Lol, that list is great. That's a good idea too, as it takes time, so it gives the craving time to pass and it reminds you of all the very good reasons why you shouldn't eat whatever it is your are craving.

Hope the cross trainer comes in today!
 
Where you able to get some rest??? A couple of weeks ago that was me trying to go about my normal day on 2 hrs of sleep a night...how did I even manage to drive myself to work I do not know!!!!! I think you are better to try and rest rather then work out cause you will burn out fast....I tried to workout and got too tired and now I have a hard time working out to get back into the right frame of mind cause I am sooo tired.....Hang in there it's only phase!!!
 
Thanks so much Veronique. I did not exercise much this week because I was too tired. The little one finally allowed me to sleep today and I really exercised A LOT! I walked a total of 105 mins but in four intervals so the cals burned is less than if I would have done it all at once -->660 cals BUT I ate 1806 cals so far today :svengo: and believe me I thought it would be more!

Well guys....No elliptical:cry: They did not have it, so we decided to look around and we saw one at Kmart and realised that it had a weight limit of 250 lbs :cry: BUT there was another one for $300.00 from Gold's gym so I checked the weight limit on it...250lbs:cry::nopity: I don't want to buy it now because I prefer to be at least 30-50lbs under the max weight...so maybe @ 220 or 200.

In other news I took a sneak peek on the scale because I weigh in for the April challenge tomorrow and it read 257.4 :D So down a pound and a half and maybe more because I had some salt yesterday :D

It's good to know it's working :party:
 
I can totally relate to the baby = no sleep. Thankfully last night my munchkin seemed to want to sleep A LOT so I caught up some. It does make it harder to workout when you are so sleepy! I have found though that after I do my 40 min walk at noon, I feel more engergized until around 3ish. Then I take a nap with the baby. I'm having to learn to sleep more during the times he's asleep. It's been hard, but it's coming together.

Sucks about the eliptical. I really hate those things. I'd much rather use a treadmill. I suppose it's because the eliptical wears my butt out and a treadmill is more gentle :blush5:. I can never work out on an eliptical for more than 3 mins at a time. So I always feel like I'm wasting time when I could have a more solid calorie burn.

Way to go on the weight loss! It's so nice to have the scale scream back good results!
 
As far as the eliptical goes, I'm sure they err on the side of caution with those things. I'm sure you could get one in another 10 pounds or so and it would be fine. But if you prefer to wait, you can make that one of your rewards. At X lbs you get an eliptical.

Grats on being another pound and a half down! You're doing great!

I'm having to learn to sleep more during the times he's asleep. It's been hard, but it's coming together.

This is so difficult for me! When I was pregnant I used to nap nap nap especially the first trimester, but now...as soon as I start falling asleep he wakes and I feel even more tired most of the time.

lol@ hating the elliptical lol It is a challenge for me too and that is why I want it so bad :D When I went to a gym that had one I would alternate between it and the treadmill, I keep on moving so it's still a solid cal burn. Since I want to start running I think it will help me to build my endurance.

Mizzie my husband was saying the same thing. He said I should get it at 240 and not wait longer. I guess I'll listen to you guys :D

Well I am feeling so bummed! GAH! We have to go grocery shopping and I am hungry which means we will be eating out again :( AND I was thinking I lost 1.5lbs but that was for the challenge...I was weighing 258.2 and was up for the challenge because of water weight...I realised it when I updated my ticker today *cries* so I lost .6lbs really. It may be more but I really cannot tell because we keep eating out which means high sodium food....even if I watch cals...which I try my best to do...so tonight we are definitely going grocery shopping...but still I feel annoyed. :rant:

It looks ok when you consider it weekly...but daily i don't think I did good this week. I think I might do daily cal deficits in my next report because I felt so bad about this week and this^^ makes it not look as bad as it was lolol. I also think I am going to incorporate a "cheat day" to stay strong the rest of the week...of late I am craving every awful thing! I will try to give myself healthy alternatives as well. Well it's a new week...we'll see how it goes!

I understand the sleep thing, it kind of throws everything off, but with sleep deprivation you're already burning more calories in a day than you normally would anyways.

Some of your days were sooo low in calories! I don't know how you do it!

I also read about your eliptical, I had the same problem with the treadmill, and the ones that do hold my weight (even when I was only 250), were several hundred dollars more. I gave up on it, but still, soooo frustrating. :banghead:
 
Hey Xe, I don't know why you feel bad about your week... laid out like that, it looks really good!!! Even if you didn't get as much exercise as you would've liked, you were great with your calorie intake- and I believe weight loss has much more to do with diet than exercise!!! Plus if you're tired that can make you crave nasty stuff a whole heap more for an energy fix... So be proud!! :D And even though you didn't lose as much this week... it was still a loss which is AWESOME. Weight loss does slow down and go all over the place... you might find you drop a heap of weight next week or in a few weeks!!
 
