Xenon's diary....(enter if you dare :p)

I definitely know what you mean. I am lucky if I get 3 to 4 hours of sleep and haven't had it in a long time. I get lucky maybe once or twice a week, and have a babysitter come over on the weekends (lil cousin) who gives me a break so I can sleep in every so often. My baby had eczema issues that just got a little better from using a cream prescribed by the dermo, but he still scratches and itches and it wakes him up often. He also is full of energy and there is no putting him down if he doesn't want. My fiance also works at night, and doesn't get home until 3:30 - 4:00 am, so that doesn't help much, and I have to be up by 6:00 am to go to work, which I have been late alot lately since, my baby wakes up, and stays up till 4:00 am! It makes me too tired to want to even workout, I struggle through it sometimes, and sometimes I'm just not all that tired from my activities at work throughout the day. My break usually comes from my 6 year old playing with him in the floor for a while, but I have to get things done, and that's the time to load the dishwasher and throw a load in the washer! My baby has been crawling since 4 months so you really have to watch him cause he is everywhere and on your feet, so I'm busy with that. He hates the swing and will not sit in it, $160 dollar waste. I know, I know, I know.

The babysitter idea may work for you. I find that it gives me a well needed break. Even though I could use it throughout the week, I'll take it when I can get it. Getting a little more sleep I feel helps to fuel me for getting ready for the upcoming week after the weekend. I'm lucky, my lil cousin likes to get out of the house. She is 17 and very responsible, and babysits for me often since my first son, so she really knows what she is doing. So when she asks to come up, I don't hesitate!

You can whine all you want it's your diary lol!!! I feel for you girl I know what it's like but in time the little one will settle down and hopefully you and your hubby find a way for him not to need you to pick him up from work....When my daughter was about 1year old I had to pick up my hubby from work early in the am too he had a ride to get to work but not back I was exausted and my daughter too thankfully we manage to get a second vehicule because our schedul just isn't compatible even on the week he works days he starts at 4 am I can't imagine waking the kids at 3 15 am getting them in the car 20 to and 20 min back and then getting up at 5 am to get ready for work that would just about kill me.....so you are a very strong person to be able to do that...I hope things fall back to normal...er hours for you soon!

Veronique thank you so much for all of your support in this time. It really means a lot to me! We do need a second car and unfortunately it is not in the budget right now! My son's schedule is off whack now, but he is getting around 15 hours of sleep per day...the problem is when I start falling asleep it is time to wake up and go again, or he wakes up again; the more tired I get is the more difficult it is to fall asleep...I thought it would be the opposite! lol.

OMG our lives are too similar! I thought about a babysitter but the problem is I am not near any family now and I really do not trust anyone to look after him! I have more to write to you, but I'll be back later! Take care and I hope you get some rest soon also!

I think they finally stopped. I'm going to see if I can put him to sleep again. I think I'd be better off living in a trailer on the top of Mount Everest!

Well, there would definately be opportunity for exercise there! ^_~

Hang in there, girl. This will pass and baby will start sleeping through the night eventually. Get as much rest as you can and be sure to take care of yourself too.

Hey Xe- have to say you are definitely doing well considering your lack of sleep!! I really hope you can sort something out soon though, lack of sleep is really not good for you :grouphug:

Xenon, I would say I remember being in your situation SO clearly, but in fact, that whole couple of years of my life were one horrible big tired sleepless blur. I am convinced that sleep deprevation is the worst torture and I really feel for you. It does get better as they get older - not in one huge leap but little by little and the best skill you can try and develop is powernapping - recharging in small 20 minute slots when he falls asleep so you at least get little bits of rest throughout the day. Easier said than done i'm afraid but try and one day out of a few it will happen and help.

We didn't have anyfamily nearby either when my daughter was a baby and you do really miss that support network. It was a god send when we found a childminder that would have her for a few hours in the afternoon a couple of times a week for relatively small amount of money and I could catch up on rest but of course, that didn't ease the money probs....just was a necessity at the time Iguess.

