Lift, Train, Fitness

a little cooler but very humid, still not getting much sleep.

Just had a look at the Aus records in my age/weight division, I am aiming for an 85 kg (187 lb) bench in competition to take the record. certainly within my ability.

I won't be competing in squat or deadlift but still train them.
 
I feel confident that you will take out this record Tru. Hope bub's teething settles down soon & you start getting some quality sleep.
 
Son failed his driving test yesterday (nerves, test taking is hard for Autistic people) the points he failed on were non critical errors which he normally does just fine with automatically. will get a re-test in two weeks. This mean no drive from Canberra this weekend so hubby will be doing his Advanced Firefighter course.

This 2 meter guy walked onto the veranda and stole eggs from a broody chook sitting in a cat litter box, and refused to run until it had finished his meal.
 
Bad day today, found out today mum has been concealing how bad her health is, she had 2 units of blood today and will receive more tomorrow, she has been told 1 month maybe 2, I HATE CANCER !!! :cry:

The fight has been hard and it is a struggle to cope.
 
Flying to Canberra in two weeks to spend a week with mum, I am struggling and don't feel like posting much.

Went into the gym this morning with the only aim being to relax and not follow my regular training, climbed the rack on bench press from the bar increasing in 5 kg increments up to 75 kg (165 lb) for a set of 5 and a few sets of standing calf raises at 200 kg (441 lb), the calf raises were a bit of an ego trip and a way of putting a young male idiot in his place (he was wandering around the gym thinking he was gods gift to lifting, while lifting with atrocious form. He is one of the members who has signed the paperwork stating he does not want advice from staff on safe lifting.
 
Also should add, the gym owner has said she will have a go at competing when I pick out a comp, 2 old woman showing the boys how it is done lol
 
You are not old, Tru!

We may not be "Old" in general but we are old compared to all the young men lifting :)

I will be getting this printed on a T shirt, saw a similar design on facebook but not willing to pay the high price tag along with postage worth more than the shirt, so I put together my own version that I will get printed by Vistaprint.

Shoulder bruising from the calf raises :D

always happens when lifting a good weight, will fade by next week. I also have bruising on my forearms from supporting the weight for back extensions the other day but those are yellow now.
 
good gym sessions this morning

Squat 100 kg (220 lb)
Deficit deadlifts (60 kg) bar placed below feet, great hip mobility today.
Wide grip seated rows (85 kg)

emotionally I feel better after a tough gym session.


It also helps the mood when another female gym member made the comment that I was looking good. (my weight is down 5 kg)
