You can't always get what you want (Athala's diary).

I haven't heard that song in a really really long time. It is a good but super sad song. I tried not to but yeah I cried :( It really is heartbreaking.

Anyways, on to a happier note :) I'm with Mandy. Take that measuring tape and use it. You will most likely see much better results there than on the scale if you are building muscle. And the fact your clothing is feeling looser is the best sign that you are making great progress. I'd rather have my clothes looser and the scale not move than have the scale go down but my clothes not fit better.

Keep at it and the scale will start to show the results your clothes already are :)

Well... The only reason I don't use the measuring tape is laziness... :blush5:

As for muscle mass, as far as I know, I can't build it that quickly, but I've already changed my diet, and weight is coming off again.

Thanks for stopping by. :)

I did yoga today; Beginners or not, it was hard!

Weight for today was 96.8 Kg.

Food choices: chicken, white rice, celery, lettuce, avocado, chia seeds.

I shouldn't have eaten the rice (It looked so good!)... I had 140g of it, which is 36.8g of carbs out of 50, for almost no fiber...

1238.77 Calories; 64.2g of Carbohydrates, 107.37g of Protein, 47.89g of Fat, 40.49g of Fiber.

So far, I've done 2 yoga classes. might even add a third one before I go to sleep.

First one was nice and easy (relatively easy, compared to other exercises or classes), however, I still struggled a bit with some parts.

Second one was the same as yesterday. I think I've made a improvement since yesterday, which meant a little bit of work.

I'm loving these classes! View attachment 21449

For the record;
#1:
#2:

Food choices; celery, lettuce, avocado, orange, spinach and chicory greens*, marigold oil, eggs, walnuts.

Other than eggs, no meat today. I gave a shot to both spinach and chicory today. The taste of the spinach is pretty neutral, if there is any taste at all.
On the other hand, the chicory, is too bitter. I'll try adding lemon and vinegar, maybe a little oil, to see what happens.

Hi Athala, It will be good to find out the cause if possible & have it treated. I like that you're sharing with us. I think it's good for all of us. Bye for now, Cate.

I'm glad you're going to see a doctor. I have always feared doctors, but I am getting better about it. They really are there to help us figure out what's going on. I hope your doctor is able to figure out what your issue is so you can start treatment. :)

I will post an update once I go. :)

95.9 Kg this morning! That's 0.5 kg less than yesterday. :)

I was aiming for 3 yoga classes today, but family had visits today, so I locked myself on my room, and ended up taking a nap... I do exercise on my room, but when I can't go out of it, I generally waste the time.

I did two yoga classes, the same as yesterday.

(#1: #2: )

I'm somewhat sore, so depending on how I feel tomorrow, I may take rest. I have another beginners power yoga class and a few beginner-intermediate classes I want to try.

Now, I can honestly say I really like yoga. I'll practice regularly. :)

Food choices; eggs, lettuce, chia seeds, walnuts, chicken, avocado, spinach, marigold oil, light mayo.

1362.48 Calories; 34.02g of Carbohydrates, 80.57g of Protein, 90.22g of Fat, 30.71g of Fiber.

A lot of Fat today (Not my fault, it was the walnuts!). 10g below my Fiber goal, but I would have to add more fat (I.e: Chia seeds or avocado) to reach that goal. Even though my (calorie) goal is 1915 (on a 600 calorie deficit), and I have 550 calories left, I feel 'guilty' if I get too close to it...

Glad you are going to the doctor's and hope you can figure out the cause and solution for both your issues.

Great job on the weight loss and exercise! Stretch a bit today and I'm sure the soreness will be gone by tomorrow.

Well, yoga includes some stretches, but holding some of the postures (Not the stretches, but the other yoga postures) requires a fair amount of work by the muscles.

On the positive side, I made it through 5 yoga classes (For my fitness level, 2 of them were moderate, and 3 were hard) on the last 3 days. I can also work a bit more on the 'power yoga' one, since I have better form on the postures now.

Depending on how I feel tomorrow, I may either take a rest, try a new 'power yoga for beginners' (The one I'm doing is for beginners, but still is pretty damn hard) class, try a beginner - intermediate class, or simply look for an easy one.

On a side note, I usually avoid stretching, or do a very quick routine, as I find it to be extremely tedious.

Thanks for stopping by. :grouphug:

Barely sore today. I was expecting a lot more of soreness.

I did get some yoga in, but not all the exercise I planned. I won't be planning anymore since I tend to exaggerate, I'll just go along with the day and exercise according to how I feel.