Thanks Mizzie he was sleeping fine through the night but this schedule change is too much for him. *sighs* he did not sleep enough today at all.

Thanks for the encouragement Luz! This is so not good for me! I feel like I am going mildly nuts!

Thanks so much jjjay for your understanding and your heartfelt response *hugs*

I was just thinking this today...this is torture!

And at a bad time too. I have to study for my entrance exams and I have to take them this weekend and I do not think I will do well because when I am tired I tend to overlook things. Thing is I went moderately far in math but did not use it for a little while so I have to recall...and the way I am is once I start studying for myself I remember everything, so taking these classes over again will be one long annoying pain! Still I do not see how I can penetrate any trigonometry or calculus when I am sleepy as heck. I'll try the power napping...hopefully it will not take me so long to fall asleep.

njoyabl I wanted to say that it is totally wonderful that your little one started crawling so early! My son is not fully crawling yet but he gets around so fast so i know what you mean about running after them! My aunt bought him a little rocking chair with toys on it...he'll stay in it and be amused for about 15 minutes so that is when I can wash all of his dishes/spoons/bottles and maybe a few of our own. The strange thing is he is pulling himself up and standing and he's not even fully crawling! I don't get it lol. The doc said he should not be doing that until 9 months of age. My son had eczema on his cheek and chin which is clearing up now because we switched him to soy....his was related to a milk allergy. I suspected he was allergic but the pediatrician didn't think so...I went to another and he thought I was overreacting and refused to test him because he did not think so. So I went to an allergist and they tested him.

I hope all of what I'm writing is coherent lol I think I better stop lol...but I do want to say that your schedule sounds killer, especially with two little ones! Before I was a mom I would never imagine it would be like this! I'm happy you get some relief from time to time, but I really hope you get well rested soon...as I hope the same for me lol

One funny thing I wanted to note for today: I went to buy a pair of sunglasses when I was trying to stay awake with the baby and when I put them on, the darkness was putting me to sleep while driving lol I wish that would happen when I lay in bed.

Guys I think I will be off until Sunday. I'll weigh myself on Friday but update later...maybe I might be able to come on Saturday I don't know. I just have to study and I need to focus whatever free time I have on that.

Take care all xx

LOL! You know what is so funny? My son, he just turned 6 months on the 25th, and he is pulling himself up like he's been doing it for months! Wow, these babies are moving fast! I tried to pull him off of the back of the sofa last night, and it was so funny because he does this thing where he drops his butt and pulls himself into it so that you can't get him. He is very strong and he thinks it's so funny! Sorry, I just had to share that, haven't told anyone that yet.

I'm going to buy my baby a walker, and hope that it keeps him more occupied for a longer period of time. I hope you get some rest, having a busy life can sure get to you from time to time, well, in our cases almost all the time! TTYL!

My baby also has milk allergies, he drinks Nutramagin. He has eczema almost all over. I took him to see a dermatologist because the creams the doctos was giving me didn't give him any relief. Why on earth would the doctor refuse to test him? That is not right. You know better than he does, and what is wrong with precaution, this is your baby we are talking about. Makes me mad for you.

Thanks for being mad for me Njoyabl. Everyone was acting as if I was nuts. I would never want him to have an allergy, but if he is having one we have to take the necessary precautions. I don't know what's wrong with people these days.

Do you know if Nutramagin has corn in it? I suspect the little one may also have a corn allergy and we may need to change his formula again. He's been getting hives from time to time and the other day we tried corn with him and he broke out *sigh.* I have to call the allergist to ask her what she thinks. His reaction to the milk was so bad when they did the skin test it frightened me because the doctor and nurse were frightened lol. They were also acting as if I was overreacting because he was having milk all his life and his weight was good and he is healthy. I don't want to put him through that skin test again though! Alimentum by Similac has no corn but it is SO expensive! I used Enfamil Premium Lipil, now I use Good Start Soy.

