Weight / Goal for today:

Dec 17, 2019
Weight: 243 lbs / 110 kg
Goal: 1200g food / 14 oz drink / 25 mins walking

Ok weight seems to have gone up, definitely hasn't gone down in the last few days. Time to buckle down and stay on my goals...

Good thinking. Maybe cut down on the calorific drinks & up the water. That's what I'm going to do.

Hi Mega! I am as well just starting my weight loss journey. I would maybe up your exercise to 45 minutes a day and like Cate said, exchange the caloric drinks for water. Or maybe if you’re craving something other than water drink some flavored sparkling water. Good luck to you!

Hey Bulldog! Nice to meet a fellow forum newbie! I'm going to lower "caloric drinks" down further to 10 oz, and try to go for milk instead of soda, to lower the sugar content. I have been drinking more water in the last couple weeks. We started buying those big multi-gallon jugs with the spigots :)

Update:

Dec 17, 2019
Weight: 243 lbs / 110 kg
Goal: 1200g food / 14 oz drink / 25 mins walking
Food: 1054g
Drinks: 7 oz
Exercise: 20 mins walking*

* Will be taking the dog out later and should rack up the last 5 mins ;)
Was a little discouraged this morning but I feel like I've stuck to my goals today despite that. I'm starting to snack much less and have noticed I'm feeling hungry before dinner- which isn't something that's been happening too much this past year!

Hey, great! about the snacking less - and also about feeling hungry - sounds like you're getting into a good relationship with the food in general! :)
Discouraging, for sure, about the slight weight gain - sorry about that. :( Yes, stick to your goals, and definitely think about cutting out the soda (assuming this is sweet fizzy drinks, not plain soda water). Milk is pretty calorific, though - water with a squeeze of lemon, maybe?

That's good you kept going despite feeling discouraged. I feel like that's when the real test comes. Good to keep in mind about the fluctuations while still always sticking to the plan.
When you weigh your food do you have it divided up so for each meal, protein is so much weight, carbs so much, veggies so much--or do they all just get lumped in together? One thing I find good in calorie counting is being able to eat lots of low cal foods, while limiting the higher ones.
(Not trying to interfere with your system just curious how you do it.)

Good for you, I know that can be hard to do, particularly at first. It was tough for me, still can be sometimes. Problem is weight loss is slow and sporadic, eating you can do on a moment's notice. Its great you can get past it.

My solution to that problem is to plan for a low cal snack whenever I feel hunger, a piece of fruit or something. Its been a big help to me.
go for milk instead of soda
Milk is a lot better for you than soda!

Alright so I may messed up a little bit. I may have gained another pound this morning, thought "screw it", and ate a bunch of that Peppermint Bark that was sitting around...

Weight: 244 lbs / 111 kg
Goal: 1200g / 10 oz / 25 mins walking

My goal is shot for today, but what I'm going to do is ignore the chocolate, keep the rest of what I eat on track for my posted goals, and just do better tomorrow :/

No my idea with this is, at least for now, just control portions without controlling the composition. In any diet there's some average calories/kg number, so if I keep the kinds of food I eat the same but restrict the amount then the number of calories should be lower. In the past I've done the actual calorie counting (weighing each component on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, calculating the totals), but I don't think I can sustain that level of effort for the year+ it might take me to reach my goal.

Goal: 1200g / 10 oz / 25 mins walking
Food: 1039g
Drink: 6oz
Exercise: 2 hours+ walking

As I explained in my previous post, didn't hit my goals today. Had my car in the shop so got a very good amount of walking in. Maybe that makes up for it?

Tomorrow is another day.

Looks like after that peppermint bark, your food and drink goals were below the target? Plus lots of walking so that doesn't sound too bad to me at all!

Thanks guys, seeing so many people on here who have stuck with it really helps me get some perspective on moving forward after a little backsliding :)

Weight/ Goal for today:

Dec 19, 2019
Weight: 243 lbs
Goal: 1200g / 10 oz / 40 mins walking

After walking halfway across town yesterday I figured I'd try and take a more ambitious walk today :) Legs and knees felt fine this morning, no adverse affects from the walk yesterday.
