Lift, Train, Fitness

Having your own generator would be a necessity up there. I'm sure you would stay safe, but hope it doesn't hit your way still. 20 hrs straight driving? Ouch! I love that your bub eats everything.

33 is STILL hot!
It is 35 (95 F) today with 75% humidity so that makes it feel like 50 c (122 F) outside today, so a bit cooler than it has been.

still keeping an eye on the cyclone, even if we don't get a direct hit, we will be in for some wild weather over the weekend.

Training this morning went well, ahead of schedule now for squat, hit 80 kg (176 lb) for some triples after my working sets of 70 kg (4 sets of 8), light deadlifts were fine. Had a hamstring cramp mid set of my hamstring raises, cramps hurt lol. Finished up with wide grip seated rows 5X5 @ 60 kg.

lunch was left over chicken breast and some mushroom. I have also taken a salt tablet today to go with my magnesium, the cramping this morning is likely caused from loosing to much in the way of electrolytes due to heavy sweating in this weather.

Bit annoyed that the butcher did not have any liver or kidneys when I stopped on the way home from the gym, need to try a different place this arvo.

Projected tracking for cyclone, if it holds to this course we are looking at a direct hit if it crosses the coast. not as big as some of the cyclone that hit up north, but a cyclone is still a cyclone and will certainly cause flooding and some storm damage.

stocked the fridge with extra bottled water today, when the power goes out here we loose water as well, the generator can only handle some of our power needs and I would rather not have my freezer off.

At least we are considered remote so our phone line is still a land line and not NBN which goes out when the power goes out.

No forced swap over to NBN phone for remote people. No mobile reception here, TV and internet is via Satellite.

Oma will likely re strengthen when she gets close to the coast.

Driving home from picking up son from work this arvo there were branches getting blown off trees along the road.

I have never been in a location to receive a direct hit before so this will be new to me.

Now, back on topic,

for many here building muscle is not a priority however for me and a few of the male member here building muscle is important. A big hormonal factor for building muscle is testosterone (yes for us ladies as well) one dietary factor in this is fat intake.

Ladies - The ovaries produce both testosterone and estrogen. testosterone is released into your bloodstream by the ovaries and adrenal glands.

PUFA (Polyunsaturated fatty acids) like canola oil, soy bean oil, sunflower seed oil etc suppress testosterone production as well as suppressing thyroid hormones.

PUFA have long sensitive carbon-carbon chains in their structure. This makes the fatty-acids very unstable when in contact with oxygen, heat, and light, causing them to literally go rancid inside the body through a process called “lipid peroxidation”. This creating free radical and eventually oxidative damage in the cells.

The suppression of thyroid hormone is not good for your weight loss efforts.

It is interesting to see the range of stuff some kids will eat - my at the time tiny-toddler nephew finishing all the garlic-stuffed olives was just one highlight.
Hope the cyclone won't be too devastating.

Cyclone Oma is very unpredictable, but whichever of the two most likely paths it takes we will be affected, the Fraser island path would be a direct hit and more severe than if she moves a bit further north. Despite the media hype she is very unlikely to hit the gold coast lol.

There is some interesting cloud formations outside this morning.

Yesterday was not great for me in the afternoon, had a bad headache from the heat, ended up crashing into bed early while hubby looked after bub.

It is a little windy outside, but we are reasonably protected on our property, so if it is windy here the wind will be ferocious outside of our little hollow.

for those a curious about what I eat, this is the soup I just put in the crock pot to cook. The sweet potato is a compromise as this is a family meal. The pot is a big one lol, it holds about 10 litres so when it is all cooked and we have had a meal from it the rest gets put into containers to freeze for quick meals when we need them.

I am now officially on cyclone watch for gale force winds.

This is the Australia Bureau of Meteorology cyclone warning map issued a few minutes ago.

If I can I will get down to the beach on weekend to try for some cool photos

looks like we are dodging a bullet, cyclone has weakened overnight but they are so unpredictable you can never be sure.

Not much sleep last night, bub is teething and I am feeling very tired this morning.

I had just had a look at the radar & thought that's how it looked. Good news, Tru. Are you able to have a quiet day today?

Bub is full of energy this morning and the wind is ferocious outside but nothing planned for the day so if bub sleeps I will be able to sleep.