I think your baby is advanced! My son started pulling himself up at the end of five months also...but crawling at four months is definitely advanced! LOL at maneuvering into the sofa! These babies are too smart :p Our little one is sooo strong also. OMG sometimes I'm trying to change his diaper and I feel like I'm losing a wrestling match! We plan on getting him a walker soon. Right now we have this thing that has a seat with a trampoline at the bottom and toys all around. He loves that thing! It's this one exactly: . The company, bright starts, has a feature to register the toy in case of recall which was a plus as well. This keeps him occupied for quite a bit. A lot of times I take him out of it before he's ready lol. We take him to try the toys before we buy them and when we put him in this one his face lit up and he kept smiling lololol.

Well tons of good news.

First I finally got some sleep...the day after it was so bad, my huband stayed up with the little one and let me sleep. I normally try to circumvent him doing that because he has to work, but I was so tired I just slept lol.

Second, I decided to go to school the later summer term because things are too hectic now. So I can postpone my exams and do my orientation online which provides me ample time to study...I only need like a week though. If you ever want some free courses online, I found this really cool site called free-ed.net. I was looking over their algebra and everything is correct so far...they have a lot of other classes too.

Last bit of good news....I lost 5.6 lbs this week! I was so shocked when I got on the scale for weigh in. I was really expecting to see 260.4 or some evil thing like that lol. So now I am 253.6 :-D

Good Job!!!!! That is a huge lost I am so happy for you!!!! Keep up the fgoos work! Congrats on being able to sleep!

I had to go back quite a while to catch up and saw that you have been having a rough time lately. I get to the last page though and see an awesome huge weight loss lol. That is great!! See what a little bit of sleep will do for you? I feel you on the no sleep. I pretty much had all of mine by myself at that age and my youngest didn't sleep through the night until he was a year old. It can definitely take its toll on your body and mind. I will be sending good vibes your way and hoping that you continue to have kick butt weeks like this one! Way to go girlie.

GRATS!!! That is great news! That's an insane amount to lose in a week, you must be really excited.

Glad to hear you got some sleep too. I understand that your hubby has to work, but you have to sleep. Good for him for staying up with baby so you could get some rest. It's really for the good of your whole family.

Thx so much Veronique, Luz, Disneymomof4 and Mizzie

Disneymom it was so hard on the body and mind...you are right! Part of the reason why I lost so much weight I think was combined with the cals, I kept taking the little one outside and was walking all over the place so I would not fall asleep with him lol. It was crazy, when I would lay to sleep I could not sleep and if I laid to watch him while crawling I would start to drift off lol

Well tomorrow is supposed to be my cheat day but I don't even feel like cheating! We'll see how it goes anyways because I will be lacking sleep again tonight. Good thing is this is the last day of this wretched shift for my husband, so sleep should be back on track soon! I can't believe I've lost over 40lbs total. I always forget to put the little things in my diary...like my aunt telling me I look like I've lost a whole person lol! And now I am seeing the difference in my face...like you can actually see the almond shape of my eyes...and of course more mobility and flexibility! My husband was happy to hear that I am 253, he wanted us to buy the elliptical lol, but I want to wait just a little more :) like 240

Hey there!

You sound like you are doing awesome! That is good to hear. I have some news too, I've been getting some rest for the past couple of days! My baby is sleeping! So, I hope you are on your way to some good nights rest too!

5.6 pounds?! Wow! Madam, you are on a roll, congrats to you!

well done hon - you WHOOSHED!!! All them pounds were saving themselves up to all come off in one week! Amazing weight loss.

Thanks so much njoyabl, Hana and jjjay :D

njoyabl I am so happy you are finally getting some rest. I am also, yet still sleepy today. NOTHING to compare to last week tho...that was killer!

I'm feeling okay today despite the fact that I'm puffed up from too much salt yesterday and wanting to eat every evil thing in the land lol. This is the first time in my life I can actually feel the difference of water retention lolol...Anyways I'm determined to lose more weight this month and stay focused...and alas I must go now to prepare a bottle for my son and put him to sleep <3

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day!

Bleh I can always feel it when I'm retaining fluid. Horrible horrible! Glad to hear you are more rested this week, it's easier to stay on track that way!
