Thursday April 24th

Wow, I'm later than usual posting. So I got this idea . .maybe I COULD train for and participate in a relay race that is part of the Baltimore Running Festival! My sister is an avid runner and she did the half marathon 2 years ago. I don't think I'm quite ready for that, but the relay course is between 6-7 miles. I'm getting healthier everyday with my current exercise and eating plan, and they are offering FREE TRAINING. This all got sparked by an email from teh Alzheimers Assoc.- which I usually do the walk to raise money for, but this year they are also offering the run. I put a call into my orthopedic surgeon to see if he has any suggestions for keeping my ankle from throbbing like crazy, as I expct it will. My current exercise is all LOW IMPACT and I'm hoping I can handle, with proper training regular running. Who knows?!

Today is cleaning day AND I have to get in my strngth training too!

It's funny that you mention doing a relay race. I too have been thinking about doing some kind of a relay/run. Probably would end more on a jogging note but I thought that it sounded like fun. GASP! I know!!! Last year at this time had someone told me I would actually a. be this much thinner and b. that I was actually thinking of running anywhere!, I would have laughed in their faces.
I say if you got the urge for it to try. If nothing else you will always wonder if you could have done it.

So I've never signed up, except for a walk for diabetes a few years back - and when I was in college I did a walk for MD - when I was 7 mo. pregnant. :D I don't think I'd do that again though.

Friday April 25

So far a pretty good day, but confused how that at 2:00pm it says I have already consumed 1200 calories? A glass of milk, lite english muffin with PB for breakfast, a banana for snack, a salad for lunch with a piece of garlic bread and a FF gelati dessert. I ate healthy, but something must be offf. Either way, I was planning on jsut having a salad for dinner. I did get 35 min on thre NT today, and hope to take Finnegan for a walk later.

Saturday April 26th

A long day, but dosnt seem I was very productive. Got to work early, as usual for Saturdays. Ate light. After work headed to Mom & Dad's gravesite to visit and put up the shepherds hook with chimes and bird feeder, and a solar lantern. I stopped by their house too to tidy up a bit, and ended up crying a bit too.

On a happier note, I stopped by the outlet store and picked up some Running Shoes, that happen to have an iPod "link" that well help track, motivate running. I have yet to open the package with the iPod stuff in it- will do it after posting. I also stopped by and bought myself a new pair of jeans, on sale for only $19.99 and so flattering! I also picked up a pair of denim shorts and 2 tops. This was the first time in a while that I actually enjoyed trying on clothes, even tho I was a bit frustrated with most of the tops- they are either too big, or too tight becuase of my big chest . . ggrrr.

Sunday April 28th

Wow, what a long day. Got up at 7 30 as I had 9 am Mass, then the kids had Sunday school, and finally back home topick up hubby so we could head out for Emma's Irish Step recital. That was over by 430pm, then over to my brothers house with my other siblings to review some estate crap. That got me in a sad/down mood . . makes me miss them soooo much.

Monday April 28

Been kinda of down since yesterday. After Emma's recital that was great btw, I had a bow-wow with my siblings about my mom & dad's estate stuff. Pretty depressing. So this morning it is gray, chilly and raining and not finding alot of motivation. I mostly lounged on the sofa, but then decided I would try out my new nike ipod thing . . which turns now defective . .ggrrrrr. So I got on my NT anyway and did 45 min. Finally I stepped on the scale and its down to 172.0lbs., so a loss of almost 1 1/2 pounds, no real complaints about that anyway.

Sorry to hear that your new ipod linc isn't working. I still have yet to totally figure out the heart rate monito that dh gave me for valentine's day.

The weather here is all yucky too. Though in my defense I have no time to get any walking in as MIL will be here tomorrow and the house still needs cleaned up.
I am waiting until the twin tornadoes got to bed! LOL

A typical Tuesday so far. Got up took kids to school, then back for a short time before having to take Finnegan to the vets for his exam and some more Frontline and heartworm preventative. Then hubby instisted we go out for lunch and I ordered a buffalo chicken salad- very delicious but HOT HOT HOT! If the weather stays clear, I will take finnegan for walk on our new 2mile route and get a strngth workout in also.

A little tired thsi am, but still got up on the NT and did 35min. Rushed thru breakfast, making the kids lunches and writing a few bills before heading to work. At lunch I had my homemade taco salad again- so yummy and low cal! Then the girls at work and I headed to the humane society to check out their furry friends- our hampster died inFeb and we are looking for another friend. They had the cutest baby guinea pigs! I put in an application to adopt 2 brothers. I have never had guinea pigs before and assume they are a little more work than hamsters, but I'm prepared!

Found that out by accident once when I touched my face after petting one. :angelsad2:
I swelled up and itched all over for days. :ack2:

Friday May 2

Did not exercise this morning, but still plan to walk teh dog later in the evening. A pretty good day, but I did end up munching on some peanut M&M's, but was good and tracked the calories. I also need to squeeze in a strngth training episode. Oh, and I stopped by the humane society to be interviewed about the guinea pigs- there is another application on one of the 2 piggies we want . . wish us luck!

Just catching up on your diary. What a crazy year you've had, since starting this. I've noticed that you've kept up with the Nordic Track, too. Good for you. Are you upping the resistance as time goes on? I tried one of those, years ago, and it was like some kind of comedy routine. Mr Bean exercising, or something like that.

Today was a busy day, I don't think I ate that bad, but according to teh journal it was @1800 calories!(damn pizza). Emma had her 1st Holy Communion today and it was a nice day and celebration. We later replaced an worn toilet seat and after that mostly relaxed for the day.
