Cate's Diary

Thanks, Jen.
New start.
I feel like I can re-focus & make a new start. I weighed in, expecting to be 1-2 kg more than I am & I have joined cronometer. I want to lose 9 kg. I am going to attempt to lose very slowly (1/2 lb a week) & at that rate, I should reach my goal by October. I am going to be sensible. I feel good about myself.
I feel much less bloated after taking myself off probiotic supplements for the last week. I started taking them about the same time my BP meds were upped & they may have been the problem after all. I thought I would experiment by dropping them & after only one week I no longer feel or look 7 months pregnant. Maybe that's a slight exaggeration :) I do feel much better & a lot more comfortable!
I have had a lovely day at home, recharging my batteries, while G played golf. I needed that. I didn't eat anything unhealthy at all. This is usually a big challenge for me when I am home alone. Today I felt focused again. I do plan on being more active tomorrow :)

Thanks, Jen.

Looks like a good plan.

I like the sound of it as well :) October is properly spring time for you, right? Sounds like a good time to reach your goal weight!

Thanks, Rebel, LaMa & Hana.
It felt good to be back on an even keel yesterday.
I am liking cronometer, especially on my laptop. I'm sure it will get easier as I go as well. I have a lot of recipes saved on MFP, but I won't be as particular & fussy this time as I'm logging to look at Macros mainly & just to be more conscious of everything I am putting in my mouth.
October will be a good time to get to my goal weight LaMa. It is indeed our Spring & we are thinking about making a road trip then.

G & I have a lot of organising still to do for a big golf tournament on Tuesday, which also includes morning tea & lunch. There will be 89 players. We do all of the organising ourselves. I sent out flyers to all the northern Tas Vets groups, & then we receive the entries, do the draw, buy all the prizes, organise a hamper for a raffle, check all the handicaps the night before, shop for & prepare all of the food, set up the urn, tea, coffee, morning tea.....
We have to do the shopping in parts as some can be done early, some more needs to be done today & then, on the day, we have to pick up the fresh, cold meats & bread. We'll probably go out there today & take all of the prizes & lock them in the office, maybe set up the urn etc. Tomorrow we will make a huge coleslaw, cook potatoes etc.
Monday night there is a big comp, which won't finish until about 9 pm'ish, but we may go back out then & make sure the fridges are re-stocked & all is tidy. Then on Tuesday, we will need to be back out there at 7 am as the first hit-off is at 8.30. I do the bar all day & G greets people when they arrive, helps M send off the field, directs our kitchen helpers, sells raffle tickets & makes sure it all goes smoothly. I will have to go back to town to collect the bread & meat when the shops open. Fast forward to Tuesday night! We have made list after list.....

I will make sure I eat well & I am getting some quality sleep as our nights have really cooled off.

I'll be so relieved when it's done & dusted LaMa!
I am currently out of bed, with insomnia. I woke after only 2 hours sleep & couldn't get back to sleep. G just appeared. He must have woken up & wondered where I was!
I'll try again soon.

Best way to get through a sleepless night (when it isn´t caused by health conditions) is to stay in bed, not change position too much and think of nice things. 1) it usually gives you the best chance of falling asleep and 2) even if you don´t fall asleep it will still give you the most amount of rest for the upcoming day.

I usually can do that, but my brain just wouldn't relax. I just had to know what Diwali was about!
OK- back to bed!

I was asleep by 2.30 I reckon & then didn't wake until 7.15am.
Feeling OK.
G & I just checked all 89 handicaps online. Many are wrong. Another job ticked off!
The only reason I stress about this tournament is the catering. Nothing else stresses me about it. The rest G & I can do easily. We have to see if we can organise someone else to be responsible for that next year.
PS I am loving cronometer! Thanks, Tru :) It is much, much better than My Fitness Pal, especially on my laptop.

Absent-mindedness I think, or not understanding how it all works. Everyone has an exact golflink number & then what you play off varies from course to course depending on the course's "slope rating". I think some people just put down what they play off at their usual course. They are all over 55 & some are in their 80's. They are mostly really nice people.
G & I have things under control so should sleep well tonight. Hopefully!

Anything about catering is stressful to me. Anything.
Put me behind the bar & I am perfectly relaxed & comfortable.
On that note.....it's time to leave, to be at the butcher's at 7.
Slept well as felt under control.

Thanks, Hale.
Thanks, LaMa.
All went well, but I am totally & utterly exhausted. My feet are throbbing!

Thanks, Cory.
I had a good night's sleep & am off to golf with the women. It may rain & there may be a thunderstorm, but any sign of that & I'll be in the clubhouse. I have a few things to bring home that I forgot yesterday anyway & thought it was worth trying to play today if I was up to it. In the mornings my feet usually feel ok.