Weighted at 95.6 Kg and then at 95.1 Kg. Weighed first thing in the morning at 95.6 Kg. I waited a few hours, and weighed at 95.1 Kg.

Did one and a half yoga classes today. (#1 ).

This one is longer than the other 2 I've been doing, but I didn't notice as much of a cardio factor compared to the 'power yoga for beginners' one (It's still a good cardio, but I believe not as much as the other one). However, this one hits the muscles really hard, especially legs. Heart rate was up, and I had to take a break from some postures, since my legs were dying.

(#2 )

I did only half of this one. Didn't like it too much, as there is too much balance and not enough cardio factor. To be honest, I didn't put too much effort on this one, so maybe it's better than I think. I may give it a try (When I'm feeling more eager) another day.

I need to go eat something right now, because it's 10:42 Pm, and all I've had so far was 190 calories (2 eggs, 35g chicory greens, 153g celery).

Edit:

Food choices : eggs, celery, chicory greens, chicken, avocado, lettuce.

1184.66 Calories; 43.98g of Carbohydrates, 73.7g of Protein, 69.19g of Fat, 30.43g of Fiber.

I'll be absent from the forum for two weeks. I want to give this a try, so basically, starting from tomorrow, I'll refrain from music, (wasting time on) Youtube or searching the web, and (sadly) forum time.

I'll devote my time to my weight loss efforts, my musical aspirations, and studies (In that order of importance). I won't be able to update my diary, I'll report tomorrow and on Sunday for the October and simple weightloss challenges, respectively, but that's it.

It isn't going to be easy, but hopefully I'll make it. Wish me luck!
Until Friday 25th! Take care everybody! :grouphug:

Oh gosh, TWO weeks? I think I would go a bit stir-crazy without at least music to get rid of the silence, but good on you for doing it! Since you won't be posting on the forum, perhaps use a little good 'ole fashion pen and paper to continue your journal while you're away. Anyway, good luck! You can do it!

Good luck! Hope you get the results you want :)

I waste a lot of time I've found on web searching and this forum and many other procrastination things. Need to start getting up from my desk and walking around the office instead I think.

Thanks everybody for the support! :) :grouphug:

I shouldn't be posting here, but today was "canceled" (I'll get into that in just a second), so I'll just do it anyways.

Here is a quick summary of the last days;

Wednesday 9: weighed at 95.6 - 95.3. got two yoga classes in ( Beginners Power Vinyasa Yoga Class, Beginner Intermediate YOGA for weight loss).
Wasn't as productive as I could have been, but it was certainly an improvement.
1301.85 Calories.

Thursday 10: weighed at 95.3. No exercise.
(Can't remember what I did today)
1041.56 Calories.

Friday 11: weighed at 95.0. Two yoga classes, same as day 1. I broke my "no music" rule here, but the day wasn't as bad.
Again, not as productive as I could have been, but I got some stuff done. Used a fair amount of time cleaning my room (SO much cleaner now!), and some time studying. I also finally shaved the stupid pseudo-beard I had! :blush5:
I fasted all day.

Saturday 12: "Canceled day". Weighed at 93.8. Apparently. I can't handle a fast very well. I can "tackle" IF, but not "real" fasting.
Woke up very late (I guess some of it had to do with my rash not letting me get a good night's sleep), and I've felt lethargic so far. Tried to exercise two times, but I can get into it, in any case, not much "eagerness" towards anything today. Haven't done anything "productive" either.

So, I'm just going to wait till the day ends, and move onto tomorrow. I'll start all over again.
1431.51 Calories today.

I'm considering doing a cheat day tomorrow. Then, I'll switch to Fridays, starting from Friday 25th.
That would mean no carb restriction, no gluten restriction (I don't even know why I'm sticking with this one) and eating at maintenance calories.

Naturally, my weight will go be up a little for tomorrow, Food weight, salt, and (very likely) the cheat day. But, I'll keep my usual regime for the rest of the week.

My weight this morning was somewhat impressive...

I weighed at 94.1 Kg, which, if you see what I ate yesterday, is actually pretty good. Furthermore, (If I remember correctly) my fat % has dropped a bit from yesterday. Scale is giving me a 38.1 - 38.2 fat %, and a 36.2 - 36.3 muscle mass %.

Now, about cheat days, I was thinking about having 1 every week, but I don't think I can eat at that level. On the other hand, two weeks, seems a bit apart for me. I may consider something like 10 days.

About my"quest"; I will try to go through those two weeks, but I won't post about it, since I haven't been able to get a good start and I'm constantly failing at it.

Constantly saying "today is the day" is gonna get annoying.
