Cate's Diary

I really have to restrict my salt intake so will throw them out....It's hard just throwing away stuff!

It is 8pm & I have consumed about 500 cals. I have got through today fairly well really. I feel good!

Yeah, salt is THE flavor enhancer and dirt cheap, no wonder it's everywhere.
Unfortunate that a lot of sodium content doesn't come from salt, but instead all the weirdo chemicals. I read a chef's tip somewhere to cook low-sodium until the very end, then add a little coarsely-ground salt - that will give you the salty taste without bombarding you with sodium.

Good job getting rid of the salty food Cate.

That's scary!

Hi folks. It looks like I forgot to update my diary.
I am totally & absolutely knackered tonight. I hardly slept last night, after doing the bar during the day at the golf club, followed by a meeting, which went for 3 bloody hours. Today we had to be back out there at 8.30. G did the bar for the women's opening day & I played. We are home for a little while & then we go out for his last home & away 8-ball match. I am aching all over. G is asleep in his chair. He got a call during the day from the hospital, who wanted him to go have some tests in readiness for a procedure next Monday. I did the bar while he went in. We are both knackered. Luckily we don't have to drive tonight! We can sleep in tomorrow.

I did thanks LaMa. Just got home & am having a hot honey & lemon drink & am looking to a good night's sleep & a sleep in zzzzz

Hi, marcbenson22. Thanks for visiting my diary :)
Thanks, LJ. I had a great night's sleep- about 9 hours  I feel pleasantly lazy this morning & am sitting in my chair in my dressing gown still :)
Steps were good yesterday- 12,750, cals 1,720(with 1,067 from exercise, according to my FB). MFP says a lot more cals burned with golf, so I'll stick with the FB ones. It felt like a good day, fitness-wise.
It's raining this morning & it feels lovely, just sitting here doing nothing much.
We were going out to play 9 holes & open up the bar for tonight's chook run. We also have to pick up steaks, snags & bread for the BBQ. Even if it rains we'll still go as the stuff has to be picked up & frozen if no-one shows. We may not play, though which will shorten the time that we are there. Someone else is arriving about 5 so we can go home then. We actually have some shopping to do for ourselves. It's our GS's GF's 18th BD this Sat. & I would quite like to get her a little present. We are going to their school tomorrow as they are both getting an award at their dux ceremony.
The washing machine is singing out to me, so I had better go shut it up. Cheers, Cate.

 Poor machine! Singing all happily and efficient and just getting shut up like that!
I know, I know. It beeps. If it was actually singing I most probably would let it. All this beeping-my car beeps if I leave the engine running while I get my mail from the letterbox, my fridge beeps if I leave it open too long....... :( If they could only sing! It feels like nagging!
A dux is-
"In schools in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Iceland, dux is a modern title given to the highest-ranking student in academic or sporting achievement (Dux Litterarum and Dux Ludorum respectively) in each graduating year."

Had a good day, albeit slightly lazy.

Thanks Hana. It was nice.
Ha ha LaMa. I'm not actually sure what award he has been given, but all will be revealed later this morning when we go to the ceremony. Apparently, he has quite a contingency going along. Some of his mother's family are going too. He really is a lovely boy.
I feel slightly out of sorts this morning for some reason. I didn't get a great night's sleep & have been getting a little anxious about stuff.

On a good note, I'm feeling much slimmer & my clothes are looser again. I have lost that 2kg again & have 4kg to go. My fitbit is syncing with MFP & I think that is more accurate than adding in exercise manually on MFP. The difference with a game of golf, for example, is about 400 cals less.

We think we'll buy our GS's GF a present for her 18th. She's a really nice girl & 18 is a biggie.
Nothing much to say today really, so will scoot xo
