Lift, Train, Fitness

I was hoping for a shot of the drain set on the lawn and the snake slowly getting confident enough to slide out but I guess people needed their drain back. I will admit that I feel the same way about most animals: they´re wonderful, they´re fascinating, but they have no business inside my apartment.

i don't mind the venomous snakes here so long as they stay outside, but I am happy to have a large carpet python living in my crafting / games room. he does eat the occasional chicken. When i lived in NSW it was the funnel web spiders you had to watch out for, not nice when you find them in your bed or have to fish them out of the leaf basked in a swimming pool. only non insect venomous critter I have been bitten by is a red back spider.

The only animal that's sometimes bitten me was our first dog when he was getting old, deaf, blind, and easily startled. But then I'm not around animals very much.

Spent an hour walking while I had a wheel alignment done on my car.

Training session at gym went well, much more control doing cuban press, shoulder not back to full strength but improving each time I train.

Double training session yesterday as I did not make it to the gym on Sunday, almost everything went well, only exception was light squat, shoulder mobility was a problem at then end of training, skipped to prevent injury.

Spent time yesterday writing up the rules for stage 1 of a regular lifting comp I will be running in partnership with the gym.

Every 3 month there will be a competition for a different lift, the first one will be bench press. The goal is to encourage members to train and work on good form for the chosen lift because if they lift with incorrect form they will fail to register a good lift on comp day.

A free information/coaching seminar prior to the start of the 3 month training period will be free to teach the correct form for the lift

Winners will be based on the Wilks coefficient which effectively means members who are able to reduce bodyfat will have an advantage because the biggest lift over all may not win rather the lifter with the best power to weight ratio.

The rules are a slightly modified version of powerlifting rules to fit with a commercial gym setting.

tomorrow morning we will be finalising how the comp will run.

It has been a horrible hot day today, 40+ degrees (104 F) but humidity has been between 70 - 76 % with a
Severe Thunderstorm Warning
for DAMAGING WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES this afternoon

While the temps are higher in the southern states, the humidity here makes being outside super uncomfortable

not much happening today, my car is still at the mechanics, one of my doors had the locking mechanism malfunction, took 1.5 hours for the mechanic to get the interior of the door off while it was stuck closed, found that the door needed a $500 part to fix, was able to source a 2nd hand one so my car should be back on the road this arvo.

Hopefully that is the end of car troubles for a while, no training today and bub is asleep so I am taking the time to relax while my piece of rib-eye is cooking for lunch.

I hope it's the end of your car troubles too. Is bub still waking a lot during the night? I thought I saw that you had been in here busting spam at all hours :) Rib-eye- yum!

Not as hot today, only 33 at lunch time but it is windy and dry, hopefully hubby will not need to be called out to any fires. Got some more sheets of insulation foam for my crafting shed, slowly getting it insulated, feels like a sauna in there at the moment.

not hungry in the heat, putting off training until tonight.
