty happy that it stayed at 242, especially since that means I'm on-track for my goal of 221 lbs by April 10th! (Down 3 lbs, Average of 1.5 lbs per week)

Thanks, Liza!

Went to see a movie tonight and ended up skipping dinner (and the walk). Definitely do NOT want to make that a routine...

Weight/Goal for today:

Dec 24, 2019
Weight: 241 lbs / 109 kg
Goal: 1200g / 12 oz / 25 min walk
Still seeing movement down and out of the 240s, excited about finally getting out of there in a week or so! Should note that when I weigh I round to the nearest whole number, in this case it was 241.4, so I won't be too concerned if it jumps back up to 242 tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone's having a nice relaxing Christmas Eve :)

Thanks, Rob! And Merry Christmas to you, too. Congrats on staying below the dreaded 240 line! And Happy Christmas to you, LaMaria :)