I think your week looks good Xenon, if you think (3500) should equal 1lb lost, that's at least a couple! I wish I had the focus to keep such good data but I find the online calorie counting sites a bit laborious. Maybe because they are US-based and don't seem to have many of the UK foods or the WAY that I prepare foods. I suppose I should just sit down and enter all of the things I eat most often so that it is easier going forward.

The eliptical is a pretty good target though - a reward for getting under a certain weight - somethign to really work towards.

I'm quite chuffed today because of two things - 1) I've stopped feeling hungry all the time and not got such a compulsion to eat things out of hunger or boredom and 2) my ring slipped off my finger today so I must have lost weight!! Anymore and i'll have to have it resized.

Thanks Polka dots :D I did not know that sleep deprivation caused you to burn more cals! About my low cal days ... I checked one of them to see what I was doing and would you believe that I had fried chicken and ice cream on one of those days :willy_nilly: And not weight watchers ice cream...breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream has 150 cals per 1/2 cup.
Here's what I ate on my 1200 some odd cal day:

^^I think I just eat half of everything lolol but sometimes I feel like I'm eating like a :piggy: I also use no cal cooking spray when I make egg-whites.
The machine thing really annoyed me! Don't they think people over 250 want to get fit too?! I did not see any that held more than 250. Thanks for making me feel better about it!


Thanks so much Luz :D You made me feel better too. I guess I'm not thinking of the big pic that I am under 2650 cals each day...I really try to stay between 1200 and 1400 if I am not exercising and 1500-1600 if I am, and I went over this!

Thanks jjjay! You made me feel better as well. I think water weight is preventing me from seeing results on the scale because I had some foods high in sodium some days there.
I am so happy to hear about your ring! I have a little ring story also lolol Yesterday my husband and I went to buy a ring and I fell in love with this Opal one but the size they had left was a tinge too small for my finger. They said they would size it for me for free and my husband was like, "You are losing so much weight, it does not make sense to size it now and then we will have to come back and resize it again so soon." lol I still sent it to be sized but it was nice that he said that...even though I felt a little :blush5:
 
Do you like any nuts? Almonds are particularly good for you, full of healthy fats. They are like 400 calories for half a cup. And that would help with the protein too! There, a "two birds with one stone" solution for you. If almonds aren't your thing, most nuts have healthy fats with good protein and a little on the calorie dense side. You could measure out a serving in the morning and snack on them all day.

Oohhh almonds this made my day cause im short on calories as well and i just absolutely love almonds.
 
Welll I was in the rankest of moods all day, but I just read Mizzie's diary and she is well under 200 so I feel a bit happier :D

BUT OMG I think I am having PMS or something:flame: I snapped at my husband like 5 times today :blush5: lolol I misunderstood the intention of things he was saying and he explained himself to me each time. I apologised to him and when he was trying to kiss me when he was off to work I was so grouchy I did not even want a kiss! So not like me lolol Oh well.

I am so off track it's not even funny and to make it worse this week we are going to be on the road for two days. I think the place we will be staying at has a kitchen and we'll be able to cook...but how can I resist the coolattas and breakfast? Oi!

I've been doing not so good since last week. I hope I get out of this funk soon! AND yesterday my cals were perfect until I went on a peanut butter and cracker binge! I ate like 20 crackers and 1tbsp of peanut butter...bringing my cals to just below 2000...there is still a deficit but jeez!

On the better side of things, I've been wanting to incorporate more fruits and veggies into my diet and I've been doing good with that so far.
 
I'm sure it's not as bad as you think :) As for going away, whenever I go to my parents for a few days, or stay with friends etc I do some baking and wrap it all individually... I know it sounds time consuming, but at least you have something healthy to snack on! That way if you ARE having naughty meals (which you will hopefully be slightly less inclined to do) You'll eat less. Also if you're going somewhere with breakfast there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with having it as the biggest meal of the day... bacon, eggs, sausages, beans... whatever you eat ... it'll set you up for the entire day :D

I know I will not have time to bake tomorrow so I will make sure I pick up some nutrition bars :D I'll take your advice on the breakfast :D

:sleeping: OMG I am so falling asleep and I have to go pick up my husband from work! But it is so bad! I logged in to type something and fell asleep at the keyboard so fast:svengo:
 
Hey Xe I am hoping you will get your rest soon, I know some weeks can be frustrading but by the looks of things you are doing great don't get discouraged......We all have bad weeks! Especially when the little ones won't sleep!

SO how did I fare with these days of travel? I managed to gain 2.6lbs and TOM is here so I am sure that is contributing to the evil. I weigh in again on Friday for the April Challenge so we'll see how it goes!

I might not be posting as much the upcoming weeks. I'm going back to school come May and have some prepping to do...plus I am changing schools since I relocated and they want me to take entrance exams...poo!
